Yes!  Lose that smear of lipstick or get an adult to apply it for you.

Just because Teresa touched his arm on the highway, she thought it was in the bag that he would chose her.  What a ditz.

For a minute there, I thought she was going to strip.

I lost a lot of respect for Kathy during this episode, and now I think with her hunch and her beady eyes she kinda looks like a raptor.

These women better hit the road and go play Bingo or Mahjong.

Someone asked how Gerry's hair could be faked.  I think his hair is probably beefed up with a fiber spray in a gold color.

Well I had no idea.

Is this like the tip I read for when a spark from my fireplace caused a little burn hole in my carpet?  You go under the couch and snip some fibers from under there and glue them into the burn hole.

I'd like to push them all in the pool for a few hours and see how they come out.

That would be quite revealing.  As would a forced X number of weeks without any visits to the med spa or beauty salon.

I happened to watch a documentary about the senior olympics a couple of days ago ("Age of Champions"), and was comparing what I was seeing there to what I see on this show.

In particular, there's a basketball team where all the women are 65-75 years old (give or take).  They're obviously in fantastic shape (and not necessarily fantastic shape for their age), but the most striking thing is how they look like real people as opposed to the shiny gristle-monsters in Gerry's harem.

396977_10152102438249358_69845284_n.jpg

What I also find interesting is that their hair length corresponds more closely to my experience with women in that age group than what we see on the show.  And I'm sure it's not just because they play basketball, because there are a lot of ponytails in the WNBA.

(The documentary also has a 100-year-old man competing in tennis.  Take that, pickleball!)

Hmmm … very, very interesting.  Yeah, what man cries like that?   I’m married a very long time and I’ve never seen my husband cry.  Maybe he did in private .. who knows.

Right especially men of his generation, like  yea, you lost your wife of many decades and she went down fast, that I can believe he would still tear  up over but crying every episode over stuff like having to cut some women who he just met is not tear worthy.

To me, "sophisticated" is pretty much the polar opposite of "rude and uncouth." Not to mention broke.

So are "sophisticated " and "savvy" HERE just another way of saying "been around the block a lot"?

All these people are 60+ of course they've all 'been  around the block'  and especially  Gerry and his lips tonguing all the women as soon as he gets a minute alone with them.

Just read some posts about her by some people who allegedly know her. Saying that she is too sophisticated/savvy for Gerry and they can't imagine her liking him for long and that these shows foster a "Stockholm Syndrome" (I agree the competition makes him more desirable and they spend their days and nights in that house thinking of him). Also that she's rude and uncouth and has no money and Gerry would be better moving on from her.

Don't shoot the messenger, just trying to keep the conversation lively. 😉

Gerry is  corny A.F.  so  I can see her being too 'sophisticated'  for him.

I have found it to block ads on the sites I go to.  Not sure if it does so consistently, however.

It has become almost impossible thru out this whole entire site to either post or read with all the ads that are constantly making my page refresh, or the page getting frozen while trying to simply scroll. It always brings me to to last post I read even after I have read well past that by then (after a unsolicited refresh) and by the time it allows me to scroll down, between freezes, to whatever post I was able to get down the page to read, it will refresh itself again. Not only on this forum, but all the others on this site, too.

When posting, it does the pain in the ass refresh while I am typing and loses what I wrote. Thankfully after the unsolicited refresh, when I click the post writing area again, it brings up what I have already written.

All these animated ads are destroying this site. I sit with my IPen and hit that teeny tiny X on the top right of all the ads while I read and scroll, and have to do it about a million times per page in order to stop the constant refreshing, and be able to read down the page without numerous refreshes happening.

I’d have written this complaint elsewhere for any site monitor to see what has been going on, with so many people just trying to read here that are having the same problems I am, but there is no designated forum area to voice my new experience here and complaint about it. This is something new on this site. Never had these problems before.

You need to install an ad blocker. Admin here won't be of any help because this site exists because of ad revenue.

The ad blocker is your choice, but others with iPads seem to have good luck with Duck Duck Go.

