First HoH isn't a big deal. Idk why hg's are antsy about it.

Rachel and Hayden are two first HoH's who ended winning it all.

Well... in a regular season I’ve always considered first HoH to be the safest of the season, specifically because you have a built-in excuse to deflect a great deal of nom blowback:

Hey, none of us really knew anything about each other yet - and i had to nominate SOMEONE.  If I’d known you then like I do now, I’d have NEVER nominated you, swear to god....

Kinda hard to pull off that same schtick in an All-Star season, though.  😉

I think that's ABSOLUTELY what the show thought it was going to have this season. It would have been a great hook. Instead, they got the two sidekicks. It's kind of hilarious, really.

I vacillate on that. I'd always love to watch Dan play, so thanks, Nicole. But I don't want to see Derrick again, and I'm also looking forward to seeing Memphis play without Dan, so in that regard, I'm not upset about it.

Supposedly one of the reason to do an AS season this year was because everyone would be familiar with the mechanics of the show and help things run smoother with all the extra Covid protocols.   Yet these yahoos can't take a seat, can't take an envelope, can't find their way around a wall and completely ignore Juile.  At one point I seriously wondered if she was broadcasting into the house.  My favorite was "I know everyone wants to hug, but can you help me get the next group seated?"   After which all 3 remaining groups proceed to hug and chit chat.  Really Julie?   You're relying on the HGs to help you corral the other HGs?   Good luck with that....or not.

I’d love to see Dan play again, but I can’t imagine a scenario where he wouldn’t be an early boot.

He should have been an early jury boot in BB14 but once you're locked in the house with him his ability to manipulate people is unreal. It's sort of pathological -- when people aren't looking you can see this glee in his eyes. I have no idea what he's like in real life but if anyone was born to play BB it's him.

The longer this show goes on, the more the twists are on the producers and I'm living for it.

That said, I was really looking forward to a mostly TV-less summer and fall, but here we go with the mother of all broadcast time-sucks. Do I have the stamina? Do I have the attention span? Do I like enough of these people to see them burn that goodwill to the ground on their second/third time around? Probably.

Fuck.

I'm going to be really torn. I am loving watching the NBA bubble from the vlogs by players to the games. I kind of hope feeds are a bust tbh so I can watch Lebron, Giannis, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbook, James Harden, etc. without constantly having to switch between games and feeds. Help me out here.

I'm bummed I won't be able to catch up with the premiere until this weekend, but reading comments, it sounds like a great start to the season. I caught the Ian, Kevin and Enzo intro clips...Enzo was meh, but I really liked Kevin. Still dislike Ian, and I'd be happy for his smug butt to be an early boot. With all the big egos and personalities, I can see him being underestimated a little and squeaking (ha) by for awhile.

I'm behind as usual, but can't wait to get into the season.

I totally caught the shade about how someone said it was so surprising Derrick and Dan didn’t make it in the end “live” credits. Nicole F is probably an easy early boot. Except for the fact that these people don’t really give a fuck about two people who beat them and who are considered to be awesome players not being on the show. Damn it, I wish I could stay up long enough to see who the true (pre show) organically made alliances are, but I am fading fast.

TPTB are really serious about the HNs this season, aren’t they? The HNs don’t even get to have their HN Room.  😄

I mentioned this in the Live Chat, but since Jackson's not there, they must be reasonable sure none of these celebrated All-Stars are going to lose their shit and come close to a breakdown over being a HN.

Pre-show alliances aside, the logical choice for the first nominations are Nicole and Ian as the two winners.   It BB SOP to have "reasons" for the first nominations that don''t make waves.   Returning players alter that but I don't think Ian and Nicole have many pre-show allies (and it sounds like Nicole may have some pre-show enemies).

Plus they don't have to obliterate the budget on Placating Watermelons.

That's gonna be the same for my new band. I play the triangle.

Obviously, the band tours with Smashing Pumpkins. Pumpkins perform first, with their songs about being a rat in a cage despite all their rage, and then Placating Watermelons takes the stage to calm the crowd down with peaceful triangle solos.

Blind Melon opens, of course. Bookend the Pumpkins with the Melons.

20 minute countdown has begun which means I have enough time to tap a new cardboardeau and then sit here with the feeds music looping in my headphones just in case they switch the feeds on a few minutes early.

I usually live in the Live Feeds thread and skip the episodes or begin FFWing through them about 3-4 weeks in after the hamsters become hateful, loathsome beasts.  This season, I actually have CBS All Access (wanted to watch Picard and didn't cancel the subscription) and I'm working from home through at least Oct 1st, so I'm looking forward to actually watching some of the feeds when I'm not focused on work!  So happy to have our summer crack reality show back!

I haven't heard or seen a single thing about BBAD in any of the press releases. That's odd.

Also they changed the feeds music. I'm torn between bobbing my head and complaining because it's different and we don't like change. It's not bad but it's not FISH music. Come to think of it, I don't know if we got to see a fish tank in the house yet.

IIRC about half the time the fish tank is located in the HoH Room, which we haven’t seen yet.

Annnddd...it's the comments like these in this thread that have me here every year. Damn, you all are good, lol. I also feel the urge to bust out Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness tomorrow.

Back to lurking until I can watch the premiere *and* probably cave after less than 24 hours and get the feeds after all.

Tyler is surprised not to see Paulie or Josh.

I think he's referring to BB18/19 Paul, no? I think he pregamed with both of them and now he's a bit shook that neither of them are here.

I thought I heard the "-ie" at the end which makes sense since TMZ originally said Paulie was sequestered (which we now know was Cody).

It's possible, since Paulie and Josh obviously know each other from the Challenge.

I am now thinking that Dan and Derrick bailed early on (pre-sequester) and Hayden and Paul both actually made it to sequester before they both bailed.

Ooh, good thinking. We can get a head start on observing its 25th anniversary later this year.

Why does Bayleigh go on shows like this that require her to be social and then...not be social? She's an odd duck.

She acts like people should be coming to HER for some reason.

I was just thinking something like this! There's a big group in the living room; that's really where you should be.

There is a reason why Bayleigh and Swaggy C are made for each other.  Their egos are too much for anyone else to handle.

That was her whole thing on the last season of the Challenge.  She stayed isolated with Chris for nearly the entire season and then bitched when she was left out of stuff.

BTW haven't seen Nicole A at all.

She's been floating back and forth between the living room and the camera bedroom (putting her clothes in one of the drawers) very awkwardly.

She's in the living room right now, sitting next to Janelle.

I was trying to listen to Kaysar explain his job and all I heard from the kitchen was Enzo talking about being well-hydrated.
