  • Season 2 wishlist: Stop having Barry/Grant cry so often. Yes, he's good at it, but how saving that for very special occasions, mmmkay?

Can we drop the "My name is Barry Allen..." intro? I'm pretty over it on TV in general, but I also don't think it's necessary.

Please have Iris more involved.

And speaking of Iris, can we get some info on her mother??

I'm hoping they give Iris her comic backstory because that will give her more to do and kind of connect her to the main plot.

I do want to see Killer Frost, I'm just not sure the actress can pull of playing a super villain.

If the Legends Team meets the Flash Team, I want to see Iris and Caitlin talk to Sara and Kendra.

Basically I don't want everything to be all about the boys.

I just don't see how that ending didn't change the timeline significantly.  I mean, I kind of expected Barry to not actually BE the Flash at the end. If Eddie dies and RF isn't born, then he doesn't go back in time and make Barry the Flash earlier so how does Barry have any powers to stop the wormhole anyway?

I really need them to explain that either Eddie isn't dead or how this is a different timeline or you know, Eddie has a kid with a woman that we don't know about.

I also kind of want to know how RF who is from 100+ years in the future is a mortal enemy with our Flash/Barry.

1. This is not going to happen but it's a wishlist. Limit your damn crossovers and concentrate on character development.

2. If you're going to bring over a love interest for Barry, at least bring over Patty Spivot.

3. Stop making Barry so much of a screwup.

4. Iris needs to have storylines that don't have to do with being Barry's love interest. Also give her more to do.

5. less crossovers

6. Can we find something that Cisco isn't able to build out of thin air?

7. Give Caitlin more to do.

8.LESS CROSSOVERS.

Bring back Eddie. Maybe with superpowers, because wormhole.

Bring back Eobard-Wells. Don't give a damn about real Wells, sorry.

Give girls more agency, and create a recurring/regular female character with superpowers or action skills so she could be useful in the field. Kinda like Sara in Arrow s2, it felt very refreshing then.

Get rid of Robbie for good.

Set up LOT really well, don't half-ass it. As it is, I'm way more interested in in than The Flash.

Oh, and my main wish which will never come true, but whatever: end Iris/Barry. It doesn't work. It drags. I don't think Barry/Caitlyn is the way to go either.

First, and far most, female characters need to be properly written. There's potential with Caitlin and Iris. USE IT. Don't turn them into objects (so to speak) for the men to use for their personal angst. Give them a strong voice and have them have their own POV's outside of the men. Iris/Caitlin friendship would be awesome. Also, once mastering this, bring on another female character, so the show is a bit more balanced. But if the females that they have aren't written well, then don't bring on more females, especially in terms of love interests.

I like Caitlin/Ronnie. But I like Ronnie/Robbie in small, recurring doses. But don't split these two up just to appease SnowBarry (or whatever their ship name is) shippers. I don't personally find that they work as love interests, anyway. They need to stay strictly friends.

Less Joe, actually. Actually, less of Joe cheerleading Barry's stupid actions and overprotectiveness of Iris. Just...let him be a dad that's not favouring one child over the other. Also, more Iris/Joe scenes once this is corrected. They need more development because it's just a whole lot of tell-don't-show.

More of Barry doing his job. I mean his actual job. We know he's a smart guy who has built Gideon and is a forensic scientist. Don't make him the idiot of the group, especially when he's the leader. Just because he has powers, doesn't mean his other strengths should go away.

They're gonna have to correct their wormhole issue. They created a severe paradox in where Eobard doesn't exist so Nora should be alive and Barry shouldn't be the Flash until much later. I don't think him being the Flash will be an issue, because he does become the Flash because of Wells and not because of Eobard, but it shouldn't happen until much later so...they gotta fix this mistake and they'll have to bring Eddie back. If they don't, then it makes very little sense for things to 'become normal', so to speak. Things will have to be drastically altered.

Speaking of, if they do actually bring Eddie back (and I don't mind if they have to reduce him to recurring status for this to happen), give him a storyline outside of the love triangle. This triangle has affected Eddie and Iris together because they aren't given much of a voice and it becomes all about Barry (and his scenes with Joe). So...yeah.

So, Cisco can build things in a span of an hour. Either they're going to have to explain that with his powers or they're going to have to address that they kind of keep dropping the ball with picking and choosing what he can build in a flash (pun intended) and why he can't do some things. But that's more me being very nitpicky.

