halgia October 26, 2014 Share October 26, 2014 We're trying something new this week: this is the "no book talk" thread. Don't mention the comics at all in here, even in spoiler tags. There's another thread for comic-related stuff about this episode and in general. Since this is a new thing we're trying, if you have opinions about the split one way or another feel free to talk about them here. 6 Link to comment

Rosiejuliemom October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 Nice little Shaun of the Dead thing going on with Gareth and the window. A bear can have another cub? Well, we can't have another Bob, now can we? Oh, wait...was that cub analogy supposed to mean Carl and Judith?! Ewwwww. TAINTED MEAT!! Oh, that was everything I wanted it to be and more. What, exactly, is the proper temp to cook human to in order to kill the virus? While I will miss Bob, Father Gabriel intrigues me and I would like him to stick around for a minute. Glenn remembered Jim! I get irrationally giddy when this show mentions people who have died. Although, was it really two days in between Jim's bite and when the group left him by the tree? Did Rick shoot Gareth's finger off? Red-handled machete! Rick Grimes is a man of his word. The only thing missing from the Michonne/Katana reunion was a glow of heavenly light and some rocking guitar music. Both Maggie and Glenn got some interesting Hershel-esque moments. Maggie with the bible and Glenn as the peacekeeper. Judith is such a cute little thing. Sorry I was an asshole note- Ha! So now we stand at three main groups and Beth. Abraham, Rosita, Eugene, Tara, Glenn, and Maggie. Rick, Carl, Judith, Michonne, Sasha, Tyreese, Father Gabriel, and Daryl. Maybe Carol? Come on out who? 13 Link to comment
Gin and Tonic October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 The actors playing Bob and Gareth did a great job in the opening scene, but I confess I was still giggling throughout. It's just so comic booky. Seth Gilliam is great. And pretty. He can stay. 5 Link to comment

blaksheba October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 What was Maggie thinking? She left and has no idea where her mind-numbingly boring sister is... I am going to miss seeing Lawrence Gilliard; I love him as an actor. So glad that he was in this show. He gave a great performance as Bob, even though sometimes the writing was a bit uneven. "Tainted Meat!" Loved it. I love that the Termites are gone and this battle wasn't dragged out too long. I am sure that the walkers in the school will factor in son. Gareth's mentioning of the glass breaking soon surely could not have been in vain. 13 Link to comment

natyxg October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 Did Rick shoot Gareth's finger off? Yep. I'm glad that now we're really done with the Hunters/Terminus. I just don't want this show to drag things along ever again. I thought their deaths were too brutal, I wish they had just put a bullet in their heads or some well thought out stab in the heart or something. But I get what they were going for. Poor Bob! I am really annoyed that they split up AGAIN. Specially considering that with the hunters dead Abraham and others could've waited a while to see if Dary and Carol came back. You don't have cell phones, people! If you split up there is a big possibility that you won't see each other again. But then again, they always do so maybe they just belieeeveeee. 7 Link to comment
bmoore4026 October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 (edited) "TAINTED MEAT!" You rocked, Bob! Surprised The Hunters storyline wrapped up so quickly. I was expecting it to be a season long thing. Bob's death and how it was acted was beautifully done and just made me angry at the Emmy committee more for overlooking some great actors. Damn cable. Was it wrong that I smiled a little when Rick and them slaughtered The Hunters? Felt so sad for the reverend. He so wants to hold on to a light of hope in a world of despair. Is there any significance to the Bible chapters and verses on the church wall? Abraham is a fool and Eugene is a wormy creep. Can't wait for the latter to get his comeuppance. So, are Glenn and Maggie and all them off the show permanently? I mean, yes, the group was very large and had to be reduced a bit, but since they didn't die, I was just wondering. ghoulina October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 So many great moments in this episode. Bob's maniacal laughter as he revealed to the Termites he had been bit. "Tainted meat!" Ahhhh, I was dying. Too bad it didn't really matter. I would have liked to see them suffer a bit, but it wasn't worth the risk.... ...Which brings me to another great moment - Rick and the red-handled machete! BAMF. Rick is just getting more and more awesome. He has truly learned how to seal the deal. And I knew it. I knew it! When we CDB leaving and the Termites approaching, I told my husband - "Watch, it's a ruse. They're not really leaving". So glad I was right. That was just perfect. The entire cannibal storyline was perfect. It was just long enough to be creepy and interesting, but they ended it before I wanted to poke my eyes out (*cough*Governor*cough*). Another great moment was Tyrese coming in to finish the job for Sasha. He's a great big brother. And it kind of atones for his previous inability to kill. Kind of. I loved the tender Bob-Rick moment too. Bob's end got to me more than I thought it would. RIP, Bob. I guess we'll never find out what's in the box. Michonne got her katana back! Sweet justice. I hate the group being separated, but it might be more interesting in the end. We shall see. I did have to laugh when Tara offered herself up in a deal to get Abe and co. to hang out a bit longer. What good is that going to do??? If anything, she'd be more of a hindrance. Sweet, naive Tara. What the fuck is the deal with Carol??? Why they gotta leave me hanging like that??? 9 Link to comment

PrincessEnnui October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 I don't mean to lay into Maggie, but she can seriously needs to go. This is what I hate about romantic relationships in fiction. Once two characters get together, everyone else in their social circles (family, friends, coworkers) can just fuck off and die for all they care. Man, did Glenn and Maggie (especially Maggie) get hit with this hard. 23 Link to comment

