  1. I'm loathe to defend Kyle, but that was one ridiculous argument Dorit and the others were making. "Admit it, you like Teddi the best!" I don't believe for one second they'd let it go if she'd concurred. What does Garcelle even care? She's clearly not friends with any of these women (maybe friendly coworkers with Denise and Lisa). And the harping on "couples counseling" was bizarre. So if any of the two women have lunch with just the two of them, is it a date? If two of them are at a spa, are they having a couples massage? Dorit (and Erika with her "weird" remark) seem to be heavily implying that there's more than friendship going on. I can kinda sorta see why Kyle's reacting the way she is, even though she shouldn't since by Lisa's own admission it's the reaction they're looking for. That said, Kyle's retort to Erika was a low blow, and I was impressed that Erika's response was "that's so stupid and incorrect that I can't even be mad at it." Frankly it's how Kyle should have been responding to Dorit's "Kyle and Teddi sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G" jabs. Dorit is clearly envious that Kyle had a backup BFF after LVP, while Dorit is stuck with being Rinna's attack dog. It's ironic, considering Dorit's first role on the show was to be LVP's attack dog against Eileen and Rinna ("it was unfair of Eileen not to tell LVP at the reunion that her mother had just died." "Don't you think Rinna's behavior is.... induced?" etc.). Teddi seems over it all at this point, and I don't blame her. I think she's wishing her pregnancy were a couple months further along so she wouldn't have to bother with these assholes. Kyle is latching onto Sutton since Teddi's going to be out of commission soon. I can't believe there's been so much time spent on Real Housewives on Beverly Hills talking about a Buca Di Beppo. And according to her "business partner" she hasn't done shit with it yet! Time to take Dorit's diamond if all she has to offer is talking about (a small part of) a restaurant remodel and making snide digs at the other women on Lisa Rinna's behalf.
  2. Ugh, Johnny Devenanzio is going to last until the finale, isn't he?
  3. I suspected since Episode 1 that Kevin’s winning, and the preview showing Padma in tears announcing the winner sealed it for me. I can’t see anyone else eliciting that emotional a response from Padma but the guy who survived cancer, at a time when Fatima was likely on the forefront of her mind.
  4. I thought some gears were starting to turn amongst Kyle, Dorit and Erika when Teddi brought up that she wasn't feeling weird about the text invitations until Lisa got into her head in the car, but not sure anythings going to come of it. I chuckled at Erika's : "Gee, I thought we were at Wild Things' house."
  5. I know this show came first but they should have just gone the sitcom route like Big Show did, since every second seems straight out of a script. Like not just the zany situations but the actual lines uttered seem phony and rehearsed. Especially Marjo. I keep trying but this isn’t working for me as a “reality show” since other than their names and Maryse being pregnant I don’t think there’s a single real thing about the show, which is kind of ironic considering how Mike got his start. And I thought the Bellas’ shows were contrived!
  6. Teddi seems so socially awkward. I can definitely relate, but then I'm not on a TV show about rich people's social lives. Lisa was stirring the pot with her "advise" to Teddi about being direct about the invite. Which is partiularly shitty since she'd just learned that Teddi had reached out to Amelia after her post. PK and Dorit were the sorriest attempt at damage control I think I've ever seen. I hope Producer keeps hounding them in talking heads all season long.
  7. I can’t stand Malarkey, am not entertained by him in the slightest, and am annoyed that he keeps skirting by on the bottom. And he was kind of a dick to his wife which leads me to be,I’ve it’s not just a TV persona. i think this episode was the nicest Padma has been to Stephanie all season, which isn’t saying much. Sad to see Jen go early again. Doesn’t seem she’ll ever get back the mojo from her first season.
  8. Oh FFS... Thawne again? Eddie’s self sacrifice has got to officially be the most pointless death in television history
  9. I've got a hunch Victoria knew exactly what she was doing with that exchange. I just don't buy her constant "what is zis word mean?"
