Woo Hoo!!!  3/5 this week.

I will bring some healthy oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips instead of raisins.

I love de-healthified oatmeal cookies. 😉

You must have gotten at least one triple stumper, as this was a three stumper week. Let me know!

A very not so good & in fact abysmal 0/5 this week.

You and me, @Shrek, you and me...

Well, boo hiss... 0/5 for week 5, causing me to dip below .500 overall, with 12/25 (2/12*).  At least there'll be company at the table.

Contestants didn't do so well this week either, with just 3/15 correct FJs.

Week 5:  3/5  2*   Overall:  12/25  3*.  You know, since there were 3* this week and I got 2, I'll bring meatloaf since "Two out of Three Ain't Bad" .

I plan to make scones and clotted cream to bring to my book club this week, and I'll also bring some strawberry jam.

1/5 this week… only Coca Cola. But at least it’s an asterisk!

I know I’m always bringing the cocktails (I swear, there’s not a problem), but I couldn’t resist the opportunity to share my favorite adult beverage,  Cherry Cokes. Just a simple blend of Diet Coke and Disaronno, but so very  refreshing. Have a Coke and a smile!

1/5, no *.

Since I’m just back from leaf peeping in New England, I’ll bring freshly pressed apple cider.

My daughter just made mulled cider yesterday. Delicious. I love all versions of apple cider.

I found that American cider is very different to British cider.

M/W/F = 3/5 and 2* I believe.

Sorry to be so late to the party... it's our Thanksgiving weekend and I've been way too busy in the kitchen. I'm threatening thinking next year we'll go to a restaurant - but then I won't have a frig full of leftovers :-(

Hope y'all like pumpkin pie with freshly whipped cream!

Not sure where to post this... for some reason, I am unable to "like" (etc.) posts - it may be my aging laptop or the fact that every time the Mr borrows it, it comes back slightly broken. Maybe it'll fix itself if I reboot?

Wish I could reboot me.

All that to say, I enjoy all your posts!

That is odd. Do all the usual stuff - reboot, log out/back in to Primetimer, try a different browser and a different device, but if you’re still having problems, post here:

3/5 with one *.  From long ago early American lit courses, I remembered that it was from the Natty Bumpo stories but wouldn't have been able to tell you Pathfinder for all the apples in an orchard.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends/neighbors!

I loved the one time we ate out for Thanksgiving - but yes, the downside is no leftovers. :(

There's no leftovers for me at my SIL's house - her son & DIL bring their own Tupperware & take it all home with them. She's powerless to stop them.  This year, nobody's offering to host, so SIL & I are going out together & ignoring the rest of 'em.

Week 6 – October 14 – One Asterisk

26.     CORPORATE MASCOTS - A 2014 tweet said that this mascot was the "embodiment of a milkshake or taste bud" (Grimace)
27.     PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION ACCEPTANCE SPEECHES - He talked of a "new Attorney General" 4 times, the end of a "long dark night for America" & "a gentle, Quaker mother" (Richard Nixon)
28.     COLLEGE TOWNS - 2 schools in the Southeastern Conference are located in cities with this same name but in different states (Columbia)
29.     *LETTERS OF THE ARTIST - In 1896 he wrote, "My prices are 2000, 3000 & 4000 dollars for head & shoulders, 3/4 length & full-length respectively" (John Singer Sargent)
30.     LITERARY GEOGRAPHY - A N.Y. Times article recognized Sands Point & Kings Point as the real "old-money" & "nouveau riche" settings in this novel (The Great Gatsby)

3/5 no asterisk for me this week. :)

Looks like the treatment didn't wipe your memory!
(I lost a lot of 2016 that way)

I think your scores mopped the floor with all of us! 👏

Get lots of rest and fluids, whatever the case(s) may be.❤️‍🩹

2/5 (W/F and so sorry I missed Thurs as I love being a WTF!)

I'm happy to report I can like posts and give hugs once again...

Wish I could share the incredible beauty we're living in right now - the autumn colours are dazzling - the reds, oranges and golds are simply stunning this year. There was a HUGE rainbow the other morning that blew my mind. Doesn't take much these days

So happy you are back! I tried to pm you when you missed a few weeks and Primetimer said something along the lines that no communication was allowed (said that for another member of our tribe as well).

Sending you healing vibes.

3/5 with an *.  Nixon was the only one I was really sure on - I was in my young teens at the time of Watergate and it/he was a major part of my political history education.  Singer Sargent was the only answer my brain could come up with but both it and Gatsby were wild guesses.
