I never watch this show, except for the last 15 minutes.  Was Katie this fresh to the men all throughout?  She appeared very obnoxious, outspoken and rude.

I had the show in, and my husband saw part of it. He never watched before,  and the first half was missed by our dvr due to storms. His reaction was shock that a bunch of guys competed for a woman who was so bitchy.

He didn't understand why she was so mad at a guy who didn't want to marry her, if she wanted to marry someone else.

Here's a picture of who Kaitlin used to remind me of-Lacey Chabert, aka Gretchen Wieners!

I think on some level, Kaite is pissed that she didn't get her full "Bachelorette" experience.  The men aren't supposed to leave until she sends them packing.  If she really thought Greg was acting, she could have called his bluff and told him she loved him and would stop the process at that point.  She was too stuck on taking the "journey" to the usual conclusion. If she wasn't sure if it was him or Blake, she should understand exactly why that upset him and let him leave gracefully.  By attacking him after choosing Blake, she just made herself look petty and silly.  She wasn't as verbally aggressive with Michael on TMTA, but she was very cold to him and seemed angry when he had a perfectly valid reason for wanting to leave.  Again, if she really saw herself with him at the end, she had the opportunity to stop things at that point.

I think she and Blake both got what they wanted from the process -- He was finally the "chosen" one and she got her illusion of a "fairytale" ending.  I don't think this relationship will go any further than that.

I agree!!! She wanted 3 fantasy suites and 3 guys mooning over her. One of thie things that made me REALLY really realize how overblown her ego is, is when she made a comment about "oh another night, another heart I have to break" really kaite?? you are not all that and role "bachlorette" doesnt make you the queen. after seeing how nasty and flippant she was to Greg , and her aunt who was so nasty, Katie is really not a good catch.

I think we saw shades of this bitter, kind of cruel Katie when she sent Thomas (I think it was him) home.  Instead of just not giving him a rose and escorting him out, she called him up, chewed him out in front of everyone and demanded he "Get out" while pointing the way out.  It was over the top and unnecessary, just like her actions toward Greg last night.  She's not over him and she's not "in love" with Blake.

I wish I could like this 1000 times!

Katie's propsal dress was awful.   She looked like a child playing dress up.      Also, the nudie inserts reminded me of a figure skating costume.    It was just bad.     But maybe that is how they make gowns for horseback riding.  🙅‍♀️

In addition to the dress itself being awful, as described, it looked like it would have been more appropriate for an elderly matron.

I actually liked the dress for Katie and thought it looked very good on her, unlike the proposal monstrosity.

Exactly! She wouldn't have three guys fawning over her in real life, so why would she expect it on the show?! And for Katie's main schtick being sex positivity, the fantasy suite episode was very underwhelming.  She really isn't all that; very self absorbed, hot headed and she doesn't have a captivating personality or good looks.  Katie was as mean as a junk yard dog to Greg during the reunion and I give him major props for calmly communicating with her rather than fighting fire with fire and tearing her down.  Katie's aunt is an angry, jaded woman who uses an abrasive personality and flippant remarks as a defense mechanism.

Katie goes to her proposal site, surrounded by a landscape of dead trees and dead, dried-up tumbleweeds. Throw some big old pots on a wooden deck and call it a day. Nice.

Show continues to save on its budget. Couldn't even spring for a bouquet of flowers.

This was such a disappointment to me.  They could have really made a beautiful southwest-themed setting.  Close-up it was at least somewhat attractive.  But the farther away shots actually looked like a junkyard.

I’m pretty thankful Katie didn’t get the whole fantasy suite experience because I would have had to pry my eyeballs so far out of the top of my head if I had to listen to three recaps of her sexy time with Kaitlyn. I’m sure Tayshia was happy to give her the honor.

I was here for her laying into Greg. He did treat her really badly, IMO, and he did feel like he needed special consideration on top of the reassurances she gave within the context of the show.

He hit her with a whole lot of "if you really loved me, you would haves..." Not cool. Continued hoops and shifting goalposts. He knows what her obligations were. I'm sure they talked quite a lot, and the show also explained to him what had to unfold. I don't believe he really wanted to end up with her at the end. And I love how flustered he was (or pretended to be) at just how angry she was, irrespective of her happiness with Blake. I have no doubt that he has heard much the same from other girlfriends.

I hope Katie and Blake are right for each other. She was very adamant at every interaction with these guys that she was there for long-term commitment.

