Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

That post is basically a Jill's greatest hits. Random capitalization, fun facts that are not fun at all, makes post that's not supposed to be about her all about her, random emoji use.

Eta, forgot about 'did you know my sister Amy is a quadriplegic!' and tagging her, like Amy and her husband had forgotten all about that 'fun fact'.

When your entire education is little more than reading the KJV bible and social media fan pages about yourself and your family, this is what you get. Jill writes at a grade-school level with random KJV words thrown in the mix. She uses emojis, random capital letters, bolding and quotation marks to convey what she can't express in words. Because Jill is a narcissist, her favorite topic is Jill, of course!

Poor Amy. She must depend on Jill to some extent or she wouldn't put up with the thoughtless behavior. Maybe some day Jill will be in a similar situation, and Amy will have the last word.

She's dressed for cold weather, shirt and leggings under her dress too 😦

To be fair, I have a smaller-than-average 8 year old who also dresses like this daily, even in the summer.  Booties, leggings, dress…she even wears a cardigan with it some days.  I buy other options and they  never get worn. 🤷🏻‍♀️  I hope that Sofia picked her own clothes, that this is an outfit that she loves and feels confident wearing.

Nurie and Nathan’s house shows pretty well in the pictures, my personal preferences put to the side. They don’t have a bunch of “stuff” around like BME.

Looks like they lived about 5 miles from Nathan’s parents.

They bought it last year for $35,000.

They bought a house.  For $35,000.  REALLY?? AND WHERE WAS THIS?? (I am out of the loop).  Where I live you would get a shed with an outhouse for that much money.  My parents bought an old house in 1962 for $13,000.  Fixed it up over the years.  Sold a few years ago for $449,000.  This day and age?  That place (Nurthan's) must be a shithole.  (JMO)

It’s in Florida. Having only seen pictures, I wouldn’t personally classify it as a shithole. It did need work when they bought it. Compared to others nearby, their current asking price is high. It’s 2 bedrooms and 912 square feet.

I would agree with this except that we never, EVER, see Sofia in clothing that fits her properly.  Even if she prefers loose fitting clothing, surely she has some stuff she has at least grown into.  Also, I cannot picture any active child choosing to wear shoes that are a couple sizes too big every day.  She has been seen in multiple pairs of shoes and boots and, yet, we never see her in shoes that fit, even when they're hiking or playing  mini-golf or participating in activities where having well-fitting shoes is a safety issue.

Sorry for that.  I just couldn't imagine a house for $35,000.  My brother just moved to FL from MA.  His condo cost over a million.  So I guess I have no way to know.

Isn't it a mobile home.   NEW mobile homes go for under $50K.   2 bedroom, 2 bath ones even.   Mobile homes are a really affordable way to get started in a house, instead of an apartment.   if you keep them nice, you can't even tell they are a mobile home.

LOTS of mobile homes in Florida for the snowbirds.   No one wants to own a house-house they are in for only 6 months of the year, and would have a 30 year mortgage on.   You buy a mobile home and pay it off quick.

Nurthan's house looks clean and uncluttered. The bath is nice. The carpet is new, and there is central air. The kitchen, however, has a bad layout and mismatched, badly painted cabinets. I doubt they'll get their asking price, but I'm curious how eager they are to sell and move to wherever they're going that doesn't need furniture.

Does anyone have a link for the house for sale?

Just go to a listing site for Interlachen, Florida, and look for houses in that price range. Jill's kitchen makeover identifies the place.

It isn't a mobile home, but it looks like one of those pre-fab manufactured homes that are so common in Florida.  The kitchen cabinets are a complete eyesore, but, otherwise, it is clean and neat and looks like things are in fairly good repair.  They've definitely improved it since they moved in, but I don't think they're going to get the price that they're asking, especially now that mortgage rates are rising and the market is cooling.

Okay. I looked at the photos of Casa de Nurthan and it reeks of Jill. The decor is very 1980’s. The window treatments are supposed to look “classy” I suppose, but really don’t do anything for the space (or lack thereof), the wallpaper border is seriously 1980’s. I’m surprised they don’t have the oak bentwood rocker everyone seemed to have at that time, and why WHY does the backsplash continue past the kitchen counter?
Another handy hint-it’s a small home so don’t fill it with large overstuffed furniture!

I assume the picture in the listing is the home after it was staged. Who knows how it looked beforehand.

Jill has posted a new update on her mother.  I can't post it here because I am not tech-savvy enough. She says her mom has had a set back and one side of her face is swollen.  This is due to an infection her " head gland". Head gland is a new term to me. I am not sure which gland she is referring to because there are various glands in the head. The doctors re-routed the central line and Pat is back on a liquid diet.

It's a new term to ,me, too, and I've been to med school.  I presume she has a bacterial infection or something post op.  Poor lady, this is how it goes after major neurologic injuries though.

I think 'head glands' may refer to the lymph nodes in the head and neck which become swollen with infections.  Like the swollen glands we hear about when kids have tonsillitis and such.

