  1. Okay, this is getting even better-I just read on Soap Dirt and Screen Rant (yes, I know that these are not the most reliable sites...) that it isn't Chris' ex who is pregnant, but the woman with whom Chris cheated on his ex and led to their break-up. AND, the women is a cousin of his ex. AND there is speculation that the ex will show up this season (I can't copy on this device, so I hope that writing the site names counts as identifying the source).
  2. So, after taking six weeks off, Zoey still has personal days? I know I shouldn't view this through my own perspective, but having both my mom and dad die (different years) and having only five days bereavement leave, this leaves me bewildered and a bit bitter (sigh). I think the show is getting awfully close to stereotyping the age demographics. The programmers going to Hard Knock Life because their supervisors expect them to work during work hours, Max being insulted and numb because his father would like him to be a part of the family business (and even stated they could use someone for tech/IT), Max being insulted because his father didn't fully believe in the business even though he was willing to fund the restbar, neighbor guy telling Zoey not to worry about consequences (while he is living at his parents because, you know, he's not worried about a career), and other attitudes from this season all seem to feed into an unwillingness to work or face challenges-everything should be handed to people while they are being told what special snowflakes they are.
  3. Didn't Katie give Matt the Bachelor Handshake? If so, that may be the sole qualifying requirement to be the Bachelorette...
  4. So Chris received devastating and surprising news that having sex without protection/birth control has led to a pregnancy? Is he also devastated and surprised that if you don't water your plants they die? I don't understand how he has developed his world view that he is the mostest handsome and successful person to ever grace our t.v.s and that everyone should drop what they are doing to support him through the consequences of the very decisions that he has made. I laughed a bit at the tantrum he threw because everyone was being supportive of Paige and not of him. Well, yeah, you made some horrible decisions that have consequences and are subjecting your new wife to them. Love Virginia's question and I was wondering the same thing. And no, you don't get to share this kind of news and then demand that everyone not talk about it. I did think the rest of the group tried to move the conversation on in order to be considerate of Chris and Paige, but he obviously wanted to be the focus of their attention. And, as much as this is a horrible situation for Paige, just wait until she finds out everything else is a lie (no, he's not financially wealthy). It was very telling when both Chris and Paige mentioned things that "trigger" him (multiple references throughout the show). The reality is that Chris creates his own drama and crises and then gets "triggered" by those same actions which then justifies his having a tantrum which just creates more drama and crises.
  5. I guess I'm the only one who thought that the adults all spend waaaaayyyy too much time together when they all go watch two of their friends play tennis.
  6. I couldn't get over how the housekeeper had the Duke talk to Moses rather than Eliza who is the mistress of that home and the employer of the housekeeper. If Eliza wants to be angry at someone, maybe she should start there. I, too, didn't like that Eliza punched the police officer-a full on punch rather than a less confrontational response. I guess she expects the Duke to continually bail her out/help her out with legal issues.
  7. I think they have to have "big" cases now because they need rewards/pay-offs to keep Robin's Nest operating (sarcasm).
  8. I don't find her interesting, but maybe she'll end up being a good Bachelorette. Don't know who I would prefer though.
  9. I was just cringing and fast-forwarding during the massage "prank." Hopefully, Tyler was in on it, otherwise it just shows what a good sport he is in going along with things. He must have known that something was going on with that weird massage and that the producers were behind it (and it may have even reinforced his decision to not be the Bachelor). However, I thought less of both Matt and Katie for going along with it-and they both acted like it was the best thing ever. What? When they showed Tyler and Matt together, it really made me realize how much better this season would be if Tyler was the Bachelor. As a poster noted above, Matt seems more like the side-kick than the star. And, as another poster noted above, I would have loved to see the women's reactions to Tyler walking by or being a part of the bowling date. I really hate it when the losing side gets to go to the after party when it was the promised reward for the winning side. Although there were no injuries and the bowling date looked fun, what's the point of trying to win? I didn't watch Colton's season (I didn't like him during his previous two appearances), I did follow this board, so knew about a contestant who was claiming to never have been kissed. Wowsa, does she seem like she is trying too hard. I'm so glad that Matt gave it away that he knew her. And, if Matt gives her a rose, I would love to see all of the other women leave of their own accord. That would be amazing and really "save" this season. Anyway, not impressed with her nor did I find her quarantine scenes fun or interesting. As for the women complaining about not getting a one-on-one or getting time alone with Matt, they should be getting the clear hints that he is sending to them.