This actually got me thinking about what the difference was between the two situations that caused Katie to react so differently.  With Katie, I think she got the sense that Greg wanted those actions from her (saying I Love You and ending the show for him), and if she did that, then perhaps subconsciously she framed that as not being strong and independent.  With Blake, once she saw that he wasn't asking anything of her, and in fact was staying even after she said she considered leaving, then she could frame it as her decision, which is consistent with strong and independent.

Auntie was letting her biatch flag fly, wasn't she? She was letting him KNOW!

I had no problem with Greg exclaiming his love for her. I doubt that her "I just love looking at you" was her immediate reaction. I wondered if it was edited that way. Regardless, he saw how flustered, thrown off, apologetic, and reassuring she was immediately after that. Even if he didn't get the exact phrase out of her that she herself said she wanted to save until final day, he got every assurance but that. I agree with Katie that if he truly had deep, genuine feelings for her, he wouldn't have turned on a dime that night nor kept it going after sleeping on it. Girl was on her knees pleading to him, and he withheld for whatever his reasons were. But it resulted in her being cast aside by someone who loved her less than 10 hours before. And I'm sure production came to him and explained again the parameters of the show to him. Either he was acting or he has some relationship maturing to do.

And the premise of the show is that they are indeed there for *her*. So he can miss me with all his "you're not up here and I'm down here" BS. Because if *he* were the Bachelor, he'd be doing what was "right for him," too. TRUST.

But that's exactly what she did!  By her own admission at ATFR, every feeling she had for Greg was gone after, I think it was, the moment when Blake stuck around even after she said she almost left (I may have the moment wrong, but not her admission).  So if she truly had deep, genuine feelings for Greg, she wouldn't have turned on a dime either...and, paradoxically, it proves that what Greg was saying all along was correct!

I don't agree that the situations are the same. But that's ok. I don't think she literally meant as Greg drove off in the SUV that she stopped thinking about him and her feelings vanished.

But I do feel that Katie had time to process how Greg treated her after the fog of him leaving wore off. She also had Blake's reaction to her Bachelorette duties and her multitude of emotions to compare to Greg's reaction. Blake understood and respected the process. And his love for her kept him there. That helped her to right herself and her feelings.

If Greg did become the Bachelor, he would absolutely not cut his journey short for a bachelorette. Not. I feel very, very sure about that. None of them should have to, actually.

Truthfully I'm completely baffled by the Greg Katie thing.  I assumed Katie had picked Greg from night 1 as she basically kept assuring him on camera that he was the one.

So it's either that Greg didn't understand the concept of the show and wanted Katie to say "I love you"/"I choose you" out loud on camera

OR

Greg wanted to bail on Katie and came up with a way to break up with her.

I don't know what it is, but I lean towards the latter.  If Greg really loved and wanted Katie he could stick it out.  His behaviour makes no sense.  Katie was fulfilling the demands of the show.  So what?  She should be allowed to do so.  He's kind of crazy if he can't accept that, and I wouldn't want him as a partner anyway.  Why on earth would he come on the show if he couldn't handle how it works?

I think Katie had real feelings for Greg and if she was being honest, should probably have bailed on the show when Greg did.  I do like Blake as a television personality, especially this season, but I don't see how or why Katie should have accepted the proposal.  Then again, I don't see how or why she should have accepted him on the show and kept him for this long at all. I can't believe his plan of "I'm going to knock on every single door until one opens" actually worked.

Additionally, although Tayshia might have been more comfortable with where to place her hands, there were too many times when both girls held their hands in the same position.  Seated, hands on lap, one crossed over the other...primly.  The one I never like is hands clasped together just below belly level...which is magnified when two of them are doing it.

It's okay to have one's hands loosely by your side...even if it's uncomfortable for YOU.

Same with men.  They always look in protective mode.

D-E-S-P-E-R-A-T-I-O-N.    Apparently she needs a showbiz career.  There's lots of attention and money to be made even as a minor "celebrity."  If she plays the Bachelor Nation game correctly, she won't have to toddle back to the bank.

I read an interview with Katie today that said that she's moving to San Diego.  I guess that's for her new showbiz career.

Speaking of Seattle, I hear that you’re moving to San Diego, California!

I think we're not given enough information to make this claim. The narrative they gave us is not the only story that happens.

Katie said to Greg, "If you leave, this will all be for nothing"... and to the producers, "I'm done.  Book my flight home". That doesn't sound like someone who was in love with Blake.

