Depending on how charitable you were, how good of a life you lead, etc determined what class of hotel/motel you were put in while defending your life.  Meryl Streeps character got a Biltmore type, Albert Brooks got a medium class hotel, and I suspect JB/Michelle would get a Budget Inn motel off the interstate with the chalk outlines still on the ground of the previous nights 'incident'.

Still better than the stink bus.

Ed Wheat. He also wrote the sex after marriage books that Boob gave to Smuggar (and they conveniently had on tape as the Smuggars drove to their motel on their wedding night). Who can forget Anna dragging their luggage through the motel door threshold while her turd of a husband looked on. He didn't even try to carry het for the cameras. That's a dick move that's stayed with me for almost 8 years.

Must have been in the book. Who needs romance?

Now that Michelle can't get pregnant anymore what is her motivation for being joyfully available for doesn't take long JimBob?  I guess she just thinks - well at least it won't take long.   There isn't any prize at the end of the day anymore.  She's just doing it for the sheer joy of it and I doubt she enjoys it.  Just another chore.  Well at least she can't make her daughters be sister wives to JB because if she could pass off that chore onto them she probably would.

 Gawd I hope NOT.  Given all this wacko cultish behavior that goes on in Fundieland, it's no doubt been done before by some cult families.

I'm sure if Gothard had come up with some excuse that said it was OK - the sister moms would also be sister wives. JB and Michelle followed blindly. Apparently Gothard wanted to keep them for himself however.

Yeah, they probably guilt Tabby Paine into just being happy that she gets to live with the exalted Duggars rent-free, while "teaching" the children on the computer.  I wonder if she's teaching the young 'uns (last we heard, they don't start full-time computer school until 3rd grade) from the Gothard Wisdom Booklets. Because as we all know, every 6 year old needs to be an expert on bankruptcy law.

And yes, Mechelle wishes she was Sarah. I'm sure she meditates on the Abraham/Sarah story every morning, even before reading her Proverb of the Day.

Time for Boob to take a concubine?

This reminds me of the recent blind items that were saying Boob was getting it on with some young woman.  Now that the Willis family father has been charged with child rape, I wonder if he is the actual subject of that blind item. I realize the purported rape was many years ago, but maybe he's taken a lover more recently?  I know that's a discussion for the Willis Family forum, but I just wanted to mention how Boob was named in that blind item.

You just may have it!  What IS IT with TLC families?  Do they purpose to look for the most fucked up families?  Not all fundy families can be this screwed up but maybe they aren't famewhores?  I am beginning to think TLC stands for something other than the learning channel if you get my drift.  And my drift is creepy as hell.

:clears throat:

Those of us who have been through that Season of Life have to wonder if she's enjoying it at all, and that's not because KJB may have just a touch of ED. (I'm sure he's all about justifying that $10 a pill, too. I'll bet Mr. Happy doesn't work quite so well anymore.) One has to believe that J-Chelle would not know about any of the heathen solutions those enduring menopause may need if one would like to get frisky with one's other half and be somewhat comfortable while doing so.

KJB sure as hell would not be interested in investigating any of those solutions, either. It's all about him and his pleasure.

YES. Normal and happy does not translate into ratings.

Normal and happy also does not agree to expose their family to a nationwide TV audience.*

*With the exception of the Arnold-Kleins, which I think are attempting to educate the viewers about dwarfism.

The Sarah post is over my head. Is it a biblical reference?

It is, yes. Sarah was a Biblical figure who was barren, so to make up for it, she loaned her maid Hagar to her husband so he could have a son. As a reward for her patience, loyalty or whatever, Sarah became pregnant in her mid 80s and birthed Isaac. The story is kind of a funny correlation to the Duggar household dynamics and Boob's rumored dalliances with a much younger woman.

Isn't Josie 7? Won't Michelle soon have time to start teaching the older kids, too...since they'll all be out of third grade? Now that she's getting down to an older, more manageable amount of kids at home, can't she step up and mother? I know...I know, they're blessed with Tabby. (and her parents let their spinster virgin daughter into THAT house (of people who willfully learned nothing sex abuse).

