Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out

Between this Twitter picture and the stabby Christine video, I have been cracking up way too much at my desk this afternoon. Probably good seeing as I'll crying into my Pepsi tonight when Donny gets evicted and someone awful--basically, anyone who isn't Nicole--wins HOH.

So feeds are off until showt time, I assume.  Donny is going from what I read.  Right?  Derrick held his ground.

Yup.  And it appears as of now, pretty much everyone left hates Frankie, and he most likely will go up if he doesn't win.

I don't know why Derrick isn't on board with saving Donny. At this point, Donny can be considered to be "after" everyone in the house, but if Derrick saved him, Derrick can use Donny to take out the others without getting "blood on his hands."

Unless someone comes up with a good reason that convinces Derrick, I don't think the save Donny campaign is going to work. Here's hoping they somehow get the news that the play was a bomb, and change their minds last minute. If Donny is gone I will root for Nicole, but I really want him to win this.

And yet Derrick was in tears during last night's show because he didn't want Donny to go. He said he'd do what the house wanted. Sounds like the house wants Donny to stay. Mmmmmm.

One more reason I want Derrick to see the inside of the jury house.

Maybe he feels that he can control Nicole more and that she has a higher chance of winning HOH then Donny. And that he can control that one.

Pretty sure that's the reason. Really hope Nichole is playing them all, wins HOH, and puts Derrick up. Of course it won't happen.

Derrick wants Donny to go because when Donny was having his talks with everyone pointing out the pecking order it was clear that his message was Derrick is runing the show.  Donny never approached Derrick to talk to him about where he fell into place in the pecking order.  Donny sees Derricks game and will expose him.  He already has but no one seems to be paying attention to what Donny was telling them.   Derrick even said in a DR talk that Donny knew his game and he feared being exposed.

I love it that everyone hates Frankie now!   How did this come about?

BB has gotten to the point that its like the movie Groundhog Day.  Every time you watch it, you know exactly what is going to happen.  The only two things I want to see tonight is Julie announcing  (hopefully) the fail of the TA mission and the HOH competition.  However, football is preempting BB here and, although Jokers usually has a link to a site where it can be watched online, I haven't seen anything there yet.  I know I can wait and see it at 2 a.m. or thereabouts, or wait to see it on CBS.com probably tomorrow, but I don't want to wait.  Does anyone here know of any link for watching?

That stabby Christine video is hilarious!  I mean, if you want a definition of "looking daggers" at someone, that is a great illustration.  By rights, at the conclusion of that little scene, Nicole should be exsanguinating under the table while Christine drags Cody off by his hair.

Since I'm sure Donny won't make F2, its best for all involved that he goes to the JH tonight.

He'll be with those who actually like him (Nicole re-joining them in a week, if she doesn't win HOH tonight, thus adding another pro-Donny person to the JH), and he'll be able to relax without the pressure of being on the block all the effing time.

ETA:  Re: the stabby video - Christine doing her best Tommy-Lee Jones' 'Two-Face' impression from "Batman Forever" at Nicole, only in a more psychotic high-pitched shrieking yell; "Why won't you just die!?!?!"

Love the Ground Hog Day reference!  I just watched that again the other night for the 5th time, at least.

I am going to ask again, sorry, I am persistant.   What made them all turn on Frankie?

It's been building for a while.  If no one had come back last week, he would have been targeted this week.  Cody was tempted to backdoor him this week.  I think Derrick is genuinely disgusted by him as a person, Cody just hates him the way he hates everything in life, and Christine has despised him since the Ariana reveal, and him supposedly acting like a diva on their NFL outing.  Him pushing so hard to keep Donny the past few days has really reignited the hate for him.

So of course he will most likely win HOH this week.

Frankie making a major push to get Nicole out since yesterday. Derrick wants Donny out and, thus, has convinced Cody he needs to get Donny out, but Frankie is sure Nicole would target him if she won HoH. I'm not sure he's wrong, but he's confessed this in front of the group and Derrick has used this to point out how Frankie is only thinking of himself and not their group. It's reminiscent of what Amanda did last year: "the house" or "our group" is really code for "ME ME ME ME [Derrick this season, Amanda last season]."

Thanks.  I had not heard or read their distaste of the NFL.  It all makes sense now that it has been building.  I get that.  It has been buliding for us too!

I've been dreaming about my best case scenario for this week, which is for Nicole to win HOH, and put up Cody and Derrick, and for those two to realize they screwed themselves for fighting for her to stay. And then Caleb winning POV and her telling him if he uses it, she'll put up Frankie, and him not using it to save Frankie. That would be fun. Although it sounds like Nicole is going to play possum for a few weeks, which I'm fine with.

But it got me thinking - who would get the boot between Cody and Derrick? Christine would vote to keep Cody, Victoria would keep Derrick. But how would Frankie and Caleb vote? I think Frankie sees Derrick as a true threat, but I also don't think he trusts Cody at all. And I'd actually like to see Caleb's brain start working, as it seems to do at he oddest moments. He might actually have some good insight. If he weren't such a stalking pathological liar, I might find myself rooting for him. But that ship sailed the 5,000th time he tried to shame Amber to others for not being into him.