  10. I'm not sure that the Academy has an issue with Netflix. 2 of 9 best picture nominees is pretty impressive, and I can't think of a single award I'd have given to The Irishman so to me it wasn't snubbed. And JMO but I thought Roma was slow as hell so I'm fine with it not winning last year, though I disliked Green Book as well. To me the big grievance is between the theaters and Netflix. I'm not sure if it's because AMC, Regal, etc. refuse to show Netflix films at all or if it's because Netflix insists on having their movies available on the app at the same time as any theatrical runs, but IMO if a movie's going to be tossed in a couple of ArcLight screens for a week but only available to 95% of the population at home, then I'd rather see them in the Emmys in the made for TV category. Quality aside, not exactly sure why Birdbox is an "Emmy movie" but Marriage Story is an "Oscar movie" since I was only ever able to see either one from home. If Netflix is insisting that their films be available the day they are released in theaters, then I kind of think it's BS to campaign for the Oscars over the Emmys unless the latter eliminates the movie category altogether. It's different to me than the standard trick studios do of sneaking into a few LA/NYC screens in December but holding back on wider release, because at least they make their way into theaters eventually. Unless the theaters have been showing Irishman and Marriage Story and I've just been oblivious? I know AMC refused to include them in the Best Picture Showcase, just as they did with Roma last year.
  11. Re: the Hollywood Reporter (hopefully has-been) actress: " I loved [The Two Popes'] Jonathan Pryce, but I don't know if I want to give it to the pope." "I liked 1917 and Sam Mendes' direction, but I thought Quentin did a great job, and I want an American director to win. The Oscars is an American thing; English things win BAFTAs and the French vote for the French, and Quentin Tarantino should be honored for a great American movie." " [...] because it's a beautiful story about saving the environment that is told so simply, without hammering us over the head like Greta whatever" "I won't vote for [Harriet's] Cynthia Erivo because I think that they should have gotten an American actress to play Harriet [Tubman], not an English actress." Holy crap, Anonymous Actress is one hell of a heinous, xenophobic asshole. "Stay in your lane, foreign people! Leave Oscars for the 'muricans!" While it totally won't, I kinda hope OUaTiH gets shut out, just out of spite. Also, she really really really hated Marriage Story. I like to think it's because it reminds her of her many failed marriages. She just seems the type to be a 3+ times divorcee.
  12. I liked that JJ appeared to be genuinely good in the new universe and hate that he apparently got mindfucked into being evil again.
  13. DId the reference to Captain America mean that the MCU is a thing in the Berlantiverse as well, or is there really a Captain America and Crisis actually merged Marvel and DC? (joking... mostly) I'm intrigued by "good" Beth, but I'm convinced now that she's a Mouse/Alice trick. I for one would be bummed if that's the case, because IMO Alice isn't sustainable after killing her stepmother, even though all the other shows have played their villains out (Eobard, Malcolm, Damien)
  14. Yeah these distribution deals are getting messier. So Europe gets The Studio Ghibli films on Netflix, but North America will see them on HBO Max. Meanwhile, some of the Disney movies are still on Netflix rather than Disney+, or are going to be moving to Netflix in several years. Confusing.
  15. Definitely. They really need to keep him out of Callie's orbit, he's so much more tolerable when he's literally anybody else. And hopefully they stop hooking up with guys who are villainized so as to be deemed inferior to Callie. So yeah, less relationship drama, more career focus please Gael. Jamie's great, but the actor still being billed as "guest star" status doesn't bode well. Which probably means I'll be back to hating Gael soon. Seems ridiculous that they'd place Mariana back in a team with Asshat and Jr. Asshat but Mariana makes it very hard to sympathize with her. Alice! Stop being so messy!