  10. On the case of the plaintiff emptying out a savings account and sending it to the defendant, the plaintiff told a long (boring) story about her husband being mean to her and then taking their daughter to Florida. Hmmm, if she's so concerned about the money for the daughter, why did she take it when the daughter is with the father? Also, just because she said she was the only one contributing to the account. And, JM just accepted her statements as true (JM even made a critical remark about the husband). Later, JM read a text that the plaintiff wrote which stated she had already emptied out the joint account. Why does JM just accept all of this? Yes, the defendant was scamming the plaintiff, but the plaintiff's hands weren't "clean" (IMO) as she was taking all of the joint money which left nothing for her husband who had the daughter. And then the plaintiff was rewarded with an extra $1000 (because JM didn't like that the defendant was taking money from a special needs child which is exactly what the plaintiff had done, as her husband had the daughter with him).
  11. Barbara often insults the presenters (going all the way to the first/second season when two guys presented a bbq rub and she told one of them he looked like a pig and should wear a pig costume). I am often amazed at the rude/sexist comments she makes and yet she stays on the show.
  12. (small voice): regarding a book being published in 1945-just because something was published in 1945 does not inherently make it racist. That was quite a wide brush they used in making that "joke."
  13. So, they brought Jen back just to have her babysit while the parents are there? As much as I used to like this show, maybe they should not have come back if they could not get the ABC cast together (i.e. Real Mandy and Eve). The substitutes just don't work (NuMandy and Jen)-they both seem too forced. With production delays due to covid, they could have really worked on the scripts and make sure that the series went out strong. Instead it feels like it is just limping along. And, like the above poster, I watch the reruns as I enjoyed the earlier version of this show. However, I will continue to watch until the end (it is just so hard for me to give up on a show that I have watched for multiple seasons even though I want to give up...).
  14. I am so glad that Drew got his condition medically addressed. I'll admit that I judged him and thought he was trying to find a way out of the competition, and I apologize for that judgement. The info also leads me to really like and appreciate Peter for caring enough to say something and try to help Drew. So, hats off to Drew and Peter (AND the medic who had him go to the hospital-ICU is not a joke, so it was serious). It also makes me a bit mad that the editors/producers knew why he had lost weight and therefore his pants were falling down and yet they still chose to include that embarrassing scene in the episode.
  15. The drink cup really resonated with me as I have known people who have had their drinks spiked. Hopefully they will not make a "guarantee" that one's drink will not be spiked (as noted above there are ways around it), but it is a huge step forward and as also noted above, sororities and/or colleges should just hand them out (although this is not a college only issue). I could not believe the suction hook presenters tried to negotiate lower with Daymond-he should have asked for 50% because of their low sales and the hard road ahead. However, I think they will make this work. Rule Breaker is trying to break in an already crowded space. And, how nice to be able to invest over $1 million of her own money and have an equity line of which she has already borrowed $600,000. She may view this as more of a hobby as it appears she continues to be willing to throw more money at it (I apologize for the bitter tone). Ski wax? I am not necessarily a fan of Lindsey Vonn so did not understand Daymond's intent of offering her 10% for an endorsement. I enjoyed learning about the role of ski wax and think the product should do well. But, again, for the actual sales that he had it seemed way over-valued to me.
  16. I am glad that Peter left rather than stick it out as he just seemed so unhappy. And, it didn't help that Amber started giving him service notes while at the spa. Amber seems like she would be difficult to work with as she thinks her way is the best. She is making me agree with Marc (!) in that three tacos were too much on the plate and I thought they would get dinged for it. Her "I always plate odd numbers" was jut a bit too much. Okay, that is the only time that I will ever agree or support Marc as I think he is horrible. Too much ego when he is not as great of a chef as he believes (well, I guess that applies to all of them). Kori has never learned that while on a reality t.v. show, one never assures the audience that is no way they will lose, because that automatically means that one is going to lose. I thought the women should have been penalized when one of them threw the duck into the pen rather than walk it in. I really loved Cody's attitude about being on the punishment team and it's very clear that he loves animals. Therefore, he is A-OK with me. Interesting how they consistently show that Lauren doesn't do much-even Gordon mentioned it during service. She should be out very soon. What? No pseudo-celebrities at the VIP tables? The food service actually well pretty well.