How painfully awkward for JD if JB and Michelle are pushing him to fall for Tabitha.  Living in the same house, he must make up all sorts of excuses not to be present when Tabitha is around.  After all JD has no time for romance.

Well, those parents have also long been part of the Gothardite big wheel contingent, who all knew about sex abuse for years and years and spent the whole time attacking the girls and women who tried to complain about it.      So there's that. ...

No, no, and no...

She hadn't bothered to mother anyone for well over a decade!

Xanaxia is all about her elliptical workouts, Starbucks, and being "joyfully available" to fix Boob lunch and do other things that "don't take long".

One poster elsewhere referred to TLC as The Lecherous Channel. That is pretty well spot on.

Hmmm.....she might have gone private. It's the old Famy Friday IG account.

For those who can't see it, it's a pic of Jilly and Mechelle in godawful hats. Jill's looks like a cake with some roses hanging off of it, Mechelle's some wide-brimmed black lace mess. Mechelle is also sporting a pair of strangely-rimmed - and non-rimmed - glasses that were popular in no era ever. Jill is wearing a  high-necked, long sleeved tee shirt under a lower-necked short-sleeved one. Hot mess express times a thousand.

Now THAT, I might have liked to see. No doubt the hat shop owner was doing all she could not to lose her shit, while those dreadful Arkansas hillbillies tried on her hats.  About the glasses, was that more of a steampunk look? Steampunk is VERY cool! (As long as it's not done by any Duggars).

Is the photo from their trip to England? I remember them going to a hatshop in one episode, trying on some truly peculiar headgear that not even the royals could've pulled off.

Oh, I bet that's it! Although these went WAAAAY beyond fascinators.

I still can't unsee that fascinator Princess Beatrice wore to Wills' and Kate's wedding. It looked like something a dr. Seuss character would wear on their heads. By the end of the day several pages and memes were born, so she saw opportunity to auction the thing off for charity.

i can only imagine trying to place a fascinator on that dead possum Michelle has on her head. Would Duggar logic see a fascinator as enhancing the countenance?

Michelle should consider headcovering...many fundamentalists do it and it would cover up that dated diaster on her head.

For all their literal Bible interpretations, I'm surprised about the hair. Once it ceases to be your crowning glory, it would seem to make sense that you would be allowed to trim dead ends...

I read somewhere that the Amish were even forbidden to trim their hair, so by extension, there are likely many other groups/denominations that prohibit hair cutting/trimming.

Their "modesty" stipulations are based on the sexual fetishes of Bill Gothard, not the Bible. Bill likes long hair and has a foot fetish. Therefore, flip flops are totally fine and hair is a woman's crowning glory, even though it very specifically states in the Bible that an uncovered head is displeasing to God. I have serious doubts about how often they peruse the actual Bible, because what the Duggars think is displeasing to God vs. what the Bible specifically states is displeasing to God are often wildly divergent.

Holy crap, Jill used THE EXACT picture I was talking about to pay tribute to Mechelle's 50th b-day today. LMAO!

However, it's a pity that Jill cropped the top of the picture, so you can't see the flowers springing out of what basically looks like a cake on her head.

Wow, those cards are so sad. Hannie's was even traced over. I know cursive isn't really being taught in public schools any longer, but as the Duggars never fail to remind us, they "do things a little different" (sic). Jenni should have also written her letter in cursive; isn't she 9 now? That's plenty old enough to have learned. But Hannie? For an 11 year old (I think her birthday is next month?), that's really, really pathetic.

Proverbs 31 Woman?  Really...does any of this sound like Michelle?

10 [a]A wife of noble character who can find?
    She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
    and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
    all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
    and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
    bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
    she provides food for her family
    and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
    out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
    her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
    and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
    and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
    and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
    for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
    she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
    where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
    and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
    she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
    and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
    and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
    her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
    but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
    and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Ya - no, Michelle is not the first person I thought of reading this. Actually, I thought of no person at all.

This stuff is in the Bible?