I would agree if I hadn’t seen Blake fall in love with three consecutive Bachelorettes. Three women with nothing in common but their ability to keep his face and name on TV. In my opinion he stayed despite Katie telling him she almost left, because no way was he leaving without being dragged out. He probably thought If Katie left, production would fly in another Bachelorette and they could kick it straight to the Fantasy Suites.

Could be. Could be not. Time will tell. :) I think these shows prove the psychology of what can happen when a person is presented with multiple options to find a connection. I won't even say love. Just a connection. There are many people that we can all connect with under the right circumstances.

The fact that Blake stayed and listened to her despair over Greg's departure tells me that he was in it for the TV show. It was so embarrassing to watch her desperately try to spin this is a happy ending and a great love story. It was one person with a bruised ego looking to be validated and another person with an agenda to continue their TV time.

I just can't believe that out of 31 guys, this is the lump she got engaged to. A lantern-jawed, balding horndog, whose skinny jeans only accentuate his stumpy legs and big butt. Just because something is trendy, it doesn't mean you HAVE to wear it, Blake. There are still classic, tailored pants, buy some.

Even the zombified, cue card-following dolts in the studio audience recognized that Katie was proving Greg's point, they kept clapping when they weren't supposed to.

He's saying that he was talking about true feelings and she was  using show terms and her snappy retort is to say "well, there were 3 relationships going, GREG, that's how this works...." Well yes, that is how this dumb show works, but if actual feelings had developed, that would have taken center stage. Anyone who feels deeply enough about someone that they're considering an engagement in 2 days or so isn't thinking about anyone else, much as the show wants to pretend they're all contenders til the bitter end. They could walk through the motions to hide the outcome and allow the editors to cobble together a close race, but the feelings would show through. Hers didn't, so all of her insistence that the "signs" were there all along is Monday morning quarterbacking to make herself seem like she's in the right.

And now she's shackled to this Canadian doofus for the foreseeable future because her pride isn't going to let her admit that this isn't actually true love. She's probably hoping those trips to Africa are lengthy and frequent so she can keep wearing the ring and doing the entertainment circuit without having to actually be with the guy.

I maintain that Greg’s inability or unwillingness to “respect the process” is a huge indication that he truly did love Katie (or thought he did). Even if you know what you signed up for, if you truly fall in love with someone, you do NOT want to watch them macking on and fantasy suite-ing with other people! I’m flabbergasted that so many contestants are actually okay with this and even sometimes get married in the end.

And why is the Bachelor/Bachelorette the only one allowed to break someone’s heart? Greg didn’t do anything terrible to Katie. He may not have argued in a terribly mature manner, but he was obviously just done with the process and wanted out. I think he was heartbroken that the girl he thought loved him was really loving being the Bachelorette more than anything else. I still had some empathy for Katie after the penultimate episode, but that ATFR performance of hers was just unconscionable. She didn’t look strong; she looked like a bitter b!tch who was pissed that several guys, including her #1, bailed on her. It wasn’t a good look.

I guess one might ask did she do that because he really was her #1, or because she didn’t want another suitor (contestant) leaving?  I don’t know, but I do think she gave Greg a lot of hints that he was #1.  And she was trying to follow the “rules,” after Clare broke the rules.

Truly, I have never understood the Fantasy Suites as a “try out” sexually. But I am old.  I still think/wonder of some of these FS’s are just a chance to talk and air things out.  I would certainly not want to be screwing 3 different guys, nor would I want my potential fiancé doing so as a deciding factor in his decision.  Surely I/they know before then.

This is GREAT!  Also, three guys she could have been "sex positive" with.   EGAD!   Our area had the "never had sex" guy, so there was a large...very large article in our state's major newspaper--circulation just under 120 thousand.  He's very positive about everything...including Katie... including that "cuddling" display.

I don't buy it either...that's my bolding.  I didn't count that as "getting on her knees." It wasn't some sort of "begging" posture.  She was probably asked to get in that position for better camera angles.  Some production assistant probably gave her the "on my knees" suggestion after the fact.

But Katie did not tell Greg she was in love with him.  She was specific that she was going to wait until she absolutely  knew who her final person would be.

Greg said he was in love with her.  Then he got mad that he didn't feel like she was on the same page or he was mad at her that she couldn't convince him how important he was.

People aren't always immediately on the same page in relationships even outside of the bachelorette world. Is Greg gonna scram every time he faces that situation?  I think the difference between Blake's ILY and Greg's is that Blake said it without expecting a declaration in return.  But he also told her how he felt her love in actions she took.  He knew how to take what she gave him.

Katie said to Greg, "If you leave, this will all be for nothing"... and to the producers, "I'm done.  Book my flight home". That doesn't sound like someone who was in love with Blake.

