I agree that it wouldn't make sense for Dean to cheat with someone else, he cheated because it was Rory, not because he wanted to cheat. Plus, they were in Rory's bedroom, I wouldn't be surprised if she got condoms there just in case, even when she was single (I still shake my head at her seemingly unplanned pregnancy in the revival).

IIRC, Lane blamed it on cheap Mexican condoms that failed and having sex on the beach trying to recreate a scene in From Here to Eternity.

I have seen the episode like 800 times and completely blocked out the condom part and only remembered the sand in places lol

I haven't made it through all 55 pages so I apologize if this nit has been picked, but having recently rewatched Say Goodnight, Gracie, and there's no way Dave read the entire Bible in one night. There's no way he even skimmed it looking for context clues of the quote he was seeking in one night. Even if you call one night 12 hours, I just don't believe it's possible. These days, you could just download a Bible on a tablet and start searching for keywords, but if I recall the internet was not that far advanced in those days.

If he was looking for the quote then he didn't need to read/skim it in the regular way. He wasn't reading/skimming for pleasure or biblical knowledge but to find out the meaning of what Mrs. Kim said. I'm honestly more skeptical that he remembered her exact words.

I was watching The Bracebridge Dinner last night and I decided that even though it's a really fun episode, it did not make a lot of sense, theme wise. They wanted "an authentic 19th century feast"  so why were they dressed in Ren Faire costumes and speaking  pseudo ye olde English? They should have been in Dickensian dress and eating roast beef and potatoes.

I always thought they were going for Renaissance times.  Guess I didn't pay attention to the dialogue surrounding it.  But, like you said, it's a fun episode.  Maybe they were trying to get us to count anachronisms like Paris.

That part always confused me. It was clearly Renaissance but not only do they call it an authentic 19th century feast" they have Paris point out a mistake but not that they were call it the wrong century. No way Paris would haven't have pointed out that mistake. But I still really love the episode.

At the end of season 3 (the Jess backdoor pilot episode if memory serves) Rory mentions that she wants to do her college shopping before the Europe trip so that it's out of the way. Then in the season 4 premiere she hasn't bought a thing to set up her and Lorelai running around in a panic after realizing the orientation discrepancy. I can buy that Rory would accidentally write the date down wrong as she's not perfect but it's more in character for her to have her Yale stuff ready to go before the trip so I wish they'd kept that. They could have just written it so that the Bono stalking delayed them enough that they returned home on Thursday and then the date mistake was realized.

Conversely Yale was within driving distance of Stars Hollow and there was no reason to act like she would get kicked out of school if she didn't have every little thing when she arrived. When I went to college I literally just took a couple suitcases of clothes and we did all my shopping after my orientation. All Rory needed was a Target close to campus (there is one according to Google) and she'd be set. The Target I've shopped at my whole life is down the street from Vanderbilt and college move in season is their busiest time of the year. They have that shit down and the one near Yale would too. If anything the reason the panic shopping was taking so long is because they didn't go to a store like Target and get it done in a couple of hours. 

It's also unclear when Rory's first day of class actually was. Given the shopping panic I initially assumed her first day was the Monday after orientation but then Lorelai showed up at the dorm on Rory's first day gushing about buying the rug and stuff from her new catalogs. These days you can get same day delivery but anyone ordering from a catalog, especially twenty years ago, would need to do a little thing called waiting a few business days. So the implication is that the Monday after orientation was NOT the first day of school which also opens up more time for Lorelai and Rory to do her college shopping. 

The shopping panic was the point of the premiere but, like so many other things, it ultimately doesn't make sense when we look at the known and implied timeline.

Why are there two Caesars? He starts off an older Asian man and then becomes the personable funny guy we become more familiar with.  And then at some later point, it's the same Asian man again.  And then changes back to the younger Caesar by the end of the series.   Why do they do this to us.

I may have figured out how Lorelai and Rory stay as thin as they are.  They seem to eat a lot of take-out leftovers that they keep around for who-knows how long.

In season 4 Lorelai sees Luke's truck and runs over to remind him about the broken window only to learn Liz is inside. No problem as it allows the two to meet. But the truck was parked in front of the diner and Lorelai chooses not to walk ten more feet to see if Luke's inside his place of business but instead asks Liz to remind him about the window. The same Liz who is about to drive away from the diner for who knows how long. Lorelai has been complaining about how cold her house is, including a frozen carcass comment as she runs up to the truck, yet decides to wait even longer for Liz to tell Luke rather than just pop in the diner to find Luke herself.

Although Richard did at least decide not to leave her ashes on the mantle to sit in judgement of Emily for all eternity, which was very sweet of him.

(And I mean that sincerely. He never wanted to make waves with his mother while she was alive, but he did at least put his wife's feelings over her wishes once she was gone.)

Its not that I wanted her to morph into Lorelai. But I had really hoped once she was in college Rory would start developing a backbone. We get that scene with her telling off Taylor and telling the crowd that he never asked her to be the soda pop queen. But then won't speak up and tell Emily that Lorelai's not at the dinner because she had to finish up getting things Rory needed for Yale because Rory messed up and wrote the wrong date down. But it never happens.

This is what I was just going to add.  She didn’t tell Emily that lorelai was getting things she needed for the next day. Maybe she didn’t want to admit that she got the day wrong, but she had a legitimate reason for not being there.  She also wasn’t required to be there.

It drives me crazy when, in Women With Questionable Morals, Lorelai says she can’t eat pancakes because they’re hangover food. She’s ordered pancakes a million times. There was a whole episode in season 2 (I think Lost and Found) where she has to go find Luke because he makes the fluffy pancakes. And another when he puts her eggs on top of her pancakes and she makes him replate it (which, yeah). And another where they eat pumpkin pancakes. Ugh.