And, once again, write better female characters! Each female character on this show has been written pretty badly, including Linda. Arrow has had better written females than this show, and that show has Laurel! The female characters have potential, but they have literally no voice. Let them do badass things OUTSIDE OF THE MALE'S PERSPECTIVE. It's sickening that Iris gets no voice with her own story, and she only talks to men about her troubles. The only scene that did her justice was her scene with Caitlin in the Gorilla Grodd episode, and that even focused around Ronnie/Barry.

In addition to STOP objectifying the women characters and START giving them agency and their own stories, STOP the fucking crossovers.

Candace Patton is a good actress, one of the best that has ever graced the horrific CW and she stands out among the young leading women across prime time networks. STOP wasting her talent and give Iris more to do.

I give Berlanti credit for improving the diversity of his shows, but he still has that stereotypical 1950s male view of women. No wonder the networks love him, but fuck, it is 2015.

Dear show:

1) Don't pull a Laurel, and have Iris blaming Barry for Eddie's death.

2) A paradox was created when Eddie's death prevented Eobard from ever being born. I don't expect you to get too timey-wimey about it, but you do have a Time Lord, er, Master at your disposal now, so try to make some kind of tv sense out of it at least.

3) Stuff should have changed because of that paradox, so don't try to sweep it all under the rug, and hope that we don't notice.

4) Introduce an ass kicking female character. You don't have any ass kicking female characters; this is an oversight, please correct it.

5) Don't make this  new ass kicking female character another potential love interest for Barry. She can be into Cisco or Joe, or Original Recipe Wells (you know the paradox is going to bring him back from the dead), or Caitlyn.

6) No more love triangles. I don't care if this is the CW; just say no.

While I wouldn't mind an ass kicking female, I would rather they give the females they do have more agency and more to do. Both Iris and Caitlin are brilliant in their own ways. Let them do something besides be the sounding board for the men.

And stop making them stupid for plot.

What I want most of all is to never again have a man explain a female character's POV to another man, especially if said female character never gets a chance to voice her feelings or opinions to a confident. If I never see another conversation about Iris between Joe and Barry instead of with her, it'll be too soon.

I'd like to see someone's mother/aunt/female-cousin play a role.

I want the DA woman Joe is friends with to stick around. She has a moral compass--it's a rare precious thing here.

More respect for women within their relationships, as this season male to male ones have taken precedence over the ones with the females. It's hard to cheer on any romance when the male half respects and values a male person more than his female love interest (Eddie/Iris and Barry/Iris both face this issue).

No love triangles. Barry is awkward and immature, selfish and often unavailable, and it's hard to see what grown women like Linda and Caitlin would see in him (I'll give Iris a pass due to the childhood bond). It'd be painful to watch him bounce between two girls who are bound to be way too good for him.

And speaking of Iris, can we get some info on her mother??

There was a tidbit from City of Heroes where Jesse revealed that Joe has been lying to Iris about her mother's death, and that she's going to play a role next season

I don't think a new female character would (or should) preclude Iris and Caitlyn from becoming more proactive. After all, if Arrow managed to handle more that 2 female characters at once, The Flash can. The problem is it doesn't want to.

Yes! I didn't even realize how much I wanted this until you said it! I want to see more of Barry working at the police station, and maybe using his science know how to solve more crimes. We know he`s a smart guy, you can show us.

I want to see more of Caitlin and Cisco`s friendship. They're two of my favorite characters, and I would love seeing them and their history together, and their connection. Plus, they are both going to become/already are meta humans now, so let them bond over that.

Like everyone else said, more Iris. Always more Iris.

Also, I want them to deal with the repercussions of the use of time travel. The gang seemed to be scary level of cavalier about changing the fabric of time, and possibly ending the world just to save one person. However, when Future Barry told Current Barry not to save his mom, I feel like Future Barry had learned not to mess with the past, or at least to really think of the consequences. I hope we see Barry and everyone learning some important lessons about time travel.

With Iris' mother

Instead of her being adopted, I am now on board with her mother being a time traveler that had to go back to her time to protect Iris. Joe of course lied to Iris and told her mother died. However I'd rather that Joe doesn't know either and thinks his wife just left him and Iris and he lied to Iris to protect her feelings. Then with all this time travel on here and LoT, the mother returns and they both find out that she's from the future.

