To be honest about it, I do not think Rose and Lacey M should have been brought into TC. Rose could not remember who said one of the most famous quotes one of our presidents ever made, and she did not seem to be DCC material to me. Lacey M seemed to be phony right off the bat, and only wanted to be a DCC for her five minutes of fame. In a way, she reminds me of current DCC Tasha. Once again, I think Kelli and Judy do not always have the complete say so in who does or does not make it to TC.

Lacey Minchew was in Season 4 along with her sister who I cannot remember her name. She came off as plastic and phony. Her sister tried out again in Season 5, and Judy was not happy about it all and ripped into her at finals. She went on to be a Dallas Maverick Dancer.

Kenley

I don't even think rose was irritated at them I think it was just the situation. Sort of a "what can I do???" And she would have done more to fix it. Rose is also pretty well trained in jazz. The first or second week I believe Kelli asked her dance experience and in front of the whole TC class she said "wow, I would have guessed you've been dancing about a year or two."

So...yeah. You can see her frustration. Rose has pretty turns, long kicks and extension, but can seem clunky since her long legs and arms are slightly gangly and noodley. Again, justified cut, but I wish K+J would have maybe given her a little bit more faith or explanation.

Kelli is not a teacher and doesn't really know how to explain how to fix awkward.  That is why the TCC receive all sorts of weird metaphors as feedback.  A teacher can explain what she is seeing and what she doesn't like and explain better on how to improve that part of the dancing or count that is being perceived as awkward.  Sometimes the vets can explain better on how to correct a movement but not all of them are teachers.  I am looking forward to this year's audition!

Kelli is educated in dance though, and has been directing the DCC for decades, so I guess I don't understand why she can't be more specific and give real corrections. Judy too. I dunno, just seems silly to me.

I think it's probably because Kelli is kinda a btch and really just thinks it's funny to humiliate these girls when in reality, she could be a lot nicer and more constructive.  I really look forward to the day that Kelli has her hail Mary moment.

I seem to remember that Kenley went on to dance in the NFL for several years and was on two different teams.

Two seasons (10-11, 11-12) with the Dallas Mavs dancers and one season (13-14) with Atlanta Falcons cheerleaders. I don't think she's done anything beyond that. She must gotten married because she's now Kenley Minchew LeBlanc according to LinkedIn.

Her sister Lacey is married to Patriots QB Matt Flynn.

I think that sometimes and other times I don't. She confuses me because sometimes she seems caring and compassionate towards the girls and other times she just seems downright mean. I've got whiplash!

This.  Thank you for writing this!!!!!  I have thought the same thing year after year and I have never danced a step in my life.  If K&J know dance so well, tell the girl what the hell is the matter with her dancing!  They phrase their criticisms so oddly.  If the TCC is going to learn anything it needs to be communicated to her in proper English.  Grrrr....

Rose went to a few prep classes at valley ranch and danced for stephanie di biase for two years who is a choreographer for dcc. I don't think she was blind sided. As a dancer we can be a little...extra expressive lol. Yes some of kellis metaphors make you think twice but a majority of the time we get them. Sometimes there is a vagueness that just doesn't come across clearly though. And "feet" could be anything, staying on your toes, pointed toes, foot closures, ankle strength/flexibility, even just simply MOVING your feet correctly with the steps. I feel for rose but she seems happy now.

I loved Rose's look. She was one of the more natural, not over done girls. Glad she's landed somewhere that makes her happy.

I wonder if she'll stay with the Charger Girls now that the football team is moving to LA

There was a season Kelli made the comment about a vet whose solo was bad as a "locker room favorite".  Was she referring to Morgan?

Yes, she was referring to Morgan. She was also late to her panel interview.

I actually kind of liked the Minchew sisters. It didn't seem like an unreasonable expectation going into auditions to have a weekend during the summer to pass a crown, or to miss a game for the same. Women in the past had missed games for weddings, health reasons, whatever. Once they knew that wouldn't be a possibility maybe they should have withdrawn, but I thought Kelli and Judy overreacted.

To miss a whole year for one weekend...I can see why they wanted to try. And they were pretty and seemed nice too. I guess one woman's stuck up is another woman's polished pageant girl? I might have lived in Texas too long.

I liked Kinley.  I thought she seemed pretty genuine and just a lot more down to earth.  I never questioned if Kinley was ambassador/DCC material...I just feel like i didn't get to see enough of her dancing.

