Teen Mom 2: Small Talk

I never had much of an opinion about Chihuahuas before I got Baby.  As we were walking through the shelter, we noticed that she barked like crazy at everyone who walked by but when me and my daughter walked by she ran up to the cage door wagging her tail. We backed away from the cage and watched her bark at the next people then when we walked up again, the tail started wagging again. She picked us out. We just went to the shelter to look for a small dog. We didn't care what breed we just wanted a little one.  We had my male Border Collie at the time, his head was about the size of her entire body but she was the boss of all of the animals, they didn't mess with her because she'd go after them like she was a Pit Bull. I was once kicked out of a pet store because my little 7 pound Chihuahua started a fight with 2 Collies*.   She would always bathe my cats, and they LOOOOOVED it.

I have a bad smell in my house and I can't figure out where it's coming from. I took my garbage to the can down the hill  yesterday so it's not that. It's driving me crazy. I smell it through the whole house so I can't pinpoint where it is. It's not a death smell so a critter hasn't died under my house or anything like that. We had a dead deer on my property a few years ago and it took animal control way too long to come and get it, believe me, that is NOT a smell one forgets.

Are you supposed to capitalize dog breeds?

Because to and too are different.

Update from the @MYPEOPLEARENORDIC  go fund me page:

My surgery went well. I came home last night but have been sleeping a lot. Doctor said there were no surprises - she got it all & it hadn’t spread. I’m in some pain & exhausted but I’m so LUCKY & GRATEFUL. Thank you everyone. Love y’all!

??? Thank you for posting update.

I’m not sure about breed names. I could probably google a style guide, but autocorrect doesn’t seem to default to capitalizations.

I wonder if the smell is something in your pipes? Since we’ve moved to the PNW I’ve noticed an unpleasant smell that I associate with a sewer smell. And it’s random. Sometimes I smell it outside my office building or in our neighborhood (10 miles apart).

Here it must be dampness and mildew of some sort. Could that be it? Something in your pipes that’s been collecting and a relative warm spell is making it into gas?

Im so glad that @MyPeopleAreNordic is continuing to improve. ♥️

"Sewer smell" is exactly how I described it too.   I've been smelling it off and on for a few days. I have no clue what it could be.

Do you have a septic tank? Noticing "that smell" can be an indicator that it's time to have it pumped.

Oh...ok this is weird. I bought some selsun blue and used it on my kid’s dry skin head and after a few days I tore the bathroom apart trying to get rid of this unpleasant pee/sewer smell. Like, it would waft down the stairs. I thought it was from them missing the damn toilet

Soaked the toilet seat in dawn and vinegar. Unscrewed it and scrubbed the holes.

Washed the shower curtain and liner in bleach

It was the fucking selsun blue!

I had to spray each individual sucker on the tub mat to get that smell out. It was RIDICULOUS.

So, have you been using any new bath/cleaning products lately?

I’m making the peanut butter crack brownies again!!!

Baby update. She was due on the 22nd but peanut must be awfully cozy in there because nothing's happening. She went in today for a non stress test and an ultrasound to check amniotic fluid. Baby is doing great but, the fluid is lower than the doc wanted to see. So, they kept her and gave her an oral medication to make her cervix start the dilation process. Doc said baby will probably arrive tomorrow, maybe even Thursday depending on how well induction works. She's hoping to get some sleep tonight, so I'll go in the morning. After I stop at their house to pick up their doggy and drop her off at doggy daycare for the next couple days. Woohoo!!!! Almost a grandma ????

After a really long day, it's a boy!!! Ezra Mark arrived via c-section at 8:36 pm. 6 pounds 6 ounces, 19 1/2 inches long. After over 3 hours of pushing, he wouldn't budge. The doc conferred with the specialist on call and it was decided that the safest way would be a section. Everyone is exhausted but doing very well. He latched on like a champ and when I left, he was settling in to go to sleep. What a day!!??

@lovesnark  What a beautiful boy!  Congrats to you and your daughter and all your families!!

And now off listen to "Beautiful Boy" by John Lennon (Ben Harper version) and "My Darling" by Wilco and get emotional about my nieces/nephews growing up.

legit cannot listen to that song without dissolving into puddles.  It'd be cool to dance with boy-child to that at his wedding*

but I know for a fact that I wouldn't be able to control myself.

*BOY-CHILD IS NOT EVEN SLIGHTLY ENGAGED

My son and I have the same twisted sense of humor so when he was married, we danced to Daddy's Little Girl.

My honey and I agree that if we ever have a wedding our dance song will be I Hate Everything About You by Ugly Kid Joe.

Yeah, we're all pretty twisted.

@teapot I think that would be sweet if you could hold it together! Laughing that he isn't remotely close to getting engaged.  I was tearing up there for a while so I had to go back on Jenelle's page to get angry.

Not sure if you saw this in the Teen Mom forum. Three weeks ago, she posted this on her go fund me page:

Feeling kind of bummed today. Lonely, sad- ignored. I think I’ve been stressed out by all these home repair problems and incompetent people. All my friends without kids are busy tonight and I’m not interested in dealing with small children right now. So I’m sitting in my room binge watching tv. I just didn’t feel like leaving the house.

@Scarlett45, I feel you. It’s been a long ass week.

Give yourself permission to hermit it up for a while. Look at Pinterest. Google random shit. Cakewrecks. Bridal party underwear photo fails.

Or fancy kitchen gadgets from Italy! I love to do that.

OR...international real estate property. Spain is super cheap. Some parts of Italy. Probably parts of Poland or Scotland too.

Now I know what I’m gonna do when I’m done laughing at my family member’s wedding page for their third wedding since 2007. I can’t wait to see the pictures!

Hey friends, I need all the good vibes you can muster. Our daughter is in ICU after a massive post partum hemmorhage yesterday. One of the major vessels to her uterus was leaking. She lost her entire volume of blood and had an embolization procedure last night to stop the bleeding. She's okay right now but they're not positive this is a permanent fix. If it starts up again, she'll go straight to surgery for a hysterectomy. Her husband is with her and I'm here at their house with baby. He was nice to his grandma last night and slept for 3 hours straight so I could get some sleep, too. My husband is coming down today to help with the little guy and my nephew lives real close by, so he's too going to help out, too.