  16. I think his body count with that single act surpassed Vader's decades-long run. Which is why everytime I see someone post "Ben deserved better" on Facebook/Instagram (it's pretty much spam at this point), I want to scream. How he reached woobie status is mystifying to me and kind of makes me wish, talented as Adam Driver is, that they'd kept the mask on Kylo Ren for much longer than they did.
  17. Totally agree. It seemed to me like there was a period of time where the default seemed to be that the director of the best picture won the Oscar. Looked it up and a split's only happened 26 of 91 years, but that corellation does seem to have eroded in recent years thankfully. I was worried that Once Upon a Time... emerging as a favorite would mean Tarantino's a shoo-in, and while I liked the film more than most of his, I'd put him as 3rd maybe 4th of the nominees this year (and would have traded Gerwig and Waititi for Scorcese and Philips in which case he'd be last on my list).
  18. I didn't realize that, glad that the two don't go hand-in-hand so much nowadays. I hated the argument "did the film direct itself?" that would arise when BP and BD went to different movies. I guess it's been a while now, but Cooper for the King's Speech stands out as a WTF moment to me. I definitely hope Tarantino doesn't win for OUaTiH (because I do think is too enticing for the old school voters to deny BP to). I'd rather see Mendes or Bong Joon Ho as well.
  19. Ok, funny enough, the past few times I've been, one of the Charmin bears does EXACTLY THAT.
  20. I wonder if the Fox buyout and getting into streaming business has gotten some members pissed towards Disney? Either that or they hated the ending as much as I did. :) Granted the SAGs have yet to be awarded but I think the acting categories are pretty much a lock at this point: Phoenix, Zellweger, Pitt, and Dern. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will get Best Picture, but Director might be the big upset of the night.* Tarantino's polarizing, and it was pretty classless of him (knowing there was a decent shot he's be back on stage later on) to leap to the stage at the Critics Choice Awards to accept Pitt's award rather than the standard "we accept the award on [ ]'s behalf." * I know Mendes is picking up some steam, but usually the Academy seems to like to reward the director along with the best picture.
  21. Movies about Hollywood and the industry tend to rake in awards. I suspect the homages in The Shape of Water is what put it over the edge a couple years ago. Plus OUaTiH "undoes" one of the darker moments in Hollywood history. It'll be interesting to see how it stacks up against the other frontrunners in the upcoming awards once comedies and dramas are combined but I think it's probably the favorite at this point.
  22. I’m going to miss Tyler and how he wasn’t here for Sergio’s bullshit.
  23. "I saw you in a podcast... oh, sorry I meant news articl-- "I DON'T DO PODCASTS!" 5 minutes later... "I have a podcast coming up with Westwood One..."
  24. I can't believe they're even considering keeping Vicki on after that hissy fit, couple with the failed lawsuit. But the fact that she got her seat next to Andy demonstrates that she's going to get her way in the end. Every time she harps about founding the show or whatever, I just think Bitch, you were a solid #4 of 5 women on the cast. Shane Keough and Slade Smiley got more screentime than you Season 1. Tamra was clearly pissed when Gina and Emily hugged it out. Sorry Gina, I think you just lost your Amiga status.
  25. Shane really is the fucking worst. I was shocked that he actually accompanied Emily to the party, must have been contractually obligated. Guess Steve Lodge decided to dump the "Chavez" from his name when it failed to win him a city council seat, LOL! I was annoyed the show ended with Viki and Steve getting into the car. I was almost expecting a "To Be Continued..." At least they didn't give her a status update. Still not seeing the point in demoting her as she was in almost every episode and was center of most of the drama. Can't believe Shannon brought as a date the guy who replaced Slade on the show way back in the day. Wow. Although thinking of Duff and Slade made me realize that had Slade and Jo not been such a toxic couple, they might not have broken up when they did, which means Jo might not have left after Season 2, which means they might not have needed to bring in Tamra as Jo's replacement, which means we could have been spared Tamra ALL THIS TIME. Another reason to hate Slade.