I think this originally came from Reddit. Look at Christine's face while Cody flirts with Nicole.

ABC/Disney wouldn't want him. They do have some standards.

Surprised Frankie isn't one of Ariana's back up dancer. You'd think he'd jump at the chance of traveling with her.

In all honesty, I don't think he's pretty enough or young (looking) enough.  I'm not familiar with her stage show, but if her dancers are even the slightest bit sexual/seductive with her, it would probably freak people out to see (an older, harder version of) her seducing herself.  *shudder*

What I would like Donny to say in his last chance speech tonight:

"I'd like to thank you all for spending a fun summer together.  Unfortunately none of you have noticed that Derrick is running this house and has a Final 2 deal with almost all of you. Choose to keep me in the house this week, and I will help you get Derrick out."

ETA: spelling fix.

I don't think it is a good idea for Nicole to duck the HOH.  If she wins, she takes a stand with her nominations and becomes valuable to half of the house.  Go for it Nichole. Duck it and you will be on the block if one who was against you staying wins.

So, in other words, they led him with questions about how it feels to see Christine 'play the game' the way she is; ie having sex with Cody in every possible way, except for literally fornicating.  Really surprised they haven't kissed yet.  Like Christine pecking Cody on the lips, but being like "Ooops!  Sorry.  Was going for a kiss on the cheek and missed."

I'm perplexed by Frankie's choices about how to present himself while starring in a TV show all summer, just in terms of his look (in addition to showing himself to be a horrible and annoying person). Who told him it was a good idea to dress and act like a demented 12-year-old?

Maybe The New York Times, lol.   Not literally of course but he does have a big tween/young teen girl following according to my 14 year old niece.  I'm not sure if that happened before or after Ariana Grande had a hit single.

And his look and demeanor isn't an act just for BB. Before CBS cameras he was annoying people around town and filming it himself.

That video is something else and oh so Frankie.  Calling women ma'am is degrading, insulting and ignorant.  But of course he does not know that!

Please explain why this form of address is offensive.  I admit that I was raised to use it (as well as "sir") and I was unaware that some may find insulting.

I was raised to use it too. However, that was in Texas. When I moved North I've found people really don't like it- it implies they are old.  I wouldn't say it was degrading, insulting, or ignorant though.

Isn't Frankie from Florida originally? He was probably raised on sirs and ma'ams.

One of Ariana's background dancers during the Macy Fireworks on July 4th looked a little like Frankie. Also, I watched one of Frankie's videos before the season started after the cast was announced he talked about how he was obsessed with Spongebob Squarepants and watches it every day. The fact that a 31 year old single male without children watches that show every day freaks me out.

I'm from the South, and ma'am is not only acceptable, but the preferred address. I live up North now, and my mom is horrified that I haven't taught my boys to use it. In fact, they would say it if I had my way, but they took so long to talk that I am just happy with any kind of response.

Btw, Ariana has been kind of a jerk for a while. I remember a while ago she made some admiring comments about Marilyn. Monroe. When a few fans quite reasonably pointed out that MM isn't exactly the best role model for young fans, Ariana went off on them. And these were her fans, not trolls. So I think there is a fair amount of attitude and lack of self awareness in the Grande family.

I agree that in the South it's much more common to teach children to use sir and ma'am.  But I know there are women who don't like to be called ma'am because they consider its use should be for older women.  I personally don't mind sir or ma'am.  The one that gets me is being called "honey" and "sweetie".  Again, more in the South.

This is one of many aricles on the use of the word.  It would be way off topic for me to climb on my soap box about this here.  I hate it and inform those who refer to me as ma'am to NEVER call me that again.

The part of Florida he's from is pretty much all transplants from NY and NJ.  It's not really considered part of the "South."

I would certainly not use the term with anyone who requested that I not do so, but during my upbringing with my parents (in Tennessee) the use of the term was not related to the age of the person I was addressing.  It was simply considered a polite form of address.  Thanks for the insight.

At least where I am from (off topic but it's where Jersey Belle is located), ma'am is used for everyone. You would not use "miss" for anyone. But agreed that I do not consider Frankie's part of Florida the South. He would never be considered Southern, so his use of ma'am might be different. I don't know.

ETA: yes, I would certainly not use it if I thought it would offend someone. When strangers use honey or sweetheart type addresses, it makes my skin crawl, and I have actually had people tell me that's my problem when I've objected to their use.

I think why Derrick annoys me is that he is not satisfied with fooling the HGs, he also has to fool me.  Well, you tool, I see what you do, FFS.

I would appreciate his game so much more if let us in on it, rather than seeing us as someone else to be played.

I'm with you here. If you are a manipulative dick than own it. I'll respect you more. But when you throw shade my way, your a tool.

Derrick wants us to like him. We don't. He earned it. Can't wait till he finds out. Hopefully tonight he will get an inkling.

That's true, tone does have a lot to do with it. I sometimes call women my age or even younger than me "ma'am" and it's definitely not meant in a rude manner or to imply they're old. A lot of it might have to do with me being Hispanic as well, I was raised to use certain words and be respectful.
