Season 41 Final Jeopardy Contest

That library cake is amazing.

I had never seen the cake before, so I had to look it up. Apparently it's world famous:

Article describes how it came to be, and what has happened once folks started to share the image (both to librarians and to the cake's creator).

I will bring a library cake for all to enjoy. I’m sure there is an atlas or two on the shelves, and maybe even a copy of Our Bodies, Ourselves!

I know there are a few librarians here (and many who have appeared on Jeopardy!), so I'll be the first to say it:
I have never seen that cake before, and, yes, it is amazing!

“I found out my cake was so well-known in the librarian community that ‘library cake’ has become shorthand for ‘things you have seen so often you’re sick to death of them’.”

My apologies to any librarians whose eyes glazed over at the sight of that cake! I had never seen it before today, either, and found it absolutely delicious. At least, I’m sure it will be… I call dibs on the Nessie ladle.

Not a librarian, but I'm in a particular bookstore employee group on facebook, and I have seen it plenty of times. But I still love it.

WEEK 23 (10 FEB): 4/5.

I was going through some old messages and found some convos saber5055 talking about dogs and I teared up. She was such a lovely soul. The world is poorer without you here. We love you.

Since there were a lot of questions, I tried out the single serving cookie recipe. The pictures are below. I used M&Ms instead of chopped chocolate because I thought everyone knows how big a regular M&M is.

To me, this is a BIG cookie. But then I've been chowing down on GS Cookies which are tasty, but kind of small.

The bottom was crispy and the rest chewie. Though that could be because I didn't wait for it to cool completely. 😁

Anyway, judge size for yourselves:

Week 24 – February 17 – Invitational Tournament 1 Asterisk
116.     LITERATURE & SICKNESS - Still around today, this strep infection that causes a rash has terrible effects in "Little Women" & the "Little House on the Prairie" books (scarlet fever)
117.     SUPREME COURT DECISIONS - This landmark case was reported in the N.Y. Times not on the front page but in "News of the Railroads" (Plessy v Ferguson)
118.     *THE ANCIENTS SPEAK - He wrote, "I must make the founder of lovely & famous Athens the counterpart... to the father of... glorious Rome” (Plutarch)
119.     THE SOUTHWEST - The 4-syllable name of this city is almost identical to its namesake town in Spain, except that the Spanish one has an extra "R" (Albuquerque)
120.    COMPOSERS - Yale takes credit for starting a commencement tradition when it gave this composer an honorary doctorate in 1905 (Elgar)

0/5 for me this week. So here's what I'm bringing

2/5, no *. Better than I expected in a tournament week. I survived scarlet fever, and took a correct turn at Albuquerque.

Based on precedent of “the Outlander lady” and “3 people who have never been in my kitchen,” I have decided not to appeal “Pomp and Circumstance guy.”

Also, different topic, but did (or can) someone post a cut & paste or at least a gift link for that single serving cookie? I might need something to help me recover from my scarlet fever.
