I love seeing Sonny and Will back but I need to get used to the new actor playing Sonny--I don't think I like his moustache.

Chloe's crying because she doesn't want to have to choose between her mom and dad was embarrassingly teen-agery--I mean, she's a woman in her forties, not sixteen, grow up.

And I actually applaud the show for bringing up Marlena's getting patient backlash from all of the bad advice she gave when she was possessed.  Real life consequences, who knew!

Although I have my doubts that it's real, I wouldn't totally be against a redemption storyline for Leo.  I mean, I guess Bonnie's reformed.

Speaking of Bonnie, though I wasn't missing her, or Justin for that matter, it was nice seeing families on screen today.  Wonder if we'll get to see Ari?   It would actually be good for the Gabi character, I think, to see her with her daughter, and not just always in the tiresome Dimera/Titan CEO battle storylines.

I kept thinking it reminded me of a porn star moustache. 😁 Also, where was Sonny's signature wardrobe--a suit for every occasion.

Agree too that it was nice to see some reality infused in the fall-out of a psychiatrist possess by the devil.  On the bright side for Marlena, Saranee is in bad need of a shrink full-time and she probably doesn't know anything about either of Marlena's dances with the devil.  Saranee might be more districted by the fact that Roman no longer has dark curly hair and looks shockingly like Chris Kosticheck.

After the prison break and they were back in jail, Clyde stabbed Orpheus because Orpheus took over the Ciara hostage situation from Vincent, and then Orpheus's son killed Rhodes and took over his job.  Orpheus is, no doubt, not feeling too warm and fuzzy about Clyde after being shanked.

😕😕😕😕

...Orpheus was part of the Ciara kidnapping storyline...??

I...am so confused. This was after her (stupid as f***) wedding, right? She was "killed" by Vincent and then put in a cage/room....and then I was like "great - die!" and FFed her scenes...but then Orpheus and Clyde got involved somehow?

...did Clyde stab Orpheus out of loyalty to his daughter-in-law then?

(So lost)

I also enjoyed Marlena getting some real world backlash with her patients dropping her because of her possession. Yeah, she could lose her license. And she should also be retiring by now or just working part-time.

Chloe is not some young woman in her early 20s. She is probably around 40ish and she should be a bit more adult about her parents. I do feel for Nancy. She probably did feel used by her husband. I liked the old flashback to when they were young.

Bonnie was semi dressed in her own home. Especially if Victor and Maggie were out for the evening. Can't imagine that Sonny hasn't seen his mom in a robe and nightgown.

I did like her taking an interest in Nancy, especially when she was crying.

Operation Leo Stark is beginning - at least to find out his true motives?

Yes, it was during the time everyone thought Ciara was dead, and Vincent & Rhodes were keeping her in the glass cage room.  Orpheus took over the hostage situation from Vincent so he could get ransom money out of Victor.  When Clyde found out what Orpheus was up to, he stabbed him.  Apparently even Clyde ships Ciara and Ollie.

Let's see.....we had Bonnie, Leo, Nancy, Nancy's wig - which personally I consider its own character - and Craig, minus his brain, all in one episode.  Finally, a day in Salem where Brady and Chloe seemed like the smartest, most reasonable people within screeching distance.

If I were Craig, I'd not only leave Nancy, I'd leave the state she was in as well.  If I were him, I'd also be deathly afraid that wig would follow me all on its own.

Bonnie wants to "make love" in front of a roaring fire?  How about IN a roaring fire?  As for Justin, he and Craig should commiserate on what it's like to live without a working brain.

John, Leo isn't a boy.  He's a man.  A man within blinking distance of his very own AARP card.  He's a loathsome little turd with a rap sheet scarier than Nancy's wig and he's not done yet.  Leo has changed just as much as Bonnie has, which means all tell and no show.

So Bonnie is going to befriend Nancy.  Yeah, that's gonna end well.  It'll be as if the circus is in town, every day.  Maybe Pennywise can do their hair.  I bet he's on a first name basis with that wig.

Will is back and brought Porn Stache with him!  Actually, I thought NuSonny did an excellent job today.  He seems to fit the role to a tee.  A nice change from his time as Fen on Y&R, where he really stunk.

Marlena is surprised people might not want to see a psychiatrist who has been possessed by the Devil?  That's like Ben not understanding why he can't get a job selling neckties.

Whoever said "Beetlejuice" three times and summoned Bonnie back to Salem, I'm kinda pissed at you right now.

nuSonny has a charming smile despite that 70s porn star moustache.  I thought Freddie Smith was more believable as a guy who has his own company but this new guy seems to have more charisma.  For awhile there it seemed like Freddie S and Billy Flynn were competing for the most lifeless performance, so I don't mind not seeing FS again.