You explained everything perfectly.  All the things you said I have too for a few months now.  I even bought a new I pad for $300, which is doing the same thing.  I spoke with the Mod about it.  She said I should take a screen shot of before, during and after I post.  I don’t even know how to do that.  Why is that necessary?  Anyhow, his morning I got DuckDuckGo App.  So far, my screen has jumped a few times already.  Maybe it has to set in a little while?  Time will tell.  I’ve been told I should get the Add Blocker too.  It costs money as I have Safari.   Ok, my page just disappeared again.  I had to find it again.  I don’t know what to do anymore.

It allows you to search privately so maybe why it helps on these heavily loaded advertising sites.... it is an excellent browser IMO.  (so much tracking goes on so it prevents that!) I used it exclusively for a while but now I alternate with Google.  I need to try it with my iPad on this site.... my iPad just can't cope here.

FWIW, I have an iPhone, not an iPad, but I believe the software would be similar. I have AdBlock, the free version, which integrates with Safari. I got it several years ago, when there weren’t many ad blockers available and definitely none that would work with a browser other than Safari. I basically haven’t had to think about it since and I’ve had zero issues with this site (or others).

When you search the App Store for ad blockers now you get a ton of them, many with very similar names. Some of the more recent reviews for the one I’m using aren’t very favorable, but like I said, it’s been working for me, so I’m not going to mess with it!

I got the free one too (just recently) it was a bit confusing, I think I got the one that had the most reviews just called AdBlock, using on my MacBook (safari), it was recommended on Apple.

Thank you @SalaciousKitty, @deSchenke, and @SomuchTV, for the recommendation of Adblock app. I have never felt I needed something like this until recently (I agree about the 3months or so ago it started). I don’t like downloading apps, feel I really don’t need, and don’t WANT to feel as if I need some new app du’jour like the young Bachelorettes of today have no qualms about filling their equipment with. I think I do need that Adblock one though!

All I ever wanted was an Ipencil to maybe draw a bit because I really don’t have any other need for one. I finally did pick one up so very cheap, but it works so very well. Temu. I am sure you’ve all seen ads for it. Lol. Doesn’t even need an app to pair up with the ipad. I did download an app for an art app which I am thrilled with. IPastels. I love oil or powder pastels and the way they blend, and this free(or paid for upgradable one) app fills the ticket.

The pen has worked vey well to X out those ads without accidentally touching with my too big of a fingertip and activating the ad page. Once the ad is rejected by x’ing it out, Another promptly pops up a few seconds later. It’s always the same ad or one of the couple they are hard selling for the day. Every ad that is X’able, gets X’ed. It’s like playing Whack-a-mole while reading. You have to be fast! because there are usually about 3 ads in the same page space you are reading that have to be whacked intermittently…but its better than sitting thru 17 page refreshes while trying to read the posts here. It does seem to stop the page from the constant refreshing.

So, I will have to break down and download another app, or continue to play Whack-an ad, when I read here.

Same here.  I now have DuckDuckGo.  I am trying to get the AdBlocker free, but it isn’t taking.  I think they want me to pay monthly because I have Safari?  I am so sick of this shit and am giving up.  It’s all too much already.

The one I have (from years ago, works with Safari) shows up on my screen as literally "AdBlock".  The logo has a hand in a red stop sign & blue background.  In the app store, it's listed as "AdBlock for Mobile" - possibly because I'm on an iPhone, not an iPad.  It's free (app store has the option "get" rather than "buy).

I would say check the reviews, but the one that's working for me has only so-so reviews so I'm not sure if that's the best test.

Computers can be very frustrating.     Have a nice cup of coffee or tea and try again.

Two options for the morning:

1)  You can disable pop-up ads on safari through your settings.  On an ipad, open settings.   Scroll down to safari.   Scroll down and tap block pop-ups.    Toggle switch to turn on block pop-ups.

2)  Open the Mac App Store.  Search for "AdBlock".    Click on the "AdBlock for Mobile" app.  (Thanks, SoMuchTV!!)   Click "Get".  Enter your Apple ID and password if prompted.  Click "Install".   Once the app is installed, click "Open".

Tap "First:  Enable Adblock!"    Tap next.

