  1. I enjoyed it - it will take a few episodes for the bugs to shake out. Never judge a series by its pilot. The dance at the beginning was unexpected; I wonder if they'll do a different dance every week? If not... that's bound to have a good background story.
  2. I was disappointed that we didn't hear more about Meri's release. I wonder how that works. Since they named the episode after it, you would think they would have included that in the episode.
  3. Kathy Bates discusses her weight loss over the past several years: https://people.com/kathy-bates-clarifies-ozempic-use-after-losing-100-lbs-exclusive-8725287 I didn't really realize she had lost so much weight; maybe it's how they're dressing her. Needless to say, she looks great!
  4. I liked both plot lines. The biker seemed likeable; I felt sorry for him. The young lady who likes the Three Stooges was certainly as rare as her heart issue. I have never understood slapstick humor. It was funny when one of the interns said they didn't know who the Three Stooges were.
  5. I think she looks younger now than she did when she made the speech!
  6. I stopped watching when they were in Las Vegas, then picked up again last season to watch the train wreck. I've watched the first couple episodes, but I'd like to see some progress in their lives, and I haven't seen anything new so far.
  7. I didn't watch this show when it originally aired; I watched it as a balm to the chaotic administration of #45. It's pretty amazing how well the show has held up. Every now I watch a couple episodes, and many of the plot lines still apply today.
  8. Boy, talk about "the long goodbye". This season is going to be tedious.
  9. I wonder if we'll see Holly again. I almost didn't recognize Patricia Heaton with her grey hair.
  10. I didn't like the promos for "Ghosts", but I love the show. I'm going to try "Brilliant Minds" with Zachary Quinto and "Matlock" with Kathy Bates, mainly because I like the leads.
  11. I liked the new Ghostbusters better than the original.
  12. Boy, that's the truth. I earlier mentioned I volunteer for Meals on Wheels; a daycare uses the same kitchen as we do and they use gallons and gallons of it.
  13. We taxpayers pay to transport kids to school and back; we pay for their books; we should pay for meals. As for the quality of the meal - it's hard to get kid to eat healthy foods, and it's hard to prepare healthy meals for a thousand kids. I volunteer for Meals On Wheels; we make 50-60 meals a day and it takes 2 people 3 hours, even when we use pre-made frozen stuff like chicken fingers.
  14. There is a Bonanza on-line fan "convention" all weekend this weekend: https://bonanzacononline.wixsite.com/mysite
  15. It really holds up well, doesn't it?
  16. Aww.... Vic Fontaine is but a holographic memory now 😩 James Darren, RIP https://variety.com/2024/film/news/james-darren-gidget-moondoggie-star-trek-1236127756/
  17. How do I see the house on Zillow?
  18. I couldn't agree more. I always fast forward through Fred's scenes.
  19. Jon will host a special live show Thursday night from the DNC: https://www.wets.org/all-things-considered/2024-08-21/jon-stewart-and-daily-show-at-the-dnc It's a 4 minute listen
  20. The comments on that tweet are hysterical! My favorite (so far): "We may get her a Gold. Don’t F with us. We have lawyers just waiting to bill some hours."
  21. Sports moments: 1. In Track & Field - that little look that Sha'Carri Richardson gave the other runners as she passed them in the 4x100. I know she was just checking to make sure she was ahead, but ... that LOOK! 2. Katie Ledecky winning by such a large margin that she was the only swimmer in the picture 3. Likewise, the US women in the 4x400 - that was incredible Non-sports moments: 1. The brigadier stick - so culturally appropriate. (That's the stick they banged against the floor at the start of events) 2. The bell at the track meet. Next stop: Notre Dame cathedral! 3. That cauldron!
  22. Funny timing - I am watching the evening broadcast while reading through the comments and read your comment while the orchestra is playing the French national anthem. It is a very pretty version but is putting me to sleep. I much prefer the rousing version sung in Rick's Place in "Casablanca".
  23. Watching the men's bronze medal game (Hungary v US): right now it's tied at 6, close game, and the announcer just mentioned that one of the players is getting married at the end of the month. I have NEVER heard anything like that in a men's game - it really threw me! Then he mentioned his fiance was in the stands watching and called her "the future Mrs (man's last name)" and I thought "why would he assume she's taking his name?" So they kinda cancelled each other out. 😆
  24. Thanks for confirming for me what she said! 😆 Honestly, the US team and announcers are acting like it was a runaway victory, not the razor thin win. I know, a win is a win, but they were damn lucky.
  25. Italy really brought their A game today for the women's gold medal match; they beat the US in 3 sets. So the US results are Bronze for the men and Silver for the women.
