That is a sad line-up.  Very telling of where this show is on the radar.  For one, it's summer movie time….where are the A-listers?  *crickets*

 

Tom Cruise has a blockbuster out, Meryl Streep has a new release, Amy Shumer?  And couldn't Nicolle wrangle any of the GOP candidates? Or Rosie book her fighting friend Rhonda Roussey (couldn't care less about this on btw, but it's current news).  Anyone from "Hamilton" on Broadway?

 

I guess the point is the studios/handlers etc. give little weight to The View….it's meaningless in the overall marketing machine.

It's a good thing they made all these new hires. Raven can call up Disney Channel stars from 10 years ago, Candace can bring in some Full House cast members and Kirk Cameron, and Michelle can find unknowns through her blog. Maybe then the guest lineup won't be so stale.

Is it just me, or does anyone else have problems understanding Michelle when she speaks? Last week when she was doing her street schtick, I couldn't understand a lot of what she was saying. Maybe it's because she talks wayyyyyy too fast?

No, it is not you.  I,too, don't always understand what she is saying.  She starts out good but then swallows her words at the end of the sentences.

Are these pre-taped new shows?   Did someone get Whoopi to show up for more than two hours at a time? 

 

Yup. The cast has already begun summer vacation.  Reruns for the weeks of 08/17, 08/24, 08/31, and (most likely) 09-07.   Live shows should begin on Monday 09-14.

Michelle is overpowering.  I don't know if its her own persona or if the producers want a man-hungry replacement for Sherri.   Her jokes and teasing of men aren't funny and appear (to me) sad and a little desperate.  She's a smart attractive woman--someone needs to work with her on how she presents herself to us.

No, it is not you.  I,too, don't always understand what she is saying.  She starts out good but then swallows her words at the end of the sentences.

She tries so damn hard to be funny..It is so annoying....I wished that she would drop her act and just be herself..Joy used to insert a joke here and there, I thought it was corny, but I at least got a sense on who Joy is and what she stands for....I have no idea who Michele is and I don't care..

Makes me wonder how often he gets that because that was my first reaction too....then the slap to the forehead...riiiiight Sam Kinnison (yeah, I don't know how to spell it either).  So which one of them did Katie Couric interview not knowing he was a screamer....and she was startled when he started yelling.  I remember it was funny but don't remember which one it was.

So Rosie P is gone, but Nicole is still here? I thought we saw the last of her last week! And CC Bure has started already? 

 

I wish they would get the line-up finalized so we don't blubber along with Rosie as she said goodbye then came back. Nicole should have been gone and replaced, or just have a table for four. How is the viewer supposed to have an emotional investment in this cast when they pop in and out like a turkey timer at Thanksgiving? I 'lasted about 10 minutes, for the discussion on Etsy refusing to sell spells (or something) until they declared that there is the matter of religious freedom, after which they all sang Kumbaya and CC Bure's head exploded.

I'm pretty sure today was pre-recorded. Hence the "hot topics" not being so hot. Nicholle saying good- bye was on her last live show.

I agree. Joy isn't/wasn't the greatest comedian in the world, but she seemed to hit the mark quite a bit more than Michele does. I don't know, I'm still in the early stages where I'm giving Michele a little leeway. I'm not sure she has much experience performing in any setting. I like that her humor is self-deprecating, although she does occasionally throw out a really mean-spirited joke when you're not expecting it. I believe she'll improve after the newness of the job has worn off.

 

I'm not sure if Candace will bother me anywhere near to the level Elisabeth and Sherri did. E&S just looked as if they'd be rude to even meet on the street, where Candace at least seems nice underneath the opinions. And besides, with Raven and Whoopi sitting at the table, there's no way she could be my least favorite there next season.

I caught The Best of the Christians, Candace Cameron Bure`'s little dig at the Catholic Church when everyone was overtalking.  Some asked about "paying" for prayers and she sneaks in, "Like the Catholic Church."   Candace will be favoring Evangelical Christians I assume.  Then there was her little whine that the Bible can't be sold on television.  I've seen presentations on the bible both in book and CD/DVD form sold on QVC.  That's television.

