Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

The Politics Policy is still in effect. A participants social media is NOT an invitation to discuss their political view points. Consider if discussion of certain social media posts will cause you to violate the politics policy BEFORE you hit the "Submit Reply" button.

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

Taking about love and acceptance, hanging out with prostitutes and lepers.

I don’t believe for one second that Jill’s dad ever actually said those ridiculous words.

Jill wouldn’t hang out with a prostitute if her life depended on it.

Yeah he mom just had knee surgery.   She would need a lot of help.   More than 71 old dad could give.   But nooooo special Jilly cannot miss out on her convention where she can get told how special she is.   Heavens, if she had been with her mom, she might have missed out out on the real ruby earrings.   We can't have that now can we?

She pitched a fit when confronted with a trans woman. Remember that one? It was epic.

She pitched a fit b/c she gave a lower-status xtian woman from her own church a ride home from the hospital. She is ugly inside and out.

What's wild is I'm sure she's been in the company of one and had no idea that the lovely woman she was talking to was sex-work positive.  Those kinds of things make me happy to think about.

Jill mentioned in her last post that the pastor of Pat's church traveled with Pa Turtleneck to the hospital in Columbus. She noted that the pastor stayed all day. Would Ben Seewald make such a trip?

That pastor went above and beyond his duties, so I would not hold it against Ben if he did not do the same.  I am assuming he chose to drive Pa Turtleneck to Columbus due to Pa being in no condition for the drive.  He most likely stayed one night before returning home and handed Ma Turtleneck over to the hospital chaplain.

I had a thought (or a zillion and this is just one)...

Could it be that JillR is really a bundle of anxiety worrying about where her next grifted dollar is going to come from, but she, like many, puts up this false kumbaya picture up on SM?

For once, I don't see any grifting in her hospital posts. They're even about people not named Jill for the most part.

Don’t worry, it’s coming. She’ll be begging for $$ next week because David hasn’t been able to “work” due to being at the hospital with her.

I bet the kids could run the printing press. That's the only thing he does that remotely resembles work.

Remember, they were destitute and begging after the Ohio Derecho storm, because David couldn’t “work” for a few days. Even though they took off in their RV just a day or so later, then spent 3 days in a hotel in Columbus.

A good portion of JillR's followers are like Pavlov's dogs - she just needs to post a sob story and they automatically pull out their checkbooks and mail Jill a check. She doesn't even need to ask - she just rings the bell.

I wonder if she's going to start a "gotome fund" for the Turtlenecks? I assume they have Medicare, but there are other expenses, like the Life Flight copter.

The average Med Evac chopper ride costs upwards of $40,000.  Some insurance plans may cover it, many don't.  The cost is due to the cost of owning or renting and maintaining the chopper, the cost of medical equipment for it as well as the cost of the medical pros who do the transport.  In addition to the pilot, there is usually at least one doctor and one nurse on each flight.

Also, because they tend to fly under hazardous conditions, landing in fields and parking lots, often at night or bad weather; the liability insurance required is very expensive.

He told me if I'm ever in a situation and they want to chopper me out, unless I am unconscious tell them NO! Seriously, I do not there are times that they have no choice, you would think it would be covered.

After having a heart attack, my husband was air lifted from our small local hospital to Cincinnati for care. This was in 2018. Our insurance was billed  $31,000 and paid, but I think for a slightly lesser agreed upon amount. We were fortunate the cost was covered and the quick transport time resulted in rapid treatment and a good outcome.

I hope Jill's father doesn't have medical cost concerns as he worries about his wife's situation. If Jill does start a GoToMeFund, it will be interesting to see how she spins it.

What her sister is relaying about her mother reminds me of when my late father had a stroke during an operation for a blood clot.  After surgery he was moving his arms constantly.  My dad's worst effect was with his speech although he had good usage of both arms and legs.  There were definite personality changes.  Jill might see major changes in her mother's personality.

It would be about a two and a half hour drive; I think it's a pretty sure bet she was sent by air.  Hospitals in WVa send patients by helicopter to Columbus all the time.  It would be difficult to find a regular ambulance with appropriate critical care equipment and staffing to do a transfer for that distance.