I know it's boring, but I'd them to address how they can keep STAR Labs running without Wells; or money. That would be a great way to involve Tina Mcgee and the rival company.

1) As everyone said, better written female characters. Iris and Caitlin have set quality traits of their own that shouldn't make them prop up the male characters.

2) Fewer crossovers. Save those for the big events like Flash vs. Arrow. I don't need Felicity to come over every few episodes to say hi. This show can stand on its own without being reminded it was an Arrow spinoff.

3) I would love to hear Grant Gustin sing again. He was great in Glee.

4) I totally want to know more about Captain Singh and his husband.

5) Even though he's on the other spinoff, try to find a way to bring back Victor Garber more often. You can never have too much Victor Garber on TV.

Wishes:

*Crossovers that include every one in this crazy super-hero family, even Baby Sara. (We know she is gathering intel for Uncle Ollie. *g*) That means only once or twice a season. And twice is sort of pushing it. A single character just dropping in is okay, as a cameo or guest role to further plot on this show.

*Tina McGee and Mercury Labs join Our Heroes and give them financial aid and help repair Caitlyn and Cisco's professional reputations.

* Iris' mom's backstory. We don't necessarily need a season-long mystery, but her mom and the background that could bring to Iris and Joe ( and our understanding of them) could be a wonderful way to also get the politely demanded Joe/Iris scenes we didn't have this season.

*Maybe, after some time and being away from the Pipeline, Peek-A-Boo offers to join the Flash Mob and Shawna gets to be our kick ass female character? I can understand why she may not want to work with the Mob, but maybe she would consider it for Dr. McGee?

*I am also on-board with the Barry, the CSI Specialist. His head should theoretically be more in his work game than this past year, so maybe that is how he comes across some cases.

*The Return of GRODD!!!! Someone's father was unceremoniously killed. All bananas abandon hope!

added:

*I want Barry to fight smarter, not harder! If a problem needs a non-speed solution, don't use speed! Let us see Barry be creative in his problem solving so we believe that he eventually comes up with Gideon. If a punch, even at super-speed, won't help the situation, I don't want to see Barry shrugging and hitting whoever.   Barry and Cisco should be science geeks bro'ing  out over every new idea. Let them, please?

*Remember Caitlyn is married and maybe up her scenes with Iris or even Clarissa when Ronnie is away/ Robbie is unavailable. It makes sense and keeps expanding the world.

edited for grammar.

Mine are mostly obvious, and already mentioned, but.....

  • A lot less crossovers.  Contain it to one big crossover event, and the rest to mentions of other shows & hero teams.

  • {this goes for S2 and the rest of the series}  Pick one explanation as to the consequences of time & AU traveling and stick with it!  Don't make up new 'rules' or possible outcomes to make future storylines work.  I can look past bad writing, in terms of false reality or continuity mistakes, but in this case, there needs to be set boundaries; imo.

  • I think I remember reading somewhere that RC & 'Eddie' would not be on the show anymore.  But if he is coming back, don't go back to the Iris/Eddie [iF Barry/Iris is the Show's OTP].  They had their run for most of the first season, but that's over.  And for that matter, no 'meaningless' dalliances for Barry either.  I could handle a short run of Barry/Caitlin, but not if its used solely to keep B/I from happening and an excuse to just roll with the usual CW-tropes of over-the-top melodramatic angst, because you know, "(useless, mind-numbing and boring) Drama FTW!!".

  • A slight calming down of the really heavy emotional stuff in the discussions - in episodes that aren't season premieres/mid-season finales/season finales.  Don't get me wrong, its pretty much always well acted, but sometimes; too much really is too much.

  • Would like to see Barry get a bit better at fighting.  In every encounter, he got beat at least once before finally taking the bad guy down.  Struggling with stronger opponents, ok, but every last one of them??  Worked ok for a 1st season, but will lose its gravitas after too much longer.

I wouldn't stop watching if I don't get what I wanted as described above... but it sure would make the viewing experience better (imo) if those things changed or happened/didn't happen.

Co sign on the idea that the female members of the group need major character development, minus the guys.  I don't want a kick ass woman to appear and steal the minimal thunder Catlin and Iris have already which is meager right now. Both are defined by their love intrests, and both were exclusivly used to further their manpain.

