Rawstory is reporting that Carol Burnett is joining the cast in some of the final episodes. I am definitely intrigued.

Me too. I'm a big Burnett fan. And the show's FB page posted about it yesterday. Apparently the interview Burnett gave to VF (with a high school kid) was done over a year ago. So kudos to the kid for not giving away spoilers, but I'm wondering if the showrunners were ok with the timing of the article's release.

It's almost certainly a minor role. The landlady or boss or grandmother of a character. It will just be cool to see her. They probably would rather have the news come out now a few weeks before the show comes back to generate publicity than months ago.

Carol is going to play Wendy's daughter.

I don't know about that.  I heard a story that they were planning to bring on Betsy Brandt for one scene but decided against it because they thought her presence would be more distraction than an addition to the show.  I think if they are bringing a mega-star like Carol Burnett (a 6-time Emmy winner), it's for a serious role.  I think she will play Howard's mother and she will bring the pain to J&K.

Howard's mother for an episode or two would be be a guest star not a major character.

That would be interesting. Carol Burnett is 89 so her character would be 90ish. I can see her bringing the pain to Jimmy and Jimmy taking the final step from Jimmy to Saul by sending her to Belize in the same way that Nacho put Hector Salamanca in the wheel chair. Kim decides that is a step to far and leaves him. Her leaving and his guilt makes him a bitter and angry man with the face of a clown.

Yes, that makes sense.  There are a lot of comments online about how the blood on the candle will lead to J&K's downfall, but I don't see how that happens but Saul maintains the ability to practice law.

Jeebus.  They are going to send Carol Burnett to Belize, and I think it will be Kim's idea.

Carol is the fan of a show where life is cheap. I can see her loving to play a pivotal part where her character being killed has a major impact on the plot.

Maybe she will reprise her classic cleaning lady role and witness something important.

I once saw Carol on a talk show telling a true story about a man attempting to mug her on the street.  She said she turned around and just full out screamed in his face and he turned white and ran away over the sheer craziness.  I'd love to see her do that to Lalo and throw him off his evil stride.

Yep, we did. I pulled the S04.E01 opener, Smoke, off of YouTube for comparison. This is the part with the cabby:

The same cabby confronts Gene at the mall in S05.E01: Magic Man and pesters him until Gene says the "Better Call Saul" catchphrase. The guy in the new promo is not the same actor, who I'm reading is apparently now on HBO and unavailable, but it sounds like it's supposed to be the same character.

And another:

Apparently, the actor playing Jeff The Cabbie has been re-cast, although the name of the replacement has not been made.

I got a Bewitched vibe from this, as if the new actor is not going to bring the same level of intensity.

And who knows, maybe this is who Carol Burnett will be playing.

THANK YOU to SOMEBODY.

Someone on one of the threads mentioned a new BCS podcast they were going to listen to. I did a quick search and found Spotify has these for the whole darned 6 seasons. In most cases the podcasts are longer than the shows they are discussing.

But Wow! there is a lot of material.

I’m only on S1Ep2 but very enjoyable.

Great to listen to as I repaint my Suzuki Esteem.

The Inside the Gilliverse Youtube shows are really excellent too.  (Although I really wish the host Eric would give up the running gag of asking his guests "What's the smell inside the Gilliverse?", something that never yields any interesting or even humorous responses.)

I just finished the latest Insider Podcast. Very good, although I get a little impatient with the belabored introductions and such.

They mentioned the crew t-shirts for this ep that the writer (I believe) had made for everyone. I thought it might be the image we saw of the plate with the Cinnabon and Marco's ring, but I think they mentioned a knife in the picture, so I'm not sure. Also, there's something on front and back. I wonder if anyone here can find a pic. I did an unsuccessful quick google.

I get so impatient with the long winded questions too. I have started listening at 1.5 or even 2x speed just to get to the friggin point/answers. Chris is an editor, he should do a better job of editing the podcast!

Prepare yourselves: The next episode of Better Call Saul is titled "Breaking Bad"

Episode 6:11 - air date 8/1/22

This is interesting:

Better Call Saul is a show that loves a little clever misdirection, and “Breaking Bad” might turn out to be another episode about the high-stakes drama of Gene The Cinnabon Man. (Press images for the episode suggest it’ll at least partially take place in monochrOmaha.

So, if it's in the Gene timeline, I'm going to guess (like I did in the Spec WO Spoilers thread) that perhaps Walt seeks out Saul (Gene) in NE while en route to NM from NH.
