  1. I agree that Jack Black's Bethenny was off this go-round. "Like, OMG you guys! Hi-yeeeeeeeeeee!" Didn't mesh with her growth at all. He acted even more valley girl than at the beginning of the first movie, I thought. I wish we'd gotten a little more time with Alex and Bethenny returning to the game. How did Bethenny react to being a horse? How long did it take Alex to figure it out? How awkward was it to decide he should ride horseback? And did they have to progress through the earlier levels to catch up to the others? Also, wish there'd been a bit more time seeing Alex react to being back in Jumanji. For him, decades have passed; might explain why he failed twice at the puzzle to free Milo -- would make sense if he's a lot rustier than the others. It was fun seeing the switch up in characters. Agree that Awkwafina did a better DeVito impersonation. Actually I thought Dwayne Johnson's accent seemed too off, but maybe that was part of the gag. Looks like the next sequel might be getting back to the premise of the original movie. If so I hope the kids will get to encounter their avatars in real life. I'm curious what the avatars' personalities are actually supposed to be like. I wonder if Spencer's mom and the HVAC guy got sucked into the game
  2. The Tres Amigas puzzlement over Hemingway was painful to watch. So much for that "University of Successful Children" education, Shannon. Funny how the producer was trying to trap Kelly with the question about her favorite Hemingway novel, and she nearly got it right. I should find Emily's continual age jabs at them annoying, but since it's directed at them, I don't. Emily's the only one I have any hope for, at this point. Hopefully she gets some actual therapy. The reunion's going to be a bit jarring, given the total 180s in Kelly's and Gina's relationships since the season was filmed.
  3. I really hope they didn't kill off Ray (and presumably Leo) on Earth-X, but it sure looks like they did. The Arrowverse and CW in general seem to be doing a decent job of lesbian representation lately, not so much on the gay male side though. Does Harbinger have a role aside from emotionless expositions and warping a select few people across the multiverse? Seems she and Monitor could have done a better job recruiting for their first "last stand" on Earth-38. Cisco's powerless now, but why not bring over Killer Frost, or Laurel, or better yet why only Sara and Atom from Legends when I'm pretty sure Nora and Constantine know a few spells that could have been a big help dispatching those wraiths or whatever they were. Highly doubt they'd kill off Oliver without Diggle or William around. I know Mia's the favored child (by the showrunners at least), but still.
  4. Oh good, so I didn't mishear that? What the fuck, Barry? You let yourself get turned in order to mindfuck Ramsey back? It's nice you had faith that Iris and Cisco would figure out what to do and interpret coded messages, but that's one hell of a gamble you played, seeing how you injured your wife and helped zombify who knows how many innocent civilians in the interim. Did he not realize what it'd mean to be infected? If he willingly got infected just to play Ramsey, that's even more reckless than Flashpoint.
  5. Last post disappeared so apologies if I wind up with a doublepost... I loved Emily's and Gina's exasperated "noooo...." on the floating bar when Kelly went back to her good ol' "fat pig" insult. Kelly just can't ever take the high road. Oh, and Shannon knew exactly what she was doing when she decided to beat Gina to the punch to tell Kelly about Vicki's new text buddy. Vicki, who's too prudish for drag bars, apparently has no issue with guzzling beer straight from the tap. Disgusting. And to put it in a way Vicki will understand: [doublespeed] YES VICKI YOU ARE INDEED A CONMAN! YOU PERPETUATED A LIE ABOUT CANCER! THEN TRIED TO START A FAKE CHARITY TO KILL ALL CANCER WHICH WAS JUST A WAY TO GET PEOPLE TO SIGNUP SO YOU COULD TRY TO SELL THEM INSURANCE! SO YES YOU ARE A LYING LIAR WHO LIES! NOW STOP SHRIEKING YOU EVIL BANSHEE! [/doublespeed] I have no idea how Tamra and Shannon can continue to put up wth her lies when they justifiably iced her out for a year. Actually I do have an idea: Andy Cohen threatened to fire their asses unless they kiss and make up. I had no idea hurting your leg meant you were no longer able to sell insurance. Does Vicki go door to door or something like the Avon lady?
  6. Vicki got to go on the vacation? What the hell was the point of the demotion this season when we haven't seen her any less? And because Kelly has no chill, she's solidified the Tres Amigas for good, so I fear there's no way Vicki isn't back next year. Worse than Gina asking "What's a Charo?" was Tamra replying a cinnamon dessert. Oy.
  7. Does the writer of this episode have an axe to grind with Millenials? References to Snowflake Generation and Selfie Generation. Weird, and kinda petty. Kara showed incredible restraint not rolling her eyes during Lena's "not a villain" villain monologue. Sure Lena, they were all giggling for months behind your back about what an idiot you are. And even if they were (and deep down you know they weren't) that totally justifies using people as lab rats in your quest to mindfuck all of humanity. Lena going dark was inevitable (Luthors are like the Dimera family on Days of our Lives, they all are going to turn at some point, some more permanently than others), but they sure wrote a lame bullshit reason for the heel turn. Oh and Lena? Trapping a Kryptonian in a Kryptonite cage is totally a villain move. Just saying.