And give Catilin back her brain please, as it seems it took a hike in the final there. There is no way a genius like Catlin would not know basic science, even if engineering/physics is not her forte.

And make Catlin more consistent, in stead of all over the place. First she's mourning Ronnie, then she's over him then she's pinning for him then she's over him again and suddenly she wants to get married? Huh?

Keep Iris away from the damsel in distress each week please. Use her as a reporter etc but don't have her standing aound crying for Flash to rescue her all the time.

1. Eddie back, in whatever capacity, because that voice. Yes, I'm shallow.

2. Iris in on Barry's secret in every timeline, whatever the alternative universe is this time around. I don't want to spend a single additional episode yelling "TELL IRIS ALREADY" at my screen.

3. Iris getting to be awesome, as she was in a couple of episodes this season, not just concerned about her dating life.

4. The show remembering that Caitlin, too, is a scientist, and getting her back on the science track. And 100% agreement on getting her some character consistency.

5. More gorilla!

6. More Mark Hamill/Trickster!

7. A limit to the time travel/alternative universe stuff.  It's fun, but it can also become a crutch to fix mistakes/fan unpopular choices. I'd rather the show not go down that route.

I actually want more of the "Tell, not show" crossovers. I want acknowledgment that they remember each other when they aren't together. "Hey, Cisco, how'd you hack that system so fast?" "Felicity did it." "Oliver, how'd you make a vaccine for that horrible virus?" "Caitlin."

And actually I'd rather have two major crossovers per season than so many of the one person crossovers we got this year. The Arrow episode where they all really talk to each other was my favorite.

I really want them to remember that Barry is supposed to be a scientific genius- or if not genius, at least a wiz of some kind. I just went back and watched his episodes of Arrow in Season 2, and he's almost like a different guy in terms of his intelligence.

Seriously, can you imagine him now saving someone's life the way he did Oliver's in that episode where Felicity brings him in on it? He's a scientist himself and they've completely forgotten about that. Now that Barry I could buy as eventually creating Gideon, but when they revealed that in 1x20 it was like- Barry's smart enough to create artificial intelligence? Oh yeah, he did used to be this kind of science genius, he just hasn't acted like one in months.

Stop revealing the "secret" identity to a new person every week.

Give Joe something to do, like solve crimes that don't involve Barry, have a girlfriend, etc.

Keep Eddie dead, at least for a season

Have Cisco act like an adult

Have Barry act like an adult

Have...well you see where I'm going with this

Explain why they continue to work in STAR Labs when they know it was taken over by Thawne

Show Barry actually doing his other job

Have Iris wear appropriate clothing to work...for her job and for her age

Have Caityln wear appropriate clothing to work, for her job and for her age

Crossovers that do not seem forced

Have Barry appear to be as SMART as we were told he was when he was introduced

Show Iris with some girlfriends, or Barry with friends outside of Joe or Cisco, if only for a few seconds

I don't necessarily mind the fact that everyone seems young (Cisco, Barry, Iris and Caitlin in particular all seem really young, like early 20's even), but I just wonder if maybe they should have aged those guys down by a few years, to college age or something (22-23), so that they won't necessarily seem like they're even younger than they are.

Because that's often how it's coming across I think- I know the actors are all like 25-26, but they could very easily pass for much younger, based on just general demeanor, and maybe if they had actually made them younger, there wouldn't be such a disconnect. Especially Barry and Cisco, who can genuinely come across like teenagers at times.

The Arrow cast by comparison just seems more mature in general, except for people like Thea and Roy, who were supposed to be younger than everyone else.

Cisco stepping up as a hero. And a reveal to the rest of the team that is either badass and heroic or emotionally satisfying. And happens in time for added power in the midseason crossover.

Those awful mustard brown pants Cisco wears are never seen again.

Iris and Barry's relationship getting its inevitable delay because Iris isn't ready to move on/has her own investigative reporter storyline keeping her busy rather than being angry at Barry.

The real Killer Frost look is an improvement over what we saw in the finale.

Ronnie and Caitlin get to be a happy functional married couple for at least a while.