I actually liked Lacey more than Kenley. She seemed to have a fun, laid back personality. I never really understood the "plastic, mannequin like" comments about her. She seemed a million times more genuine to me than say...Kathryn Dunn. I also thought Lacey was a lot more attractive than Kenley, but it seemed like Kenley was a stronger dancer (based on judge comments, etc., since we only saw a glimpse of them dancing). I think it was stupid of Kelli and company to take them into camp with the pageant conflicts if it was such a problem, since obviously they weren't going to miss those pageants. There were definitely faults on all sides though.

lol I love that line on West Wing! But yes back on topic so I don't have to think of Kelli & Judy's undercarriages! ;)

I am going to go all "namedroppy" on you @twinkietwin94 and @radishcake, but since you are both obviously fans of the West Wing, I know Josh Lyman in real life.  We live in the same town and our kids go to school together.

OMG. I'm a huge Brad Whitford fan! I hope he's nice and his kids are too! I always thought it was good he & his (ex) wife made sure they didn't live in the public eye. ??

OMG I'm so jealous, he's adorable! and I'm going to join the convo now on 123 sorry mods

I wouldn't mind seeing ANY of the returning vets as long as the intro changes.  I was thinking about this myself and it was kind of interesting that there was one intro for the first two seasons, then it changed in the third season and hasn't changed since.  It NEEDS to change to keep up with the times.

I mean, ANYTHING. A cow chewing it's cud, a dog running in its sleep, someone peeing, a ship slowly disappearing from the horizon. ANYTHING.

Picture this:

The music could be anything with a "swell" to it. A crescendo. Something that starts low and hits a high for the squad (reward) pics. Or "When I grow up" by The PCD. We open with past to present black and white images of girls stretching, practicing, from way back to now, kind of a "blood, sweat and tears" concept. Strained faces, girls who are falling at the time of injuries, a few of them in groups, talking, laughing, napping at auditions while waiting, etc. Black and white images shown, quickly, growing in intensity... THEN, the last 8 seconds, we finish with a few hi-def color close ups and squad pics. WHAM! BAM! GLAM! Kelli could be narrating throughout with a quick, sort of, "Each year twelve-ty zillion girls come from around the galaxy to tryout to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. We are often imitated, never equaled and we are WORLD CLASS. THIS is Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team" or something concise. It tells the story of the show, it literally is 'Making the Team'. What they have now is conceptually bankrupt and visually dated. You can call Me Peter Bogdonavich if you'd like.

Currently the previous episode recap in the beginning is a whopping 30 seconds and the intro is 14 seconds. Maybe scale the recap to 24 seconds and the intro to 20 seconds?

@PBSLover are you proud of me?

I am.

If they were to update the current intro they have had since season 4, what would everyone like it to be like and which girls would you like in it?

If the season premiere would start with what @QuiteContraryMoni describes, that would be amazing.  And if they can’t do that than just some behind the scenes stuff/what’s coming up this season like they used to do and not the stupid beginning we always see.  Give the show a bit of art CMT!  That’s what Italian Vogue did for the squad.  There’s so much more to the DCC than how it is marketed.  Now that the whole Cowboys organization has moved, maybe they can focus on making the show terrific again.

Gosh I can't imagine why *whistles innocently*

I would love to be able to see the TC pictures rating board and have the girls line up in their seats in the first TC meeting to see how they scored at finals aka Season 4 for the rest of the show's seasons.

They could do a new season intro by showing the girls who are retiring and not trying again for the upcoming squad.

That's one reason, but most, if not all, those girls have been gone for several years.  At LEAST, have an intro that reflect the current squad.  That way, people won't be looking for people who aren't there and haven't been there for years.  I could say other things, (I actually liked several girls in the intro), but that intro should be part of DCC history, just like the girls it shows.

The intro has always bugged me, even back when it was relevant. The effects are embarrassingly awful (sorry not sorry). I would even be happy with the intro they use for games where they're getting ready in their locker room looking FLAWLESS.

Yes, I love that pregame intro with Danielle, Kinzie, Lacey, Holly A, Jacie, and a couple of others. The girls look stunning.

Honestly our accent isn't that different from any other Southern accent. And by Louisiana do you mean Cajun accents?

@QuiteContraryMoni my husband is from Saint Tammany Parish is LA, and there is definitely a difference between the soft, genteel southern accent of some of dem boys in the N'Awlins area; and the faster paced, seemingly all vowels of a "coon-ass" (aka dem real cajuns) of those who live more out in the parishes and swamps. There are times when we visit and he gets back into the swing of his Cajun roots and I literally have to stop him and ask "do-WHAT?" Because I have no idea what just came out of his mouth.

No, that's not being racially insensitive either. At least I don't think so...

I guess. I don't know. I went on a swamp tour and the guy giving it was hysterical. I think. I only picked up about half of what he said. But it was amazing. Another dialect. Within my own country. But also, people from Louisiana that I spoke with the times I've been to New Orleans have a softer, almost genteel, pretty way about their wording. It's coy and flirtatious and I immediately identified with it.

Please don't tell me this is somehow racially insensitive.

Not insensitive, and he's definitely Cajun. I admire the way they talk :D