For as much as I dislike Leo and what GR does with the character, I'm somewhat curious to see what he'll do if Nancy and Chloe make an enemy of him.

I'll be more surprised if there isn't a scene in which Sarah mistakes Roman for Chris.  Ron loves those wink-wink-nudge-nudge moments enough to make me wonder if this entire storyline was written for that scene alone.  Nothing else about it has been that interesting, so far.

Do you mean the original 1970's version, or is there a new one.  I loved Steve Austin, as well as Jamie Sommers and her spinoff The Bionic Woman.

Yes, the 70s version is on late night on one of the retro channels.  The episodes I've seen here and there have involved space aliens.  One multi-part episode featured Tony Geary (Luke Spencer from General Hospital) as an island guy who turned into a crazy, power hungry Neanderthal look-alike.  It was so weird and I don't understand what happened (the writers had to have been high!).  Tony must still be so embarrassed.

Except what they're doing seems so sleazy.

They've expressed their concerns to Craig.  Last we saw, Craig was not senile or mentally impaired in any way so his daughter should have enough faith in him to do what he wants with the information.  John seems to be dropping the hint that this is Leo's redemption arc, but even if it isn't and he's still running some scam, Craig is an adult who should be allowed to make his own mistakes.  If I cared about someone, and my relative tried to play them for a fool by pretending they wanted to start fresh only to find out it was all a ruse to stage some half-assed "intervention" I would be beyond pissed.  Where does Chloe come off trying to run Craig's life - because she's done such a stellar job managing her own relationships?  And Brady is the LAST person to even think about criticizing someone's choice in a partner.  We had to endure YEARS of him telling everyone how Kristen had changed and was such a great person, while cramming her down everybody's throat.  He should know better than anybody that you can only warn someone about potential dangers, you can't force them to view another person the way you do.

Sure, Brady is a hypocrite, and Chloe seems controlling. But considering how all went to hell for Craig and Nancy, I can excuse Chloe's lack of clear thinking. Craig is her father, Nancy is her mother, and Leo is a piece of shit.

So I can't cry too much if Brady/Chloe choose to mess with him. Especially since Leo (maybe in Chloe's mind) has taken her mother's place as Craig himself treated his wife like disposable trash.

If Chloe/Brady make Leo's life hell? Great.

I thought this episode was much better than the last three.

The brief flashback of Nancy/Craig far exceeded the acting and the budget of current Days.

I love NB/Chloe, but the Nancy/Chloe scenes in the beginning were painful to get through.

I never liked FS's Sonny, so I'm okay with the recast. I think he brings more life to the role, and I already like his interactions with Justin more. He and Will also have better chemistry as I thought FS Sonny and Will felt very tense around each other.

I forgot how much I used to love Marlena/Will scenes. It was also nice to see John be so happy to see Will. At certain points in time, John/Will almost seemed like strangers, so I liked John's enthusiasm. I thought it was odd John was the only one who seemed excited to see Sonny. Everyone hugged Will. Only John hugged Sonny. Marlena stiffened up once Sonny arrived. Maybe it's the actors getting used to each other.

I was surprised by how much I missed Justin and his dimples.

Was this really the first time Nancy/Bonnie met? Their time on the show overlapped, and I remember Bonnie at Broe's wedding. Granted that was decades ago, but it still seemed like an odd meeting.

You could see Nancy's real hair poking out from under her wig.

I do like Broe scheming together.

I didn't realize Marlena/Justin/John were friends. Speaking of, has Marlena had any scenes with Tony? Has she seen Jennifer regarding Laura's death?

I laughed out loud at the thought of Dr. Lucifer giving people horrific advice. I would actually love for that to be a DOOL spinoff series on Peacock.

This. I think it makes sense that Chloe would want to keep her father away from Leo. Sure, she could just talk to him, but it's a soap opera lol. Of course it's gonna be more dramatic than that.

I really enjoyed Sonny and Will trying to explain their past interactions with Leo--"And we wrapped him up in a rug to dispose of the body"  fabulous :)  Craig on the other hand is a moron and there is a part of me that hopes Leo's scamming him.  Leo and Craig seem to think that because Craig's been unhappy living his hetero life style, that now gives him carte blanche to hurt as many people as he can to make himself feel better.

I did like Leo's calling Brady "Cocaine Cowboy" though--Brady and his vast array of horrible life decisions can take multiple seats.

I like nuSonny way better than old Sonny.  Freddie Smith seemed like a nice guy and all, but I never cared about his Sonny one way or the other.

Ha ha!  Very true, especially toward the end.  I loved Luke and Laura back in the day, though.

ETA:  Craig is kind of an idiot.  He's not wrong about Sonny and Will trying to dispose of Leo's body, but to completely disregard their experiences with the guy is so dumb.  Terrible people never change, in my experience.

