Because he was treated unfairly?

I get Carly is grieving and all, but Morgan was hardly treated unfairly. I laughed when she talked about Morgan getting kicked out of PCU without a fair hearing. Uh, Carly, he bought a paper and claimed it as his own. That's called plagiarism, and most schools have a zero-tolerance policy toward it. Lauren should have ended things with Morgan sooner, but you were the one who put the responsibility of his mental health on her, when Morgan—and Morgan alone—bears that burden. Plus, Carly and Sonny coddled Morgan at an unhealthy level.

Yeah, but Carly has that sex tape that she instantly put into the cloud, so all she has to do is show it to the judge and Ava will never see Avery again

I thought Paul was the one who'd be the most affected by the sex tape being made public, not Ava.

Who would've thought that what started out as a ditzy fashionista finding a white glove in the pocket of her cop boyfriend's tuxedo, would progress to so much manufactured, contrived, tacked on nonsense? There's no way that I believe there was ever a storyline plan in place when Maxie discovered that white glove all those months ago.

Oh, I think the plan was for Claud to come to town eventually and Maxie would go to Griffith, maybe temporarily, maybe not. And then for whatever reason they changed it.

"He didn't get a chance to explain himself."  Because "I just couldn't concentrate and I decided to cheat, BUT then I tried to take it back by having someone hack into your system and delete it, but it was too late" would've made the University totally sympathetic to his dilemma and they would've let him back in.  Shut up, Carly.

They would've totes understood that.  It happens all the time.

That's what I thought was gonna happen.  They were kinda teasing a potential Maxie/Griffin pairing for a while, but it's completely evaporated.  Same as the chem testing between Dr. Michael Easton and Carly.  There were definitely some rewrites going on this year.

I feel like with Dr. Michael Easton/Carly, it was more like they were trying to show/say, between Carly and Tracy, "look! Dr. Michael Easton is a completely totally new and different character that is with completely different characters than Sam!" Once they established that they let the Carly stuff drift off.

But then made sure to give a scene to Sam where she reminds everyone that she used to date Silas.

That's possible.  I just remember they were having a lot of flirting scenes, and stuff with Joss where Joss liked him too, and it definitely smelled of a signpost for the future.  I thought Carly was going to be the one to help him when he was accused of being the hospital serial killer (and they had a scene where they talked about it), but boop, all of a sudden, he met Rebecca Budig.

I don't think Carly was chem tested with Dr. Michael Easton for a possible romance, but since he's a major(ish) male character, he has scenes with her. Like it's some sort of shorthand to establish him. Look! Carly likes him, so he has to be a good guy. (Or the opposite, depending on the character.) Maybe they'd have a fling or something, but at this point, I think Carly and Sonny are the anchor couple, as gross as that is. Maybe Carly and Sonny won't be married forever, but they are clearly the leads and will always be in each other's orbits in a big way.

Fuck this show.

Fuck this show and putting the bomb bullshit on Alexis.

Fuck this show having half the canvas worry about Sonny, talk about poor Sonny, wipe Sonny's tears, assure him it's not his fault. Because of course it won't be his fault. Of course!

Fuck this show right in the face for using the tired "Oooh, let's make it Alexis' fault!" that I got SO sick of seeing with Sam and Jason.

They're blaming Alexis. I fucking hate this so goddamn much.

RIc is trying to track down the broker Sonny used? And Jason has to babysit Sonny because otherwise he might not be able to drag himself out of his grief? FFS.

Ava looked kind of bloodless today. It's apt, but Makeup doesn't have to be so literal.

It was really bizarre that Jason was explaining Sonny's bipolarism to Sam.

Ava needs to shut up and stop sobbing in public.

Seriously. Her amazement that switching out Morgan's meds led to all this is so dumb. It's not like he wasn't taking his vitamin C anymore. And she only now realizes she planted to idea that Lauren and Dillon had something going on? I can't. Gah.

I had secondhand embarrassment watching the scene where Sam and Jason tell Danny he's going to have a brother or sister. Is it really such as awkward moment for parents?

Sonny, given that your latest attempt to kill Julian didn't turn out so well, maybe you should rethink trying again. At least until Morgan's funeral is over.

ETA for the last scene: Scott and Sonny trying to strangle each other was UCG. They looked like 8-year-olds fighting.

I'd guess it was either due to tge breakdown in contract negotiations with TC or TIIC realized that pairing a woman with the guy who had her SHOT IN THE HEAD didn't scream romance in the afternoon - and RC/JP wanted to keep Rebecca Budig front burner

I'm pretty sure Jason said "Brick", as in, that guy from ESPN that SOnny has met with a couple of times.

FWIW, I had closed captioning on, and it said "Rick."

I think I missed something.  Why are Alexis and Sonny on a party boat?  Are they going to hook those two back up?

It's possible that it's Halloween, or Halloween eve*, judging by the poster in the background and whichever kid that was who was wearing a mask.  And S and A are taking the opportunity to get drunk at the Haunted Star bar as a change of pace, since, apparently  it is only open the two or three nights a year the Lulu can stop thinking about embryos.

* It looks like we've got a fortnightday coming up, since I suspect we'll be going directly from Halloween to Morgan's funeral.

Sure, but would closed captioning know that there's a character named "Brick"??!!!

Could be either, but to me, it would make sense that it's Brick, who seems to have replaced Jason and Shawn as Sonny's go to guy.  And Sonny was conspiring with Brick about what to do about Julian if he tried to skip town before the trial.

I'm the most interested in what happened BTS with the Julian/Alexis story.

@ulkis's reaction when Jason growled-talked to Danny:

I FFed that woooooooooooooo.

I almost felt sorry for Sonny but then he arbitrarily blamed Scotty.

Shut up, Ava's crocodile tears.

I wanted Jordan to arrest Franco for thrusting his gross hair in her face. RoHo is aware he's on tv, right?

Nina is probably going to be involved with baby Emily Scout Morgan, right? Otherwise, why is she still on this show? The sheer pointlessness of the Nina/Julian scenes burned.

I'm beginning to wonder.

The sheer pointlessness of the Nina/Julian scenes burned.

Those scenes made me truly wonder what the motherfucking point of everything that happened with Julian the past few months was. Like it might make less sense than the Nathan/Maxie/Griffin/Claudette mess, which is truly saying something.

Yeah, funny how the idea of a criminal/mobster/murderer getting a vigorous legal defense is only BAD and EVUL when it's not Sonny being represented.

What irritated me was more that Alexis said "everyone had a part to play" and instead of being grateful that she didn't blame him, he decided to kick karma in the face and put all the blame on the next person he saw.

Jason to Carly: You need to stick by Sonny!

Jason to Sam: I need to get outta this town, woman!

And I just can't take this version of JaSam seriously at the moment. I'm all for growth, I really am, but I'm gonna need the two of them to apologize to everyone they ever yelled at or sneered at for not accepting ~the business~ before I really pay attention to this newfound Safety First message.

In other news, I was too swoony about Scotty/annoyed with Sonny to mention, but I did find Franco being the savior of the hospital absolute horseshit.  So that's really what this whole thing boiled down to, Franco being the hero by tattling on his mommy so he could get into Liz's scrubs?  WHY?

Paul threw the trial, and Scott wasn't exactly Clarence Darrow regardless, but Sonny's outrage is pathetic. Typical that whenever something doesn't go his way, it's the system that's failed.