Confirm Content Blockers are enabled by going to Settings > Safari > Extensions

Make sure all three AdBlock content blockers are set to on (green)

Those who are pooh-poohing pickleball have obviously never seen a pickleball tournament or younger people (20s-40s) playing. Sure, older people do play it--especially those who used to play tennis but can't move as quickly anymore, so they need a smaller court, which pickleball provides--but it's not just an old person's game.

I was going to answer this, but SoMuchTV and hyacinth have explained it well. Yes, it is Adblock for Mobile and the logo is the red circle with white hand. Hyacinth did a great job on how to install and enable it.

ETA - I just use the free version

Gerry gives off old man energy which doesn’t have to do with age but more with attitude. My husband and I are in our 60’s but we just have a younger state of mind. I think the insistence on women being super thin these days makes these women look frail and scrawny. When you add in the long thin hair it doesn’t look great. Still I give them credit for coming on the show and showing the world that older women don’t need to be in a rocking chair knitting.

So sorry, but does anyone remember who posted in DETAIL how to get the AdBlocker?  It was a couple of hours ago.  I went to get my info and when I came back, I couldn’t find it and who the Poster was.  I can’t find it.  It was step by step for a dummy like me.  I already have DuckDuckGo.

It could be, even if the daughter had other family members to help her, she may have been suffering from postpartum depression or something and Joan didn't want to take the chance of not tending to her.

To me Joan was hard to look at.  There's something going on with her upper lip area and nasal folds. I think it's too much filler and Botox because it barely moves.  It looked like it was hard for her to talk also.

I almost screen capped that shot of Teresa and Kathy at the talent show.  Their expressions are comedy gold.

Leslie, though fit and pretty, looks like she needs a shower.

It'll be interesting to see who he ends up with.  And if they last.

Congrats on the baby.  Very thrilling.  I thought the same of Joan’s lip.  She was probably prettier before all the whatever.  Altho Leslie’s hair was long, it looked a little sloppy.  My 2 daughters had c sections.  Theyareso common now, not like years ago.  Too common.  Have a ball feeding, holding and playing with baby.  It’s the best.  I have six. 😀

My mom helped out when I had mine. She helped make meals, clean up and just keep me company since I couldn't move so well and my ex was working. In the evenings, my dad came over to have dinner. Once my ex was home, my parents would go home. They lived only a few miles away.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that of Leslie. She is pretty though.

Just caught up on the last two episodes. They seem so short with just one solo date and one group date (and the fact that they ARE short episodes).

Edith was so gorgeous! Would have loved to see more of her.

April looks like Jessica Lange. Faith looks like Katey Sagal.

Not a big fan of Leslie. She seems like she actually belongs on the younger version of the show. I don't mean that as a compliment.

I'm sorry, but who is that photographer for the photoshoot dates? Or maybe the better question is, why is anyone hiring him? Those photos were BAD. Like drunk photo booth at a wedding bad.

Yes! I thought the same thing - her lips look like someone whose face has been pulled too tight, you know what I mean???? And I also wondered if she has had a lip flip which I think almost always makes people look absolutely ridiculous. Most people (especially in this age group!) don't have top lips that puffy and full........Teresa also has those crazy stretched lips, which are even more unfortunate on her with her wide grin.......

It's a fun side game with this show - guess what plastic surgery the participants have had???? ;-p

I really liked the first one .. a blonde, long hair, in a gold gown.  I don’t remember if he even spoke to her.  Did he?  Forgot her name.  She looked and seemed nice.  Then he goes and picks Kathy and Teresa.  Two anxious troublemakers.  WTH?

The knockout senior bombshell in the gold gown was Edith- I am shocked that he didn't choose her, but his loss will be another man's gain.  Total side note, but was Edith from outside of America? She had a great accent, but I can't place it.

I don't think that he talked to her other than greeting her at the limo, giving her a rose and saying the final goodbye.  He needs an eye exam if he didn't recognize her beauty!

Maybe he felt out of her league?

Total side note, but was Edith from outside of America? She had a great accent, but I can't place it.

I believe she's Hispanic. I think her last name was Aguirre. At the end of the episode Kathy was talking about Susan ( short-haired gal doing everyone's hair) having gas. Someone quipped it was because of Susan's meatballs, and then some other comment  about Edith's guacamole.

I agree Edith was stunning.
