The actress who plays adult Lottie looks nothing like her and it takes me out of the show For me it’s the height difference. Young Lottie looks about 5 ft 10 and is noticeably taller than all the girls. Older Lottie looks a lot shorter by comparison. Especially when with the other women. Black Knight May 14, 2023 Share May 14, 2023 I had trouble connecting to Simone Kessel at first, but once they started showing her fear and concern over the various things that are happening, I had no further difficulty connecting her to Courtney Eaton's teen counterpart. They have that same vibe of trying to do what's best for people (even if I suspect that they're wrong more often than not about that) and of being haunted by what they've seen and experienced. I see now why Kessel was cast. Her physical appearance may not match up perfectly (although I think you can make an argument that someone who's spent ten years in an institution after enduring starvation and cannibalism as a teenager may have some physical development and eating issues), but she gives me the same vibe as Eaton. 7 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/123036-all-the-buzz-media-for-yellowjackets/page/4/#findComment-8000162
Thalia May 26, 2023 Share May 26, 2023 ET has learned that while we didn’t see Ritter yet in these nine episodes of season 2, he will appear in the world of Yellowjackets at some point. With this series, you never know where he might pop up. Additionally, during a convo about the finale, Kevin Alves, who plays young Travis, said that there was stuff in some of the episodes that they filmed that didn't make it on the show. And that several longer scenes were trimmed down in the final cut. https://www.aol.com/yellowjackets-why-jason-ritter-did-184202035.html 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/123036-all-the-buzz-media-for-yellowjackets/page/4/#findComment-8018333

I'm not sure there's enough material for a 5 season run, unless they cover much of the post-rescue timeline. If not, they risk becoming another Lost, where the build up led to a fizzled out conclusion. With that said, nothing annoys me more than people complaining about episodes where 'nothing happens'. It was a common gripe during Game Of Thrones as well. It's like viewers don't understand that you have to build characters and relationships so their actions are believable when the big stuff goes down. As far as Tai, Van and Shauna not having a bigger reaction to Nat's death, these women have been living with severe trauma for 25 years. They're not going to have typical responses to anything. aghst February 17 Share February 17 4 minutes ago, snarts said: I agree with the mashsble article. Just watched the first two eps, meandering is an apt description. It sounds like if the episodes underwhelm, it may have to do with the show runners wanting to produce a certain number of seasons or episodes, for financial and other reasons, than telling the best possible story about a tragic accident and the survivors making it back to civilization, resume their lives. That kind of story is finite though, like Gillian's Island finally getting rescued, though that was on for several seasons. Or the modern version of Gilligan's Island, Lost, which kept the party going for 5 seasons, 100-some episodes, about people who survive a plane crash so either they survived and got rescued or they didn't. 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/123036-all-the-buzz-media-for-yellowjackets/page/4/#findComment-8583006

snarts February 24 Share February 24 Good review of S3.E3 100% felt this: We don’t need to know what a show’s master plan is—in fact, it’s more fun if we have to keep guessing at it—but it’s crucial to feel that there is one, or at least that the writers are capable of coming up with an explanation that makes everything seem inevitable in retrospect. We don’t need to know where we’re going, but we need the sense that we’re going somewhere. Otherwise we’ll start shaking that mystery box, listening for the rattle until we wonder if there’s anything inside it at all. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/123036-all-the-buzz-media-for-yellowjackets/page/4/#findComment-8588927

Otherwise we’ll start shaking that mystery box, listening for the rattle until we wonder if there’s anything inside it at all. Once they reveal what exactly happened in the wilderness and how the survivors resumed their lives, the show is over. They could really do that in two seasons if they wanted to. But they're vamping with side plots and filler episodes to keep the show going for at least 5 seasons. I think these show runners are the first time they created and ran a show. They want to make money, keep the show on the air as long as possible. Showtime needs multiple seasons to keep people interested in subscribing. They caught lightning in a bottle with season 1. But they don't have a good plan other than to produce enough seasons and episode to make some money. So they're just delaying the revelation of what happened, after which most if not all people would stop watching and go on to something else. But here's the problem, some of us have already stopped watching and gone on to other shows. There are A LOT of shows out there and more coming out all the time. If they are unnaturally slow-rolling the story-telling, people are going to tune out. sistermagpie February 24 Share February 24 I've never really understood this show being described as a mystery box show. The characters all know what happened--whether or not there was/is anything supernatural isn't a solveable mystey, it's just more character stuff. They told us from the start where this was going. 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/123036-all-the-buzz-media-for-yellowjackets/page/4/#findComment-8589442
Black Knight February 24 Share February 24 (edited) Five seasons isn't particularly lengthy for a TV show. If this was just about money-grabbing, they'd have come up with a plan for 7 or more, or at least not gone around telling everyone from the start that the plan is for 5. The Yellowjackets S3 premiere broke its own record (previously held by the S2 premiere) of being the highest-viewed episode in Showtime history. And it broke that record by 58%. Some people always tune out as a show goes on. But with some shows, new people come in, and that's clearly been the case for Yellowjackets. S1 landing on Netflix had a lot to do with it, doubtless. On another subject, in a fun Easter egg, you can call that ice cream parlor number in E3 and get a message. aghst February 24 Share February 24 It is for this kind of show. Once the mystery is revealed, the show is over. And they could easily reveal the mystery within 2 seasons. Obviously it's a choice not to. Now if they wanted to make a show which can organically be sustained for 5 seasons, they write a different kind of story. But that is not the case.