  17. As a Christian, I get very tired of people making their own horrible decisions (free will) and then blaming God for them. I think this is what Paige is doing and I would rather she 'own up' and admit that she just wanted to be married so signed up for this show/"social experiment" rather than continue with "God ordained this marriage." The other thing is accepting what someone says while their actions say otherwise. Paige is clinging to "Chris is a God-fearing man" while his actions show that he does what he wants while mouthing words that do not necessarily manifest themselves in his life. I did not think it possible for me to like Chris less than I did after last week's episode, but I was wrong. I am irate at the "experts" and at Dr. Pepper stating on unfiltered that she still believed that Chris was a catch. Chris is so very self-centered that everything is about him and his feelings while he care not one iota about Paige and her feelings. His double standard is also way out there for all to see. Chris has joined that rarified elite group that Luke and Amber's husband created (the I am not attracted to my wife but will have sex with her club). I hope that all of the investors in his Subway franchise start to realize just whom they invested in and realize that there are people out there who would really work hard and be grateful for such an investment. Jacob's humor is starting to come out and while I like his type of humor, I have doubts that Haley does. The way that Virginia talks about how drinking will always be a part of her life really does concern me. However, if she feels loved and accepted by Eric, maybe she will start becoming less dependent on alcohol to make her feel secure. And finally (at least for this post), good job "experts" (this is written while dripped many times in the sarcasm sauce): Eric wants children, Virginia does not Ryan is religious while Clara rejects "organized" religion Chris' engagement was only ended about 2-3 months prior to the weddings And these are just the types of matches that have recurred throughout the series. Just last season was the mismatch with Olivia (no children) and Brett (children) which was the basis of their mutual loathing. When will the producers/"experts" realize that we all can see the mis-matches of the most fundamental values people hold.
  18. This show says a lot about politics that may or may not be intentional. Helmet idea? An example of something that "sounds good" so the policy is moved forward without a long-term study as otherwise someone may have realized the potential lice issue. Bad policy? An example of diverting the public's attention by staging something else that will draw the media and attention (the "wag the dog" theory). I just want to be entertained. Oh, and I want to be entertained without someone being humiliated by a ball to the crotch.
  19. Maybe Olivia would even consider having a child...
  20. In the landlord/tenant case summarized above I was really hoping that JM would award something to the defendant as this was yet another sterling example of what is illegal for landlords to do to force a tenant out. JM tells these landlords that what they did was wrong, but there aren't any consequences (or very many) for them. This landlord certainly tried to change her demeanor after getting called out about her attitude. I loved it when JM said "you do know that I can see you when you're rolling your eyes at me..."
  21. In my opinion, Carly is trying to "start" talk about herself to get producers' attention. She would jump at the chance in a heartbeat (IMO). I think many former participants are trying to ramp up the "talk" about themselves.
  22. Once Jovi talked about Yara previously lying about a pregnancy I understood why he initially didn't believe her and wanted a test. When he said that, she did not deny it, just denied how long it was before she told him she was "joking." I have a feeling she manipulates quite a bit; yet, here we are with someone who believes he is being lied to but moving forward in a relationship with that person. Also noticed that when Yara was taking the tests, her hand no longer had henna on it. Natalie acting all crushed and telling us that she can't take criticism is just rich coming from someone who constantly criticizes everything her "love" does, eats, thinks, etc. It was quite jarring when she not only hugged a tree but started skipping while they were out. I think she thought she needed to show us how fun and cute she is. Rebecca loves playing the "victim" hence allowing her family and friends to be rude to Zied after which SHE gets to have all of the attention instead of the person who was actually insulted (Zied). My motto which I have pretty faithfully followed: fast forward when Tarek and Hazel are on. The people I feel sorry for after this episode? The henna artist and the people sitting at the bar behind Brandon's parents when they started getting angry, weepy, loud, and manipulative.
  23. Today was the first time in months that I watched any of her show, and it was all about her, about how playing Wendy will make the actress famous, and about a guy who sent in a video to date Wendy. Waaaaay too Wendy focused. I do read the comments of you brave Wendy watchers, and I sincerely thank you for watching and summarizing for me!
  24. This season continues to be a disappointment for me. I get the pathos of firing George, but where was that pathos for the guy who had worked there for years and scored the winning spike in the company volleyball game? And, coming in with her hangover, I would expect Zoey to be the one to get fired. The timeline is a bit confusing, but I cannot imagine anyone who knew about Mitch's death to ask out his widow only 3-4 months after his death. And the date to Big Sur/Ventana? Totally romantic. Also, isn't the meditation room supposed to be for meditation and not long-winded talks/discussions?
  25. They must already know the one or two women they want for season 17. I have no inkling who it would be amongst these women. Perhaps they are going with a retread? A few former Bachelors seem to be upping their media presence, so who knows?