Enero October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 Great episode! Yay! Michonne got her machete back! Sad that Bob died. But so glad that his death wasn't completely in vain. The stupid Terminus people ended up eating his tainted meat. Can Rick get anymore BADASSED? The ambushed was on the Termites was awesome. Glenn and Maggie going with Abraham and crew will not end well. When Michonne was walking towards the woods I thought Morgan was going to walk out the woods. Glad to see Darryl but still don't care where Beth is and what happened to her. Tyrese looked horrified by the massacre and having to finish off Bob. The entire reason Abraham decided they had to change plans and leave immediately was because there was a "threat to Eugene". But now that the Termites are all dead, that threat is gone. So couldn't they just wait around a bit, despite the promises that were made? Was it wrong that I smiled a little when Rick and them slaughtered The Hunters? If it is, I'm eternally damned. Irishmaple October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 I have never loved Bob more. I thought the poor guy was sinking into despair but instead he was laughing his ass off. Tainted Meat has never sounded so good, and his absolute glee as he delivered the line was awesome. Excellent stuff. He made the Termites sick and freaked them right out. Badass move, Bob. I swear I willed Rick back into that church. I was sitting there, gnawing on my lip, as Gareth taunted the people inside the church. I was hoping Rick and the others hadn't really gone to the school, but I wasn't sure enough to feel comfortable. I was genuinely concerned for Judith and Rosita and the others (except possibly Eugene) Chandler Riggs has developed one hell of a 1,000 yard stare over the years and Carl looks like he can take care of business. Rick telling the Termites to drop their weapons was such a sweet moment and then he shot Gareth, who never stops trying to justify himself, does he? Rick kept his promise, and I liked that he did it not just for revenge but to keep other people from crossing the Termites' path in the future. Michonne is finally reunited with her katana so all's good in the world. The little actress who plays Judith is adorable. She seems very comfortable with Andrew Lincoln and the way she turned to look when Bob stared talking to Rick was so cute. I noticed Eugene balked again at going to Washington. He didn't move from the pew until Abraham ordered him to go. He's hiding something or else coming to realize that Abraham truly is relentless and Eugene is going to be in trouble if he can't deliver. I do like that Abraham apologized for being an ass, but I wish the group hadn't split again. Nice to see Daryl back so soon, and I'm dying to see who follows him out of the foliage. 11 Link to comment

mightysparrow October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 I think the rest of the cast is really going to have to work hard to best Lawrence's performance tonight. Absolutely brilliant. I had tears in my eyes during Bob's death scene but I actually sobbed when Tyreese came in to kill Bob and spare Sasha. My Tyreese is back. I've been pro-Judith up to now but I was too through when she started to cry. Black men represent! Seth was so good tonight. I hope Father Gabriel sticks around. So glad Gareth is gone. Michonne has her katana and all is right with the world. I think she's accepted that she can't become June Cleaver in this world and that she needs her katana because it's part of who she is. 3 Link to comment
HalcyonDays October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 Tainted meat - oh, loved the giggling by poor Bob - he didn't deserve his fate, but the Termites did! However, we don't know if the virus is killed by cooking the meat. *retch* Yes, Rick shot off two of Gareth's fingers, and that bastard has the audacity to cry and whine and beg for his life. Seriously? I loved Rick's response too. Okay, you won't encounter us again, but you WILL encounter someone else, and I KNOW what you will do. Some people are unredeemable and its better off to dispatch them for the greater good. Gareth being taken out by the red handled axe! Hell ya! I always yell at the TV, at these typical idiots who pull things like Gareth, like BBQing humans, slaughtering them without remorse, providing self-aggrandizing and self-righteous speechs, but them begging for your life. Really? Good on Rick, Michonne and Abraham for taking out those parasites. What I didn't like - the somewhat judgemental looks by Maggie, Glen et all. Please. You should know better by now. Maggie and Glenn went with Abraham and co. because it was fullfilling their promise. You know the two factions are going to meet up again very soon. Called it!! - Michonne gets her katana back, courtesy of a Termite. I knew it. I know she looks sad at it's meaning, but it truly is the best weapon to have. Awesome! I'm telling you, there is some shadiness with Eugene. Everytime they cut to him, he's got this shady look on his face. He knows nothing. Darryl emerging from the woods...I expect the next episode to be the same timeline, but covering what happened to Beth, Carol and Darryl during that same time. Carol brings Beth with her out of the forest. Poor girl. She's going to be messed up. Excellent episode. 7 Link to comment

What were Glenn and Maggie thinking going with these people? How can anyone believe that Eugene has the cure to the walkers? I wonder who was with Daryl. Glenn had made a promise to help keep everyone together for the attack, but beyond that, I think he just can't deal with what Rick is becoming, and the darker tone of the group in general. "Hope" (Tyreese and Glenn, among others) lost to reason and brutal effectiveness (Rick, Sasha). I think he'd rather start a new path, especially since the people he's closest to in the group (Maggie, Tara) are with him. I was really pleased they went this route with Glenn instead of just having him around to offer Hershel-isms. Glenn has been moving away from the group for several seasons now. This is a way to expand on that and give him more of his own voice and material. Edited October 27, 2014 by Pete Martell 9 Link to comment
ghoulina October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 SO where's the part where Gareth talks about going to Washington? Thank you! That's what I said to my husband, and the only reason I was a bit shocked when Gareth was killed. And, no, it wasn't part of what he said to Bob. He did mention Bob could have joined them, but he never said anything about going to DC and curing "this thing". I'm almost wondering if they spliced Abraham's words with Gareth's in the trailer to fuck with us. 1 Link to comment