Jill’s 2 most recent posts, posted about 10 minutes apart. I am not including pictures:

It seems we take 3 steps forward with my Mom and then 2 back!  😢😫😭  Please pray for my precious Mother still.  This picture was on one of her best days, but the last couple of days, she has not done so well.  The right side of her face swelled up HUGE!  The infection in her head gland due to the Central Drain Line, was causing my mom great pain.  ☹️  They had to re-route it due to the infection and she is back on a feeding tube / liquid diet for the next couple of days.  She has been more confused and sleeping a lot.  😴  My heart has been SO heavy and I have suffered from extreme fatigue from over a week of not sleeping well.  Last night, I prayed for a long, restful night of sleep and God gave it to me.  I am blessed. 😊 Please continue to pray for my sweet Daddy.  He gave us (me and my 3 precious sisters) these words and Scriptures last night....

"I love you girls, you are such a source of strength and comfort ❤️.  I have peace that Our Lord is watching over Mom and I pray 🙏 He gives you that peace as well. I was reading in Luke 5 when the leper came to Jesus and said, 'If thou wilt thou canst make me whole'. And Jesus said, 'I will, be thou clean'.  Then the man with the palsy was lowered through the roof, and Jesus said, 'Arise, take up thy couch,  and go into thine house.'  And he departed to his own house, glorifying God.

It seemed as if God was speaking to me. Nothing  has changed.  God longs for us to glorify Him, which He so richly deserves.  Again I love ❤️ you more than words can say."  Dad

With Timothy Noyes

.

Part of me wants to stop asking all of you generous, kind people to give. 😬  But then I think of how my sweet Daddy is not able to work (which he needs to financially).  I think about when my mom "wakes up" mentally.  I want her to have to have NO reason for stress over their finances.  This is a LONG journey to recovery and I humbly beg of each of you to help my parents get through this dark valley.  Thank you from the DEPTHS of my heart!  🥰

It seems that instead of begging for money, some able bodied people in the Noyes/Rodrigues family should get jobs. If they feel that strongly that someone stay with mama, arrange a schedule & the rest can work. Why should anyone contribute their hard earned money when Jill, her dad & who knows how many others aren’t working.

You can include Jill's hubby in the non-working crowd, too.

So, Jill has been shilling for the Noyes' GFM non-stop for 10 days now and has managed to raise $4500, a little more than 20% of her goal.  She needs to get a clue and realize that she has managed to saturate the market and it is time to find another way to make money-like going out and getting a job herself.  Or, maybe Daddy Noyes goes back to work part-time, at least.  You know, like regular families do in tough situations.

I'm a little surprised that Jill didn't include photos of Mama's swollen face for effect.  I hope a member of the hospital staff took her phone out of her hand and smashed it if she tried.

I wonder if Nurthans are moving to have another bedroom for the new baby.  But it seems weird not to take their furniture unless they are purchasing a fully furnished home.

Has anybody commented on Jill’s SM that they should get jobs instead of begging for money?  I’m blocked from even seeing her FB page (I’m guessing she probably saw some comment I made on some other snark page) and I think her IG is private, so I only know about what she posts through you all.  I imagine she’s glued to her phone, though, quickly deleting comments that dare to suggest they get jobs like the rest of us.  Evil awful woman.

That's such BS. She's always asking for donations for this or that. She also doesn't exaclty say what the money will be for. Food, rent, medical bills?

Her father could go to work while other adults in the family stay with his wife.

It is horrible that people that age have no choice to work. It should not be that way, but that's what you get for electing people against social services.

I hope Mrs. Noyes's infection didn't come from one of the unmasked, unwashed family members leaning over her, breathing in her face and touching her. Jill has no desire to stop asking for money. It's what she does best in life. I understand that Pa Noyes doesn't want to go back to work, but I'm not sure why he can't if they need the money.

On Jill’s Facebook story, she said that she and several other family members had made a schedule, so that one of them would be with Ma at all times.  She didn’t mention Pa Noyes being part of that schedule.  If there’s going to be someone there constantly, not counting Pa, then WTH can’t he go back to work?  I’m starting to wonder if he’s a grifter just like his daughter.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree...  I think, like Jill, he expects others to step up and give him stuff just because he's the right kind of Christian.

I get that, as her husband of many years, Daddy probably wants to be with her as much as possible.  However, I hate to say it, but, right now, it seems that Mama is a bit confused and sleeping most of the time anyway.  She probably doesn't even realize when he is there or not and doesn't sense the passing of time. Unless the doctors feel she is in imminent peril, he really should think about going back to work for a few days and then returning on the weekend.  People do it all the time.

They could even give plasma for pay. They could make a few hundred a month, per person doing this. That adds up when you’ve got eleventy billion people in the family.

Thank you, I must’ve missed that.  So knowing that, why do TWO people need to be there all the time?  The short answer to that question is, they don’t.  I’m still flabbergasted that the hospital is allowing visitors to traipse in and out of ICU every day!  I’ve never seen or heard of anything like that before!  And now Ma has an infection after Jill has messed with her hair/face/nails and the Rod kids have laid all over her.  IMO, it’s insane that the ICU staff is allowing this to continue!  Does anyone know what hospital Ma is in?  I want to find out what time visiting hours are in the ICU.

Yeah, the rest of the family needs to get off their asses so a SEVENTY YEAR OLD man doesn't have to work.   Notice that Jill doesn't want HER MOTHER worrying about finances, but Daddy can as long as it means Jill doesn't have to actually WORK.   Or her special husband either.
