Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

In the photos of the Christmas tree shopping- why do the boys have on appropriate winter hats but none of the girls are wearing hats? 🤬🥲

One never knows when one might bump into a potential husband - and how will he know you're a girl unless you show him that you have hair all the way down to your waist?

I feel sorry for those girls in so many ways, but the fact that they are always seen in makeup with long, curled hair bugs me because I assume Jill sees her daughters as extensions of herself - she could be their sister, after all! - so any time they go out in public they all have to be groomed to certain standards.  These poor girls might never know how comfortable it is to go out in leggings and a sweatshirt, or to understand that they don't need makeup to be considered beautiful.

Excuse me, but I believe the term is “bonnets.” 😉

According to Reddit, the dress Brianne is modeling was one that a Rodrigues fan from Australia sewed and sent to one of Jill’s daughters.  And Jill is selling it.  She really is a fking ***.

How long did she have them?

Doesn't their cult have a thing about working for other people? Like its not Godly or something.  I wonder if the rule is relaxed if you work for Hobby Lobby or Chick Fil A

I don’t think the female folk are allowed to work. Remember the rules the Rods put in place for their daughters? Once they get married they have to live close by, and never ever work outside the home. I would imagine they wouldn’t even consider letting their unmarried female spawn get a job. They might be influenced by some ungodly heathens.

Someone just posted Jill and the girls' new "music video" on Reddit.  I watched with the sound off.  I understand it's far more disturbing with the sound on but I want to sleep tonight.

I watched it without the sound on and I'm still going to have nightmares! And poor Hannah, what has your mother done to you?

I’ve seen horror movies that started like this.

Oh, no!  I think Hannah is beautiful!  What has Jill done to her?

Nothing too permanent, except for the eyebrows. The video has some terrible face-time-y thing that makes her mouth look huge and like she has this cartoonish pointed chin.

Jill wants to pass as their sister and not their mother so much. But at the same time she doesn't want any of them to be more attractive then her. So she piles on the makeup, curly hair and terrible clothing.

But their hair down to their waists would still be visible because hats only cover the tops of their heads?🤷‍♀️

I think Jill’s mom worked for years? Not sure where.

Please watch on Reddit. Don't give this bitch clicks.

I don’t think her account is monetized? (Not that I would ever click either way, because those are my personal rules). But NEVER click on a Bates or Duggar related video or link, because why contribute to the bank accounts of these deplorable, exploitative grifters.

We laugh but honestly, they have no stage presence despite having performed most of their lives. They move robotic and simplistic. It is just bad.

This video is like the circa 1970 Sears Portrait of music videos with the synchronized poses that Jill probably thinks are very demure, very clever.  The feet splashing and the leaves are so cliche, it's like a caricature within a parody, except Jill is deadly serious.

Because nothing says "I love my daughters!" than dressing them identically in some kind of Pepto-pink backyard Sound of Music ripoff outfits, destroying their eyebrows and making them sing while morphing their faces into something out of a nightmare.  That should get the young men a' runnin' to the Barndo door.

I wonder how many freaking takes these girls had to go through until Jill deemed it perfect.  If you look closely at the segment where they are singing under a tree, right before the scene cuts you can see Tessie's face go from performatively happy to bored and PO'd.

I was thinking more about that insane music video after the shock wore off. What is the point of it? What does Jill hope to accomplish with it? Does she truly believe it will help them win souls to Jesus (or whatever wacky phrase she uses)?

Also, why was the lip syncing wildly off in places? Were they really in slow mo or did Jill make them walk suuuuper slowly in places so it would seem like they were? So many questions.

It really did seem like a video of a cult from the 1980s.

Her account is not monetized. I think Jill wishes for that. But she recently bragged about the number of views the Sam/Brianne courtship video received.

Positive or negative views make no difference to Jill.

She lives in this state of fantasy where she is a beautiful, successful, self-sacrificing wife, mother and Christian and the embodiment of who you should aspire to be, although you will never attain her level because you will never be godly enough.  I think she also believes that she invented the Family Band concept or at the very least, her family's music and harmonizing is far better than anyone else's and demands to be heard.  I know people like this in real life, where they believe that their opinion, while not asked, is necessary to every conversation.  As an introvert, I find it both fascinating and annoying.

1.  the latest get rich quick scheme -- The Rodriguez Ladies album.   because the last family album did so well.

2.  Jill gets to pretend she looks like just her daughters to everyone who sees the videos.

She has to raise money for the plexus cruise, hence the clothes and now this.

It is interesting. I have gone to her Etsy site and now I will be on a completely different webpage and her daughters will pop up.

Yup. This was precisely my reason for steering everyone away from her YT. It inflates her already sky high ego.

She should’ve done a Christmas album. This stuff is nonsense. There’s some very holy secular songs, plus they could belt out a little amazing grace. I still don’t hear anyone singing but Jill.

Yeah, you could barely hear the girls' harmony due to Jill's caterwauling. She doesn't trust her daughters to carry the lead.