Maybe she wasn't at the time.  Or maybe she was demoralized, frustrated and sad.  She got over it pretty quickly.

I still think/wonder of some of these FS’s are just a chance to talk and air things out.

Many leads and contestants have been open that the fantasy suites are mostly a place where some of the most serious, honest and straight forward conversations happen once the cameras leave.  Yes, sex can also happen; and often does with the final 1s.  And sometimes it happens with the final 2s but almost never with all three.

For instance, I would be shocked if Tayshia slept with Ivan. I believe I read that Matt didn't sleep with any of his final three.  Nick only slept with his final 1.

I CAN'T ... I CAN'T.   I can't keep spending so much time on this forum.  WORSE, I can't keep spending time and effort cutting/pasting...sending this stuff to my best friend (since 1948) who watches all these shows RELIGIOUSLY...but won't read this stuff on her own--something like this especially.  THIS IS FABULOUS !!!   Lantern-jawed, balding horndog.  The only thing I'd change is "skinny jeans."   "Capri pants" reads funnier.   I LOVE YOU!!!

I've seen her interviewed with Blake in the aftermath and she seems happier and lighter than she was on the show.

They both needed coaching; maybe it worked.  Or...maybe they're both relieved that that hardest part (being filmed) is over...for now.

But Katie did not tell Greg she was in love with him.  She was specific that she was going to wait until she absolutely  knew who her final person would be.

She hinted to him, to us (more than once) AND to his mother that he was her Number One.

Hmmm...if word gets out, Bachelor Nation ain't gonna like THAT!!  I really don't watch/follow this franchise to know much...but is there a source for those last six words?

I finally made it through the episode and I felt myself shrinking into the couch both when Katie’s charming as hell aunt was grilling Blake and then when Katie confronted Greg. Also a little bit with Zozorba because weird.
Sounded like Katie was trying to convince herself she’s in love with Blake.

I don’t care enough to analyze this season any more. They’ll never make it to the altar but at least she saved face…sorta.

That's not the same thing as being in love.  I think he probably was her leader and had been since night 1 but I think Greg and Blake appealed to different sides of her.  I think Greg appealed to her because they connected over losing a parent. I think she was attracted to him. I think his melancholy made her want to make him happy and take care of him.  He also had a two week lead over Blake. I think Blake's chill attitude appealed to her.  He was less needy. They just had similar vibes.

I don't think any Bachelor or Bachelorette should ever consider leaving before Fantasy Suites. I don't care how much they think they've found the right one.

Ha.  Depends on who bachelor nation is.  People who follow this show closely?  Listen to podcasts? Watch interviews...etc.  They already know.

As for a source, no I don't have one.  I just read Reddit every now and then and that's where people have compiled what they know from what contestants and leads have said.

Once again, it's taking me days to get through an episode. Almost wore my finger off liking posts at one point, I am so fired up on Greg's behalf!

Loved the nervous little shuffle he did when he saw how angry she was when she came out - yeah, that's a psychopath for you, nervy guys those psychopaths. The way he shifted a bit further away on the edge of the bench seat when she glared at him until he nearly fell off onto the floor.

What a bitter, silly, vengeful biotch. Did not do herself any favours there. God, he dodged a bullet - more than a bullet, a full round with a submachine gun.

For someone who objects so vehemently to 'acting' I am surprised she doesn't seem to notice Blake's actual hammy acting. His post-proposal horse had the final say, I think.

Also, I don't like the two women as co-hosts. Their content added little and was distracting; their outfits at rose ceremonies often outshone Katie. I did not enjoy them to the point that I would be grateful if even Ick Vile took over the role. I think it needs someone with a little gravitas, and too squealing women in sparkly gowns is not that. Bring back Chris!

[Weird chunk of blank space left here, so I will return to fill it...All those people on BIP are precisely the ones I never want to see again; big bonus is Blake won't be on it (one hopes).]

I can't believe his plan of "I'm going to knock on every single door until one opens" actually worked.in bachelor world “sticking it out” means watching someone you are crazy about make out and possibly have sex with other people - i of course would never join a show like this but i imagine that would be brutal to even think about  i say she was pissed because greg ruined her plans to be sex positive with 3 final men. I guess her nasty, conceited and flippant attitude on after ruined her for me. After all she lamented how hard it was to “ break so many hearts” puhleeze.

