It's crazy how Kendra has that chubby-faced youthful cuteness while Kaylee looks like a 45 year-old mother of six that's trying to make her way west after the Dustbowl. I've never seen such a haggard looking teenager. Please feed that girl some carbs, asap.

Kendra likely hasn't spent months on end on a stink bus, and there's only half as many kids to compete for food and attention.  She's not stressed by overcrowding and actually gets a good nights sleep.  Hence, her fresh, dewy complexion vs haggard Rodriguii. It's criminal how those parents believe those kids are healthy.  You only need take one look at them to see they are well and truly sick. Just keep caking makeup on your daughters, Jill.  You can't hide that kind of sickly ghastly pallor no matter how much makeup you cake on them.

A lady on their FB page mentioned she had a ton of clothes for her sons. Jill replied thank you bless you something like that which would explain their beyond strange clothing choices. I wonder if the church ladies empty out their 1980's closets to donate to Jill's girls?

That might explain the clothes to a point, but since Jill also seems stuck in the 80's regarding hair and makeup, I doubt that that is the only reason.

The Duggars are part of a fundamentalist Christian cult.  The Rodriguez family reminds me more of old movie portrayals of gypsies.  I can't imagine what these two families have in common besides their religion. I mean its at least somewhat important to the Dugaars to appear normal.

The Duggars seem like clean cut preppies in comparison.

One would think, or at least I think, that kids that spend a fair amount of time living in an RV would have a hint of color, because they would be running around outdoors the minute they came to a stop. Even in the age of sunscreen most kids show some color and glow from being outdoors.

I cannot get past the feathered, blown out hair. They would look soooo much more normal with an updated hairstyle.

Even still, someone should still send them all the cookies. It's interestingly sad to see how skeletal the kids are. Considering a lot of cheap foods are just empty calorie junk, it implies that they really aren't eating anything, not that they're eating unhealthy junk food. That's even more negligent than feeding your kids chips and processed food, IMO. They literally can't feed their family and yet they're proud of adding to it.

As I recall, Jill found a fundie orthodontist who is donating his services.  When it comes to her kids, she doesn't spare any expense; as long as it's free.  Free clothes, free food, free orthodontia.

If you check out her blog, there are lots of full length photos of Jill.  She has a medium frame and weighs significantly more than any of her kids.  Looking at her and her husband, its very clear that none of the kids are naturally thin due to heredity.  Well, that and the fact that the kids also look sickly in addition to being underweight.

Yes, the full length photos I'd seen of her prior to her with the Plexus showed a medium framed woman, but in that photo, she looked very thin. But, she was trying to lose weight on purpose.  Her kids, however, are emaciated.  Their look as you mentioned is definitely not due to heredity. Feel so sorry for those kids.

To be fair, it may be that the kids just have the metabolism when they are young to stay very thin. The sickly look is far more worrying than just a very thin frame. my husband's family are all that way - just like their father. They are built like stick insects until they hit their 30's, then suddenly get quite rotund around the middle despite still being, for the most part, not particularly overweight for their height. Mr Jyn, at 5'9", weighed 115 on a fat day back when I met him, and pretty much lived on pizza.

Except that they are probably too weak from their starvation diet to run around outdoors.  Plus between doing their school work, "practicing" their chosen weapon instrument, taking care of the younger children and doing their chores, I don't think they have much free time.  Wasn't there some video somewhere where the kids had to wait for their parents to enjoy the ocean before they were allowed anywhere near it?  Or was that just a dream I had?

That statement was about food, but I also think the lack of nourishment can also mean about having a nice stable home life for your children verses having a traveling dog & pony show on the road.

I can't remember if it was Erin's or Michael's wedding, but the Rodriguii crashed a Bateseses affair and posted pictures with everyone, and all the people in the pics had that same terrified "who the fuck are these crazies?" expression. Jill R was all smiley and the various Bates and Duggars looked like they couldn't wait to get away from her.