I really enjoyed the last 2 episodes.  Didn't realize how much I was missing Will and Sonny, and nu-Sonny seems like he's quickly fallen into the role. Maybe doing the Peacock shows helped him get a feel for the character.  Hopefully they'll be in Salem for a while.

Didn't even hate the Bonnie/Nancy makeover scenes.  Bye bye wig.  You won't be missed.

I keep watching for some smirk or squint or anything to let the audience know Leo is faking his "better person" role, but nothing yet. Maybe they don't want us to know, or they haven't even decided yet.

Same with TR.  Felt like something was going to happen today, but nothing.

Will and Sonny got on a plane leaving Arizona for Salem because of Craig who they don't know?  Yet Will didn't come when his mother was jailed, Christmas, excorism, Sami kidnapped, sister gave birth, Ciara died, and 100 other reasons related to his family? Sonny didn't come for his father, Victor, again Ciara.

Will and Sonny seem to care more about Leo than family.

Ron's gay pop references are so old that I understand them.  Nobody under 50 really would, though.  He called Will and Sonny "Wayland and Madame" and Wayland Flowers who did that ventriloquist act died in 1988.   That makes Leo one pretty long in the tooth "boy".

Bonnie's makeover of Nancy?? Yikes!  The only guy in Salem who I can think of that would be attracted to Bonnie's version of the new Nancy is already married - to Bonnie.  She might want to see if Statesville has a dating website - and who would know better about that than Bonnie?

Today's episode played more like one of those fantasy episodes everyone wakes up from.

But wasn't that just another wig?  I swear I saw a recent pic of Patrika Darbo and it looked like she has good hair.  That pink hair Bonnie gave her made Nancy look like she's on her way to a COSPlay Convention to find a new boyfriend.

Can we keep nuSonny around and send Chandler Massey back to wherever Sonny and Will are supposed to be living now.  I like Zach Tinker.  Didn't realize he had been on Y&R.

I can see why Craig won't listen to anyone about Leo.  They're probably still in their "honeymoon phase", and Craig is likely riding high on what he perceives to be a new lease on life.  But I really don't give a damn if Leo marries him and screws him out of all of his money.  Nothing about this story has been structured in a way that makes me care one little bit about Craig.

Just exactly who are Leo and Craig hurting?  I get that Craig hurt Nancy, but he was going to do that no matter who he was involved with.  She's hurt because he finally decided to accept that he's gay, not because he's seeing Leo specifically.  What's really bothering me about this whole thing is the way everybody is treating Craig like he's some idiot.  Sonny told him that they didn't come because they think he's naive but Chloe clearly does.  If there's anything guaranteed to drive Craig closer to Leo it's treating him like he's just too stupid to run his own life.  If Craig gets hurt they can all gather around and yell "Told you so."

And Lani, if your wonderful cop instincts had kicked in, you would have simply not shown up.  If you really want to get to know him, take someone else, like Eli along so an objective person can tell you if you are really observing the man or simply looking at him with rose colored glasses.

  • Love 7

Craig is not going to listen to anyone about Leo Stark. As a primo schemer back in the day, he shouldn't be too rusty when dealing with a con man who is conning him. Chloe is an adult woman. Her dad can do whatever he likes. The person who will ultimately get hurt is him. His being gay and finding a new lease on life is not Nancy's fault. At some point, she will be happy to be rid of him. Yeah, continue to raise Joy, be at her wedding, etc.

I didn't mind the makeover. Red hair is very hard to do and it will take time to get back to the fiery red. That is a salon job.

Lani, you don't meet your bio dad alone. You meet with him with someone who is objective and someone who will tell you when your dad isn't adding up. Sure he's a nice man now - he wants something. Your cop instincts need to kick in.  Why does Eli need the ISA? Shouldn't his FBI contacts be helping him?

Leo was right about Brady and his addiction issues. Will and Sonny, who were most affected by Leo's schemes, can say what they want, make their case, but Craig can listen to what he wants. Will, maybe visit your grandma, visit Gabi with Ari (if you brought her with you), and spend time with family.

I'd agree if it was rando guy who had no history in Salem, but Leo has done some pretty horrendous stuff.  I think Chloe is more interested in protecting her father from a guy whose only known in Salem as a relentless financial and emotional predator.  I'd be a lot more surprised if everyone shrugged their shoulders and wished Craig well being involved with Leo.

It's more than a little out there for Sonny and Will to drop everything and come to Salem to protect a guy they don't know because he's the father of a woman they barely know, I agree.  But Chloe can't unknow what she knows about what Leo's done and she thinks, rightfully so, that she'd be remiss if she didn't look out for her dad.

