DXD526 November 2 Share November 2 1/5. TH only, like last week. This is getting boring. I'm at 2/5 if 'that club in Cabaret' counts for Monday. Couldn't come up with the name. 3 Link to comment
possibilities November 2 Share November 2 Goose egg for me. I had the idea of Cabaret but couldn't think of the name of the club, so dismissed it completely. I can't even remember what i settled on instead, but it was obviously very wrong. 3 1 Link to comment

If I hadn't caught the armadillo, I was considering claiming Gutenberg Bibles because I did think of them, but also some other possibilities before the end of the think music. Anyhoo: Week 8: 1/5 Here are some more biscotti's to mark 1/5's with: And here's the recipe: taylormademarket.com/vanilla-almond-biscotti-cookie 5 Link to comment

(not mine) I'm 2/5 this week - Gutenberg Bibles were an instaget - I have a off the wall personal connection with Gutenberg, and I guessed armadillo (but I wasn't sure of the rabbit like ears part) 3 1 Link to comment

I found some caramel-filled chocolate armadillos when I was looking for my cookie but one of them was cut in half in the picture with caramel oozing out and frankly I didn't want to post that. 😆 1 3 4 Link to comment
possibilities November 3 Share November 3 I thought of the printing press, but not the Bible. And I really didn't think the press itself was what they wanted. Leave it to me to forget the Bible when I think of books! 6 1 Link to comment

Bliss November 9 Share November 9 I've had weeks where I thought, "ok... this is it... this'll be my perfect week!"... and then something happens - like obscure opera or art history (grrr)... and I flame out. Not this week! (Perhaps hump day's despair had something to do with it... the J! gods took pity on me?) 5/5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm still amazed my brain found kevlar in the dusty recesses. Hope everyone likes 5-layered-trifle ;-) 1 3 7 Link to comment

Clanstarling November 9 Author Share November 9 (edited) Apologies, Apologies. It's been a week...I totally forgot yesterday was Friday. Here they are: Week 9 • November 4 No Asterisks 41. 19th CENTURY LIT - All introduced in the same chapter of a novel, Grimaud, Mousqueton & Bazin are the servants of these men (The Three Musketeers [Porthos, Athos, Aramis]) 42. PHRASE ORIGINS - In 1935 an article popularized this term for the part of the U.S. where residents were "depending on rain" (The Dust Bowl) 43. COUNTRIES - This country has the most time zones in the world, including its territories in South America & off the coast of Africa (France) 44. 1960s INVENTIONS - Poly-paraphenylene terephthalamide was 1st intended to reinforce radial tires but the lifesaving polymer aka this would have many uses (Kevlar) 45. RENAISSANCE MEN - In a letter he wrote, "On August 7, 1501... we determined that the new land was not an island but a continent" (Amerigo Vespucci) 2/5 for me. I'll bring leftover Halloween candy (yes, there is some - my daughter's, not mine...) Edited November 9 by Clanstarling 2 4 Link to comment

secnarf November 10 Share November 10 2/5 - started the week off strong at least. You know, on Thursday, my brain thought "bullet proof vests" but my mouth said "Teflon". I did know that teflon is not what is in the vests, but couldn't pull the right word out of my brain. 4 2 Link to comment
30 Helens November 10 Share November 10 My week started off strong, then fell off a cliff. (In more ways than one.) 2/5. Since we all could probably use some comfort food, I will bring a giant tub of ice cream with spoons for everyone. And puppies. Because what is more comforting than puppies? 2 1 6 Link to comment

Not much on pumpkin spice (except in pumpkin pie), but I recently bought one of these snack sized dark chocolate peppermint pretzel crisps to share with my daughter. Turns out, I did not share. I couldn't stop, they were too delicious. So I'm switching my "leftover Halloween candy" to a large bag of these. :) 2/5 this week. Edited November 10 by Clanstarling 2 3 Link to comment

Actually, as long as it’s internet stuff getting knocked to the floor and not, say, my wine glass, that sounds pretty amusing. 1 2 Link to comment

Grundoon59 November 12 Share November 12 Just realized I don't think I submitted for the past two weeks - I have been recovering from a cold/flu bug (blessedly not COVID) that has been rocketing around my workplace. Haven't been doing much more than working and sleeping. So, week 8 is 3/5 and week 9 is 2/5 - grateful to get that much and sorry for the late reporting. Best thing I have eaten in the past two weeks was some great lemon-rice soup with chicken and a side of pita chips from a Greek deli my boss found when he treated us to lunch. Very glad to share with you all. 1 4 2 Link to comment