I hope this doesn't come across insensitive, because I'm genuinely just curious and a little perplexed - Jill sounded SO devastated by her mother's stroke and so desperate for prayers and medical procedures - and a miracle - to save her mother's life (prolong it). But how does that jibe with God's will and Jill's fervent belief that her mother (and all "true" Christians) are saved and will be in heaven in the glorious company of the Lord when they pass on? Why is Jill SO desperate for her mother to keep living, possibly in a much poorer state of health? Is it just about the grief that her father will suffer? It does confuse me a bit.

This all confuses me a bit too. Same as using life support when the prognosis is grim. When does "God's timing" come in?

I'm wiliing to give Jill a little slack here, while thinking she probably over-dramatized things .  Her mother is only 73 (that's 3+ years older than I am), and perhaps no chronic health problems.  I can imagine it was a major shock.  I think her mother's condition was serious, but maybe not exactly at death's door.   I can understand her not being ready to give up Mom.

One of her posts called Pat's condition "CRITICAL" (caps hers). We don't know if a doctor, paramedic, or some other professional used that word. She may have surveyed the situation herself once Pat got to Columbus and used the term on her own.

I hope that Jill took the time to tell off all the female nurses and doctors who dared to wear pants to their job. They may be able to stop a brain bleed and save her mother's life, but they're still godless whores.

You would think that the suckers who've been giving her money would put two and two together and cut her off after that (she's not even trying to hide her lavish spending). But, no, they probably won't.

My Dad's Tears....  💦💦  Let Me Explain...

When we were at my parent's house for the 4th of July weekend, we did a bunch of projects for them....put in a new floor, hung wallpaper, painted 3 rooms, and installed waynescoating in their dining room.  They were so encouraged when we left....YET there was still much to be done.  🤪

So, when we were at the hospital and I looked into my Dad's weary eyes, I tried to cheer him up and told him we could come back to their house and finish getting the entire house finished for them.  He burst into tears and said...

"I don't care about ANY of that without Mommy!  Without her, I could live in a shack!" He exclaimed with tears spilling from his eyes.

My heart nearly broke in two watching his broken heart, 💔 bleeding with grief.

**BUT....today there is GREAT Hope!  👍🏻 My Mom, since her brain bleed was surgically stopped, has shown improvements in leaps and bounds!  Today when a friend of ours delivered pizza at the hospital -(thank you, Kevin Burlew ), my mom looked him in the eyes and said, "Thank you, Kevin!"  Then, when my dear sister- Amy Foster- rolled up to my mom's bedside in her wheelchair, she said to her, "I love you, Ma!"  Ma (who would do ANYTHING to try to bring sweet Amy joy) with labor, responded, "I love you too!"  That is FOUR words in a row!

We have wept with joy at these small improvements and it leaves us with SOARING hope!  Thank you for your prayers!  ❤️

James 5:16 "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

With Timothy Noyes

Notice how she made sure to mention they practically renovated the house while they were.   Noooo, this wasn't a grifting trip, they were WORKING.

Yesterday her mom was "critical" and now she is speaking?   It's a MIRACLE.   I mean I am glad she is okay.   But I'm starting to wonder if the medical situation was really that bad.

I read some anecdotes elsewhere about people who had the same type of stroke. They can rally like Pat seemingly has, but have another incident and be dead in a week. We also don't know how well she's speaking. It could be slow, hesitant, or slurred. Or all of the above. I'm glad she's conscious, but after reading a few horror stories, I am cautious.

I don't get the impression that the Noyeses are that well off. According to a comment left on Jill's FB, Pat worked at a Rite Aid after moving to WV, so they apparently needed the money.

Oh, me neither. But it is Jill and I don’t think she’d be ashamed to suggest it, and he is her dad so he might feel for her and the kids and want to help out.

However, I have no idea what their family dynamic is.

Well, I'm guessing they were all at least fed while they were there. So in away they were paid.