I haven't posted much about this dull season but I have a little bit to add. I think Katie is a good person who wasn't cut out to be the lead character of a season. She seemed uncomfortable in her duties, especially early on, and I don't think she ever got her footing. She seemed to forge good conversational connections with guys when talking to them one-on-one, but when she was trying to navigate the in-house drama and the actual romance/"sex positive" connections, she always felt like she was trying to play a part. I have higher hopes for Michelle.

I gotta say, for the second straight Bachelorette season they ended up casting a decent group of guys in general. Obviously there are always gonna be some weirdos and villains but the maturity level and the way they treat each other in the house has leveled up slightly. Now if only the women they cast on the Bachelor could follow suit...

I don't have any tears for Chris Harrison, he willingly and ignorantly stepped right into a pile of shit and the consequences are what they are. But his presence on the show is missed. The hosting duo of Kaitlyn and Tayshia were awkward and lacked that faux-gravitas that Chris provided as an anchor for the show's shenanigans. They were always either giggly sleepover partners, or seemed like they were reading a book report. I actually think Tayshia by herself could grow into that role really well, she seemed like she had good potential and was more poised and polished. But Kaitlyn's wacky immature schtick just felt out of place for being one of the show's omnipotent shepherds.

Last bit - It bums me out every season to see how completely HATED the lead inevitably becomes by some posters on message boards and social media. They get no grace, no benefit of the doubt, they're assumed to be awful Machiavellian fame-whore "bitches/fuckboys" who can't get off the screen fast enough. I'm not naive, I know people go on the show for reasons other than true love haha. I watch the show for laughs and eyerolls just like anybody else. But damn! Outside of the few assholes each season, these are still just relatively normal/flawed human people being portrayed by a heavily edited tv show.

Seeya next season!

Whoa, what did we do????? 🇨🇦

Blake is from Canada and he's a doofus. Doofus from Canada=Canadian doofus. There was zero disparagement of the country or the rest of its people.

In this particular case, it felt extra awkward because no matter how much they tried to hide it or spin this as a love story for the ages, there was an unmistakeable hint of "Oh girl, no..." in their eyes. Katie's determination to follow the rules to the bitter end, including fabricating a soulmates/meant to be love story and trying SO hard to sell it...it's a hard story to buy. Especially after the heated exchange with Greg and rewatching the footage.

But after seeing her aunt Lindsay, I can understand where Katie's attitudes and beliefs stem from. Aunt Lindsay is clearly so afraid that someone will pull the wool over her eyes one time that she takes the offense and attacks first. I bet she's a treat at the automotive place or the doctor/dentist or any one of those places where you always feel like they may be ripping you off but you don't actually have the required knowledge to be sure. The Aunt Lindsays of the world would sooner risk driving downhill with no brakes than take a chance believing the guy at Pep Boys that hers needed replacing. For someone who took such a world-weary, know it all stance on life, she sure didn't seem to realize that a lot of life is a gamble, sometimes you do have to trust.

I hate that I had to side with Blake on that one, but he was up against a brick wall with her. Nothing he said was going to cut it, he did well to contain himself. It was a bit interesting to see Katie's mom completely wilt into happy tears, I always have to side eye a parent who truly thinks a nationally televised husband/wife search that results in an engagement after a matter of weeks is a recipe for a happy ending. Also, not sure if they specified whether Aunt Lindsay was the dad's sister or the mom's, but if she was mom's, I imagine that's a messed up dynamic between those sisters if one can't give an inch and the other one cracks after 10 minutes. Katie's nature may be more like her mom but she thinks she's supposed to be more like her aunt and that's why her attempts to be tough and no nonsense ring so false.

Also, I peeked at Katie's instagram page again and it appears that the "honey bear" nickname she awkwardly barfed out on AFTR is indeed what she calls him. That ALONE would be a deal-breaker for me, ugh.

This was such a disappointment to me.  They could have really made a beautiful southwest-themed setting.  Close-up it was at least somewhat attractive.  But the farther away shots actually looked like a junkyard.

And her dress got covered in dirt as she was walking. Could they have built a sidewalk?

She calls him "Honey Bear"?!  What a boner killer.  What happened to just calling a guy his name? That's what I do when I date!

Don't like Kaitlyn in this job.  I didn't know her previous face, but I don't think she has what it takes to "co-host."  It's insulting to think TPTB assume it requires TWO WOMEN to replace Chris Harrison.  Let Tayshia fly!

I will NEVER understand what the attraction to Kaitlyn is!  She isn't even with the guy she picked!

They need to try a Bachelorette who married the guy she picked, as the host.  Are there any other than Trista?
