It's probably a mixture of both. 

I think she gives a damn enough about him at the father of her kids and as a back-up plan. Which isn't healthy for anybody involved.

All those women who have a dose of Scott know what he’s like.  The agony of being with an alcoholic may dim as time passes, but they know how miserable it is dealing with a person like that.  He cannot be healthy for kids....and based on recent developments, maybe Kourtney can’t either.

I have a nephew who refuses to smile for photos.  He’s ruined family shots as he’s the only person in the shot who isn’t smiling. We have begged, threatened, etc. for him to smile, but he refuses. He won’t even smile in professional pictures with his child!  It infuriates me, but I let it go. I no longer ask him to be in any photo. It’s so juvenile.  The man is 25 years old.

For all of Scott's faults and his alcoholism, he worshiped the ground she walks on and would literally drink her dirty bath water. 

But I believe the main reasons why she won't recommit to him and make a more permanent commitment as to a marriage with him is fear. 

Even with legitimate therapy and not these TV therapists that she's been seeing going to on the show to be raised around Kris who had her boytoy around her kids and was so open and blatant with that side relationship, I'd be shy to go into marriage too.

I don't think this relationship with Travis will go anywhere. Kourtney seems to be a flash in the pan with these relationships and then they fizzle out quickly. Yes they might have been friends for years but I believe they were just acquaintances there was no real depth to that friendship especially in Los Angeles where it seems like all the celebrity people are one degree of separation from each other.

I personally I'm trying to figure out why they have chosen to leave E! network for Hulu, like are they going to do a different type of show? is it going to be unedited?  Was it the money? Was Hulu willing to give them more, which I don't see that being the case because their show is a big Cash Cow for that Network.

Or maybe the Hulu deal was the show and maybe subsequent spin-offs and more control for the family more production credits.
