I believe not only does Josie make money from selling 'her own' products, but also by shilling other stuff and I think she benefits from freebies too.

I mean, she's not stupid by cutting out the middle man, although there is more of a risk if she over buys and is stuck with a bunch of product, a la BSB.

But... I do think her time is limited as far as benefitting by name recognition, however she already has a half million followers.

Also, I'm not sure if she's on TikTok, but it is very popular and starts a lot of trends and sells lots of products.

TL;DR - I think Josie is making money now, but I believe her time is running out and all the Bates sisters will soon be very old news.

Please let it be sooner than later!!!

I think most of the Bateses are narcissists who need attention and accolades. Look at Josie's idiot parents. The possible exceptions are Michael(a) and one or two brothers -- NOT Zach, Lawson, or Ferret.

Oh, I agree, but I think Josie is much closer to being a clinical narcissist than most of the others.

I don’t know if she’s a narcissist but she’s certainly starved for attention.  Some of the clothes she wears… She might as well be naked because they leave absolutely nothing to the imagination.  And I’m not a prude!

While I think most folks are somewhere in the middle as far as style, I see Josie and Joy Duggar as either end of typical 20 somethings. I think we all know folks who won't go to the mailbox without full make-up and a proper outfit, as well as folks who roll out of bed, throw their hair in ponytail, wash up, put on the nearest clothes and are off to the mall.

Shopping this afternoon in 80 degree weather I encountered a 20ish young man in flannel pajama bottoms.  I'd appreciate the wash up and actual clothes.

I wonder what Josie and Carlin look like when they are simply home with the kids and not trying to film anything.  I think their approach to the "broadcast" of their lives is a large part of it, too.

I have a feeling Josie doesn't want to be a sidewalk vendor, but she's got a storeroom full of crap she has to get rid of. Heatless curlers are like any other viral product. They peak and then the sheep move on. It's not something you buy over and over. I imagine she's also selling her overpriced hair accessories.

For the heck of it, I ordered the same style of brush Josie sells during the recent Amazon Prime days. I actually got a better quality one too, with real boar bristles. I used it once and absolutely hated it. It flattened the top of my hair while making my length frizzy and static-y. It got returned immediately.

Sorry, am I missing something? It’s a camp shirt (you can see the front in other photos Josie posted). The shorts are not a colour I would pick but they seem ok. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I've just never known anyone to go camping in a short sleeve oxford, never mind fish in one. I like Kelton's shorts, but again, around here anyway, those shorts would not be considered camping/fishing shorts.

They are here. It's a camp shirt, not an oxford -- not very different from a T-shirt.

LL Bean makes actual camp shirts, which do look like short sleeved dress shirts for exactly this purpose. The fabric is designed to provide sun protection and also wicks sweat and moisture away from the body.

Not all of them. I have a Bean camp shirt (yay, petite sizes) that is made of regular fabric. I like it because it's a little neater than an ordinary T-shirt. It can also pass for work attire.

Topic: How old was Josie when she graduated from cosmetology school?

From Wikipedia:

A camp shirt, variously known as a cabin shirt, Cuban collar shirt, cabana shirt,[1] and lounge shirt, is a loose, straight-cut, woven, short-sleeved button-front shirt or blouse with a simple placket front opening and a "camp collar" - a one-piece collar (no band collar) that can be worn open and spread or closed at the neck with a button and loop.[2] It usually has a straight hemmed bottom falling at hip level, not intended to be tucked into trousers.[3]

While camp shirts are generally made from plain, single-color fabrics, variants include duo-tone bowling shirts and print patterned aloha shirts.

And now, on to the shorts. On my screen they appear to be none other than "Nantucket Red". Visit Nantucket and that color is ubiquitous amongst the upscale vacationers.

Exactly. That's exactly the image I had, which is why I found him fishing in that outfit ridiculous. Fishing off the side of a sailboat maybe, but not in a little stream at a campsite.

So Josie & Kelton headed to Vermont to do the perfect fall IG photoshoot - ahem excuse me - for an anniversary vacation. It is peak leaf season now in northern Vermont so it should be picture perfect for them. Cue Carlin & Evan running to New England next yr - unless they leave within days they'll probably miss the peak for this year . . . .

Upcoming. But a Stew family vacation is typically a cabin in Tenn. somewhere. Not exactly the same as the Balkas jetting off to Europe for anniversary #5 and New England for #6. The Stews must be . . . well . . .stewing.

They're really gonna be stewing when Josie and Kelton break ground on those five acres. The Balka spread will make the Stewarts' Frankenyard look even tackier than it does on its' own.

They needed yet another beach vacation in October? 🤦‍♀️

Hey, at least the family breadwinner got to join in this time, unlike the Disney vacation.

I noticed Carlin tagged a restaurant they stopped at and it's location was southwest Georgia, so yep, it looks like they were definitely headed to Florida. If I'm not mistaken, Milton is supposed to hit the west coast on Thursday. Great timing. 🫣

What? Are they insane?

No, just stupid. You'd have to be stupid to ignore the (justifiably) nonstop media coverage of a massive natural disaster.

I had a thought that either the Tesla was repossessed, or Dumb and Dumber voluntary surrendered it because they couldn't make the payments.

If the hurricane turns, it looks like it will go more south. So they're pretty safe if they go to Destin, a repeat vacation spot for them.

Even so, if Destin is predicted to be relatively safe from the storm, presumably many of those who need to evacuate will be heading there to find a place to stay until they can return home.  That's going to make for a shortage of stuff like Air Bn'B's, hotel space, groceries, and seating at restaurants.  Staying as far away from the disaster zone is not only smart, it is the kind thing to do for the people who live there.

Yes, it looks like both Layla and Zade made this trip.  They would've been bored at Disney World, I'm sure.