In 2022, is it really that odd that people eat mayo with their fries? I go to restaurants where they serve aoli with fries all the time, and aoli is just a fancy mayo a lot of the times. (Depending on the restaurant, sometimes it's just mayo with garlic flavoring). I also thought it was odd that that was TR/Lani's big bonding moment. I know that happens a lot in television with estranged parents/kids. "You like Friends? I like Friends. Oh my gosh, it must be in the blood." And it's like no, literally tens of millions of people watch Friends. It has nothing to do with genes. Same thing with mayo and fries.

I did like the Bonnie/Nancy/TR scene. The scene itself was forgettable, but it reminded me when Soap towns felt like communities where strangers and friends would run into each other at gathering spots. I know this is a strange memory, but one of my favorite moments on Days was such an interaction. Carrie and Austin were talking in a corner and Jen was in a different section of the restaurant eating fries. John came in and playfully patted Jennifer on her back, spoke to Carrie/Austin, and then went to Abe his scene partner for the episode. Little things like that really make you feel like people are a community and not just actors doing a job.

Why didn't Will introduce himself as Will Horton/Sami's son? That really seemed to stick out to me. I mean Craig would probably trust Marlena's grandson more than Victor's great nephew. Considering the Chloe/Victor history, I'm not certain why they would think invoking Victor's name would sway Craig. Will was also Chloe's stepson at one point. Will just seemed like he should have taken a more active role in that discussion.

I find the new Sonny to be so much cuter than the old Sonny. I also think Sonny/Will look more attractive as a couple.

The name Vivian Alamain should have perked up Craig's ears. Beside from their time somewhat overlapping in his original run. Vivian almost got Chloe killed, her minion beat Chloe into a coma, and her son forced Chloe into prostitution. You'll think he'll at least want a background check on Leo after discovering that connection.

Nancy looked worse after her makeover.

In general, I think Leo looks roughly the same age as Craig, so it's always odd when people talk about Craig leaving Nancy for someone younger. Leo did at least look much younger in yesterday's episode.

They aren't close with her, but I would disagree with "barely" knowing her. Will was Chloe's stepson, and the pre Chandler Massey Will shared more scenes with Chloe. That Will disliked Chloe. The show also gave Chloe/Will a scene after his back from the dead where she specifically talks about how happy she is that he's back.

Chloe was the first person Sonny met in Salem - outside of Victor, Adrienne, Justin, of course. The show was obviously going for a Sonny/Chloe pairing at that point, before they obviously changed directions with the Sonny character.

Will reunited Luloe in his Christmas special story and had them move to Antarctica.

While this may be a stretch, I'm certain Ari/Parker are close since Maggie/Victor were caretakers for both. Will/Sonny were living in the Kiriakis Mansion at the time.

Brady asking them, any connection they may have with Parker/Chloe, and hurting Leo seemed as good enough reason for them to return home to their families.

See, Craig's hurting Nancy and the rest of their family is a problem for me.  Once he realized that he was gay and wanted to explore a relationship with Leo was the time Craig should have talked to Nancy and asked for a divorce--there was no reason for him to start an affair.   I hope the Craig/Leo "romance" ends in agony.

Now onto today's episode, I wish the actress playing TR's ex-girlfriend was playing Paulina--we would actually get a nuanced performance.

Allie is obnoxious and a true Horton--she'll never forgive Johnny for telling Tripp about her sleeping with Chanel.  Not that she'll never forgive herself for lying and hurting Tripp--this is apparently all Johnny's fault.

I get that Marlena might be a little hesitant to invite unannounced guests in after Susan puked on her floor that time, but for a second there I thought she wasn't going to let Ben in even after he said he came bearing bad news, the point at which most people would motion you in so that, at the very least, the neighbors don't hear a private conversation.

lol @ Beth saying T.R. was the devil incarnate.  Um, no Beth, T.R. is a shady vile bastard for sure, but stick around Salem long enough and you will meet the actual devil.

After all this is over, Belle should probably burn that troublesome coat.

But it's come in handy now that she needs something red in her wardrobe.

So is she going to do a "memory erase" on Marlena?  Is Johnny now free, and will beg for Chanel's forgiveness.  Or is the devil just temporarily hanging out in Belle, and will be back in Johnny again?

Well that escalated quickly from TR insisting he had changed to him having a drug connection in Salem.

Too bad they didn't get the Rory actor. Or is Rory in prison? Can't remember what happened last with him.

Really enjoyed Johnny and Will bickering.  How Horton. How Dimera of you.
Allie you learned from your mom well.  Of course it’s not your fault you only cheated and lied to your boyfriend.

JoDevil's comeback about Will's preaching being "so very Horton" was a great line. Sometimes the show provides.

CM/Will and CB/Johnny really were great today.  Hopefully they'll be given more scenes together.  I haven't seen CM spark so much with another screen partner since James Scott left the show.

CM was really good.   I actually stopped what I was doing on my laptop and watched the scene (for a change).