  8. Atta girl, Sandra. wow, Cloud 9 corporate really is the worst.
  9. Had car troubles over the weekend, so binged Season 1 which I'd never watched before. Wow! This show was night and day from its current incarnation! Definitely prefer the old format. Interesting that there was little interaction between the women until midway through the season. It was just as much about the families as the wives themselves. And despite the drama, the tone is fairly low-key. No shrieking hysterics. So refreshing. Vicki was actually somewhat likeable, although some warning signs were definitely there ("Called it! I called it!" when she heard about Jo and Slade ending their engagement. And stirring the pot between Lauri and Jo at the reunion). I also saw the first couple of season 2 eps and saw FAMILY VAN in all its glory. There you are, Vicki. Slade was almost likeable at times as well, though it was clear he took "stay at home mom" literally. And was definitely controlling. But he actually had career aspirations at one point -- crazy! And he kind of had a point about Jo. Liked Jo a little less than I thought I would. She clearly didn't have much interesting in being a stepmom, and was a bit of a brat in how she handled the breakup. Not that he was much better, especially the bit of pettiness with him taking the license plate off the car and her driving off anyways. Given how he turned out though, she dodged one hell of a bullet. LOTS of focus on the husbands and kids, especially Slade, and Shane Keough who was practically a full-time cast member. And speaking of the Keough's, Colton's the only one I'd tolerate for more than 5 seconds. But sheesh, Shane and Kara were something else. Jeana was pretty much checked out of dealing with their behavior. Felt awful watching Lauri's family, knowing what the future would hold. Back then, there was a modicum of hope for Josh, particularly with how he clearly adored his little sister. So sad how life unfolded for them. Kimberly was the one front and center holding the orange in the credits I think, but given the screentime it seemed like it should have been Shane and Slade there instead.
  10. If someone who looked like Betsey Johnson dressed like Rainbow Brite defiantly introduced herself as "Doctor Deb" I'd laugh in her face. That said, the woman with the mic was loony AF. Auditioning for next season perhaps?
  11. Just when I thought I’ve heard it all, now I’ve gotten to hear Shannon Beador shriek “I don’t want any snatch.” All this gutter of a season needs is a guest appearance by Brandi Glanville.
  12. Maybe he's jealous of the chemistry between her and Annalise. I'd really hoped we wouldn't have to hear Nate go on about his "pops" anymore. Those feds new exactly the right button to push with him... leaning towards him as the dead informant.
  13. Did Asher forget he's a cold-blooded killer? He has zero moral high ground with Gabriel.
  14. Nice of them to allow the extras to stand and talk alongside Margot Robbie!
  15. As if having to endure the people (without fail someone within three seats of me or diagonally in front of me) who absolutely can't handle not texting during a movie wasn't bad enough... apparently the newest iWatches have the face display always on, rather than just when you raise your wrist. Considering how distracting it already was when the display came on whenever the person sitting next to me raised their arm to eat popcorn, I can't imagine how infuriating it's going to be as the new models gain market share dealing with the constant peripheral light. Supposedly there's a "theater mode" that dims the light but considering how my eye immediately catches anytime someone starts texting, no matter how "dim" their setting is, I doubt it's going to prevent insufferable distractions in my case.
  16. If anyone (like me) was siding with Koracik in the triangle or with Bailey in the firings, the writers have made it clear that you're (we're) WRONG and will go around having all the other characters point out how awful they are just to hammer the point. Not that I'm surprised with this show. It has a history with this kind of BS, all the way back to "what Addison did was sooo much worse." I actually can't tell who they think we should favor in the Maggie/Jackson breakup as they're both pretty ridiculous at this point. Which is why I'm thinking reconciliation is happening once the writers tire of the Station 19 "crossover."
  17. Absolutely. Tamra's the puppet, and eeeeeveryone else is the schematics. ... Or something like that.
  18. I generally like Jackson, but what is it with all of his relationships ending in bitterness and resentment? I think Stephanie's the only ex he didn't look like he wanted to spit on and that's probably just because that breakup was 100% his fault. Makes me relieved that they never coupled him up with Meredith or Cristina which I used to totally be all for way back in the day. Random as they are, I actually like Meredith and DeLuca together. We're not getting another Jo/Alex wedding ceremony, are we? And last but not least -- STFU, Richard. You too Catherine.
  19. Kelly needs to go after this season. Brandi was considered a liability after tossing a drink in Eileen's face and slapping Lisa V. and what Kelly did to Shannon and Gina was worse than either of those incidents. But before she's tossed, hopefully she continues going after the "Tres Amigas." I was pleasantly surprised they flashed back to Shannon trying to ply Kelly with alcohol (and sneakily try to make it a double) in Ireland. Yeah, nothing but nice my ass. Unfortunately, I think Vicki's getting her orange back.
  20. Yep. Eileen's the one who wrote the note to LVP telling them of their move, so she got the brunt of it.
  21. Way too much Louie lately. Meanwhile Scrooge and Dewey in particular seem to have been sidelined.
  22. La La got way too easy a pass from Strahan on thinking Texas, etc. were cities. Also, she was giving a lot of attitude to the contestants that couldn't decipher her shitty clues. How is he supposed to know you're pointing at a mole when you don't have a mole? And she seemed legit ticked that he couldn't get it. Joel was mostly good, but he really blew the lucky 7 round with the one word names. Cinderella was the only Disney princess from Walt's era not to have a sleeping curse. That seemed to throw them both off the rest of the round.
  23. I don't think Nick's the chosen one because at this point I think GR knows Subha's track record on team challenges, so why put the chosen one in a position to fail? It just so happens Noah managed to fuck up more than anyone could have predicted. Luckily the judges could just ignore it and pretend using up all of the scallops is the ultimate sin. Pretty sure the blue team is our Final 3, with Noah sticking around as fodder. I don't think GR envisions Nick on a cookbook cover so he's probably a goner.

    S14.E04: Overwhelmed

"Is there anything likable about [Meredith]?" "Sure!.... She... has pretty eyes." Damn, ladies.