A reasonable explanation of who runs Star Labs with Wells gone. Maybe someone else buys it, maybe Wells left it to Cisco and Caitlin in the event that he disappeared, but I want to see real world consequences for a well-known figure being gone without explanation.

A quick list:

  • Some sort of Flash official recognition by the powers that be, where he is officially called in by Capt. Singh and others to solve crimes and handle metas that they cannot.
  • The Star Labs gang giving up on their extrajudicial prison and working with Iron Heights to create a meta-proof(ish) wing
  • Iris doing a first interview with the Flash
  • Iris and Joe scenes where Joe gets to make up for all the distasteful overprotectiveness he has shown all the first season.
  • Cisco as more than the geeky sidekick/comic relief/deus ex machina. As he showed in the scene where RF "killed" him, Carlos can act.
  • More forensic science
  • Acknowledgement from Barry (and Joe) that some of the things they've done have been quite unheroic
  • Barry remembering at all times the various things he can do
  • No more idiot plots

* The Flash being deputized by CCPD/ Captain Singh.  Hopefully, that would mean that Joe's stupid ' These aren't the metas you're looking for'  "protection" of his fellow cops is forgotten and moved  past.

* The protesters to come back and picket the Lab. Especially after the hole in time and space appeared over downtown. Protesters happen when a city is almost wiped off the planet. Or when it is ground zero for a global catastrophe, even if a super-hero saved the day. Some would be angry that it even a beloved hero would have to save the city from something of that scale.  It doesn't have to be a full-blown story, but this is where those of us wanting Tina McGee and or Real!Wells to step in and try to repair cutting edge science research's reputation with this city and it's people.  It could even be background leading to a villain announcing themselves at a reputation repairing PR event.  In a season of characters not always feeling like they were allowed to react quite like full characters, having the civilians at least get this outlet might go a ways. The protesters can even love Flash, but hate STAR Labs.

*Linda and Iris become friends despite their initial storyline.  I caught the pilot repeat last night and was delighted that Linda was present. Let's not lose her just because she isn't dating Barry. Plus, if we are getting anything on Iris' mom, Iris having someone closer to hand to talk to about stuff makes more sense.

Oh from a character standpoint, there are a few of Flash's Rogues who haven't yet made an appearance on Flash but would be potentially cool:

Abrakadabra

Mirror Master

Captain Boomerang (He made one on Arrow, but I think he would be great to port over to Flash)

Dr. Alchemy/Mr. Element

Some heroes/others we might see:

I forget all the people that Wells said "died" because of the particle accelerator, but he included among them Ralph Dibny, the Elongated Man. I would like the Flash Mob to be checking into each of these alleged deaths to see if they are still alive metas.

Jay Garrick's helmet was shown as a result of the time wormhole, so it wouldn't be the worst thing for him (or a number of other non-homicidal speedsters) to make a guest appearance or two.

I would like to see some of more of the Justice Society folks. Specifically, I think it would be cool if we had Mr. Terrific and Hourman.

We've had a few hints now as to the existence of Hal Jordan. I'm sure special effects won't allow it, but even a civilian Hal Jordan, or for that matter, John Stewart, or Guy Gardner. (On a side note, I've sometimes hoped that Diggle from Arrow has to change his name to "John Stewart" for some reason)

Another CSI for the Central City Police Department (and potentially Flash love interest Patty Spivot).

A couple folks I wouldn't mind a return appearance from:

Weather Wizard

Pied Piper

Trickster(s)

Grodd (whose intelligence has hopefully continued to evolve)

Eiling

Plastique

Arcs for each of our main characters develop over the season. To wit:

Barry - Now that he has a basic understanding of what he can do, I'd like to see him push the limits in terms of not only the amount of speed he can get up to but his other tricks. I would like to see him see the bigger picture. Above all, I would like to see him be less gullible and more of a classic hero. I'd like to see him realize that while saving his mother and getting justice for his father are important, there are larger goals at play. And again, while he has strong feelings for Iris, that is not and should not be the prime motivator for him. I think he needs to come to grips with the classic "with great power comes great responsibility" to borrow the line from Spider-Man. I would like to see him step up and be the leader of the group, rather than depending on Wells or Joe or anyone else to decide what their next step is. I wouldn't mind seeing him build a primitive version of Gideon, actually, or recover the advanced version somehow.

