cooksdelight December 6, 2017 Share December 6, 2017 I’ll design the cover for your book. :) It was neat timing that they ran “In Cold Blood” at the same time they ran “Cold Blooded: Cutter Family”. I also live in a small town and know way too much about murders that happened here. When I was around 13, I was home alone with my sister and brother and heard loud gunshots, then screeching tires. It was about a half mile from our house, but we were in a wooded area and sound travelled. The man killed was the father of a kid who rode on my bus to school each day. It took a determined deputy sheriff a long time to solve the case. 3 Link to comment

The investigators got a lot of details wrong too. Ross knows a lot more than what he said and since there is no statute of limitation on murder I would haul his bony ass in for a grueling interrogation. On another note, the trial of John Feit , the ex priest is in progress. There was an updated show about it on CNN tonight. That case makes my blood boil. I would put the ex prosecutor who refused to charge him in the cell along with Feit. GRRRRRRR 2 Link to comment

SunnyBeBe December 6, 2017 Share December 6, 2017 (edited) I wasn't surprised at the outcome of Episode 2 of Village of The Damned last night, since I had read ahead and learned the outcome. Do you believe that police officer who claims that the mother/defendant said aloud at the funeral, "Why didn't you just be quiet?" That's awfully convenient. I'm not so sure about it. But, I do not believe the mother's account of how her daughter died. Did they ever say what the autopsy revealed? I must have missed it. That crying display was pretty good. It just goes to show that many of these people pretending to be grieving parents are not what they seem. I'm always wary on basing a person's guilt or innocence on how appropriate their behavior is. Maybe, there were things about her unconscious gestures that would have given her away though. But, the FBI must have missed it. PLUS, she passed a polygraph. Well, that's what I understood. What the detective actually said, was that he got word she passed the polygraph. WHAT does that mean? Edited December 6, 2017 by SunnyBeBe 3 Link to comment

bubbls December 7, 2017 Share December 7, 2017 Does anyone watched Snapped? I recently watched the Shayna Hubers episode. She killed her "boyfriend" Ryan Poston. She said some incredible things! *During the 911 call she said he was twitching after she shot him so she shot him some more since he was going to die anyway. WTH??! *She said she gave him the nose job he always wanted. *She asked if you get to keep your phone in jail and if you have to shower in front of people. She's in for a very rude awakening. *Alone in the interrogation room she began dancing around saying "I killed him, I killed him." *She claimed he came at her and she got the gun away from him (right) and shot him (6times!) in self-defense, yet it was obvious even to my untrained eye he was shot while sitting at the table. There was a pool of blood on the table in front of the empty chair, and he was on his side next to the chair like he'd just tipped over. 6 Link to comment

wallofsound December 7, 2017 Share December 7, 2017 (edited) I’m watching the Tupac show also. I’m partially watching it just to enjoy the old footage of Pac - so handsome, energetic .... The main guy narrating the show is just awful. I want to shake him to have him speed up and just spit out what he is saying. And he constantly has to summarize what was just revealed - things that are clear as day and don’t require summarizing. The show made a point about how Vegas was really promoting an image of an adult Disneyland at that time in the mid 90s and they totally were. Vegas was in a slump prior to that and has really taken off in the past 20 years or so. They did not want to keep rehashing a murder on their main tourist drag. They did not want a long, drawn out trial nearby full of LA gang members. They just wanted the whole mess to go away. Such a shame. And kevin Powell in that ridiculous hat?? You can barely even see his eyes. Edited December 7, 2017 by wallofsound 2 Link to comment

It was so surreal to see that old news footage of the Clutter family, when they were doing that report on their farm and such. And I knew their home was isolated, but man, when they drove out to the land where the house stood, it really drove home just HOW alone they really were. It deals in all the stories/events leading up to all the murders. It weaves together all the reasons and manipulations. There were many reasons the murders took place, not just Helter Skelter. The Tate murders were supposed to be the Melcher murders, Terry Melcher, the son of Doris Day. For those who have never read Helter Skelter, it would be good before watching the show. Another must read is The Family by Ed Sanders. 3 Link to comment
SunnyBeBe December 8, 2017 Share December 8, 2017 If Village of the Damned is carrying their stories in chronological order, then, I wonder why in this last story, there were doors left unlocked. The town had had an entire family slaughtered by a stranger who came into the home. And yet these girls didn't lock their doors? I don't know. I wonder if the residents will get a little more wary as the season progresses. Also, i don't want to make too much of this again, but, in Unusual Suspects last night, the murdered woman has TWO doors with locks that don't work, yet she lives there with young children AFTER being harassed and threatened by some thugs who assaulted her previously......doesn't add up to me. 5 Link to comment

Am I mistaken? 4 hours ago, Brattinella said: Susan Atkins also SAID it was about Helter Skelter, a planned race war and living in a hole in Death Valley. I grew up in LA when this all happened so I read and watched and heard the extensive media coverage at the time, read most of the books. If any of you have not already read Jeff Guinn's recent book Manson I strongly recommend it. Amazingly it actually does cover some new ground. Manson thought that the combination of white victims and Kill the PIgs, etc. written in blood on the walls would immediately lead the police to think that black power radicals were responsible - of course this didn't happen, largely because there was no actual history of black power radical groups slaughtering random white people in their homes and writing Kill the PIgs on the walls and thus no reason for the cops to make this assumption. Another problem in the case was that the La Bianca murders and the Tate murders were in two different precincts so the cops were not working together. Plus, there was such a large quantity of recreational drugs (from the point of view of the cops) in the Tate household that they wasted a great deal of time on the assumption that it was the result of a fight between rival drug dealers. Annber03 December 9, 2017 Share December 9, 2017 Yeah, there's been times off and on in the last couple months where I've seen paranormal-themed shows on the schedule. They're always on really late at night, mind, and it's just a random one-off episode each time, but still, I agree that it seems odd to put them on a channel like this. The fact that she'll be eligible for parole in 2025, which would make it 30 years after Selena's death...talk about even more of a gut punch for her family.