Ice Cube was one of the members of the rap group NWA. The movie, "Straight Outta Compton" is based on the story of the group's rise and is  being released Friday.

Ice Cube's real name is O'Shea Jackson. His son, O'Shea Jackson Jr. , plays Ice Cube in the movie.

 

I feel so old. I was in my teens when the group came out.

I'm tempted to tune in Friday, as I really like Ice Cube.

Hmm, I seem to have found the answer to my question about disappearing Rosie P. And as to why she fawned over Kelly Osbourn, apologizing over and over again. If you trust the source, Rosie was ordered to apologize over and over again by View executives:

I happened to see the rerun of ENews this morning. They said that there was a rumor that Rosie P left the View early because of her being insulted at what Kelly Osborne said and that she didn't mean the apology and she was glad to be the hell out of there.

 

But apparently that isn't the truth.

 

OK, I missed the day that Kelly Osborne commented on the toilet cleaning situation but I've seen it on repeats on the entertainment news. What I can't figure out is why ABC would 'command' Rosie to apologize?

 

I found Kelly's flippant comment EXTREMELY insulting. And if I would have had my Irish ass sitting at the table and she made a comment about the Irish like that you can be sure I would have let her have it and I would NOT have apologized.

 

Why the hell did Rosie even apologize and profusely at that? Kelly is lucky she didn't reach across the table and bitch slap her. After all, Kelly threw a lot of shade at Guiliana Rancic after Rancic read a prescripted comment about weed and patchouli oil. This time around little miss Kelly spoke her ugly truth all on her own.

Do I have this right? Raven says she is not judgemental but her bodily language screams otherwise daily.

Raven says she is not African American but screeches "these are MY people" and the first 3 people came on ...or did she just mean she loved them????

Its the That's So Raven reunion that absolutely no one was asking for.

 

 I used to watch that show (yeah, me and my old ass). I thought Raven was funny and the storyline was good.

And then I see her and hear her on The View and I just can't stand her.

I rarely know who any of these guests are either.  Certainly not any of the musical groups.  The hot topics feel so forced to me lately, but I do like the lady from GMA (is that right?) She at least tries to add some more current information. 

Gee, when my uncle Harry drank all night long, we said he had a "hollow leg" not a wooden one.....

Exactly, tvaddict44! My mother looked at me when Whoopi said that, confused as to what she meant! I said I think she meant "hollow" leg.

This show is a freaking trainwreck. And not in an Amy Schumer kind of way. It truly is a mess. I didn't care that Nicolle didn't know much about pop culture; I'm a diehard liberal but I thought that her being at the table would have made for interesting discussion come election time. She didn't deserve to be fired. It just goes to show how vacuous this program has become. And yes, "hollow leg" is the right phrase BUT don't tell Whoopi that because she doesn't read your opinions and she just does not care.

BOO - no more View for me - 2nd or 3rd time I've said this over the last few years, but THIS time I think it'll stick!  Obvs, TPTB want to turn this program into a youth-oriented show that focuses on celebrity, show biz & sex surveys rather than newsworthy current events - NOT what BW "created."  (Is anyone missing her yet, maybe just a little??)  Count me in as another Dem who semi-appreciated Nicolle Wallace & was looking forward to her Bush-biased yet (hopefully) reasonably articulate opinions in the coming election year. Rosie P. could at least (occasionally) counter NW's GOP talking points.  But now we're left with Whoppie & the Slow Kids...& Sherri-Earth-is-Flat???

So today Rosie said goodbye! Except that she stormed out of the studio and left the show early so that was confusing. And then that clusterfuck Raven reunion. If we're going to have a reunion of a show Raven was on, I want to a Cosby reunion. Now, that would be worth watching.

Well remember.... this show was pre-recorded..... so she filmed her goodbye show before her last live show where she stormed out afterward.