Iris - Now that she's in the know about the Flash Mob, I would like to see her help the group out more. She should develop more skill as a reporter, and use her reporting techniques to help Barry know where, when, and how to find the bad guys. She should be keeping up with all the weirdness that is out there. She should still be a little steamed about the overprotectiveness of Barry and Joe, and I would love it if she rules anything romantic with anyone for basically the entire season. She just lost, or quasi-lost, her fiance. She shouldn't be snuggling up to Barry (or anyone) any time soon. I would love for her to get more of her own POV and a sense that she has a world beyond Barry, Joe, Eddie and the paper/Jitters.

Cisco - In addition to what I mentioned above, I'd like to see if he could discover his meta talents.

Caitlin - I would like to see her have more of a life outside the Flash Mob. In terms of Ronnie, I guess I would like to see them explore the weirdness of getting married to someone who is really two someones, who can't be in one place for fear of being hunted by the government. I also would like to see her start down the road to experimenting with things to make Ronnie normal, experiments that I'd imagine would ultimately lead to her becoming something else.

Joe - Again, I think they need to write the guy so that he's not making crazy, over-protective decisions. Let him be the occasionally gruff but good-natured father figure he was meant to be.

I don't want mopy depressed Iris. I want an Iris determined to see that Eddie's sacrafice isn't wasted. By motivating her to the fight. And I don't mean to the mask. I mean perhaps putting herself into her career and fighting the bad guys via investigations and the way she could herself be called flash (well back in the day anyway)-her pictures.

And/or perhaps she can decide it's not right that Eddie had to sacrifice himself and she reserches time travel and alternate universes. She wants Eddie to have a chance to make a decision if he could know more. Future Iris (ie present Iris) can save Eddie from future Eobard Thawne in the past (a return to the season 1 finale). Though she won't be able too. I think it would make a cool 2A finale or in a LOT cross over perhaps.

And then once that is settled Iris could focus on her own mother. Barry and her can start to re-bond over lost mothers.

I just realized that in the crossover eps, I would really like to see Barry superspeed Oliver or Diggle away. I really want to see how they'd react. I have this image of Flash saving Oliver Queen getting photographed and ending up a headline news story and totally pissing Oliver off.

Would Oliver burn his clothes off in the process? It's only fair since it happened to Felicity.

Cisco discovers his powers and becomes Vibe.

Barry moves out of his foster dad's house (again). Hopefully he and Cisco get a place together, just to watch the comradely.

Mark Hamill back, hopefully right before The Force Awakens hits theaters.

Andy Minteus back as Pied Piper. Piper's too good not to have him back.

Captain Sing's wedding to his boyfriend.

Suddenly very on-board with this idea.

Captain Sing's wedding to his boyfriend.

They're already married. They were on their honeymoon which was why Joe asked the DA for help escorting the metas to ARGUS instead of the Captain.

Despite wanting less crossovers, I'd be ok with them doing a rare crossover of Barry/Flash with another dimension/universe's Arrow team.  Like maybe the AU Arrow team would be almost exact carbon copies of their comic canon selves, at least in terms of OQ/GA, LL/BC, and TQ/Speedy - are Diggle and his new upcoming costumed persona an originally comic thing, too?

If done well, I would be down for AU crossovers, as described above.

I wish the writers would dispense with the teen romance/angst tropes that are seemingly required for most CW shows. Re-watching "All Star Team Up", it's clear these writers fail at dialogue between romantic couples.

That's what has and most likely will continue to kill my enjoyment of Arrow (and will bring Flash down too if they drag out the WT-WT as long as they [think its possible] can on 'WestAllen').  I don't have a problem with 'romantic entanglements' on superhero shows, but when it becomes the main focus and overshadows everything, that's when its a glaring problem.  Any real romance should be overshadowed by DC comic book stuff, not at the forefront.

I've learned to begrudgingly accept 'Olicity', despite its unnatural start and unlikelyhood of continuing, but its best to ignore as much as possible then ruin the whole Arrow experience because of not liking it.  The thing that just plain irks me is how much TPTB rub our noses in the 'Olicity' and since the end of S2, Felicity has turned into an exaggeratedly over-emotional parody of herself, who is 99.99% of the time right on the verge of drowning in her own waterworks.

YMMV, but its much more than the just dialogue that this universe's writers/directors fail at when it comes to portraying romantic couples.
