Many if not most DVD players can be hacked. The region requirement is a software setting. This allows the manufacturers to sell in any country by just changing the chip setting. (And in Australia, they must by law be sold region free - at least 10 years ago this was the case.) Just google "DVD region hack codes". I hacked a Phillips DVD player - easy peasy.

DVDs in Canada and the USA are region 1, so they should work (assuming your "here" is the USA).

If we swap the genders - a 29 year old man having sex with a 17 year old girl - I think most of us would "blab".

I hate the Vanessa/Riley cheating plot arc. I don't care that they're legally married, they are cheating and it's not "sweet" or "romantic", it is disgusting. That said, I enjoyed Al's date a lot more than I thought I would. Cindy may be a bit crazy, but she handled Al's "situation" just right.

Georgie has always impressed me - he's a polite young man, even if he is a horndog. I understand why Mandy is furious. She's pregnant, doesn't have a lot of choices, and the father of her baby is too young to be much help (as much as Georgie thinks he can). She's still processing everything. EVERYONE is still processing everything, including Mary.

Netflix lost me at their last price hike. I was willing to keep it for the few shows they have that I watch, but not after the cost went up AGAIN. I might get it for a month when the next season of "The Crown" is out.

Dave is a veteran; I hope he starts working for the VA.

I'm glad it looks like things are going to work out for Morenike. I like how Bob got Chukwuemeka to get her that job by appealing to his "pharmacy oath". Morenike is a cute character and I hope to see more of her, especially with Olu and Tunde. The scenes at the end where they were talking to the gay neighbor were gold.

Someone in a prior thread mentioned the laugh track. Whoever runs that thing must be high; half the lines they laugh at are (probably) not even supposed to be funny. And the ones that ARE supposed to be funny... nope. I'm out.

I have been thinking that the "potato" is more a reference to vodka, which most Americans associate with Russia. I never think "boy, Russians must eat a lot of potatoes", but they do drink vodka, right?

Did you notice during the opening (when they announce the names of the guests and "featuring Jon Batiste") that Jon had a Grammy in his left hand? (I'm pretty sure it was added digitally.)

I hope he stays for a long time. Questlove has been with Jimmy Fallon forever, and he's in a similar situation, as an Oscar and Grammy winner. Maybe having a steady gig in a house band gives them the freedom to do more creative projects. 🤞

I liked the musical performance, but I wish they had showed the screen instead of the performers. I don't have a 60 inch TV and it was hard to read the names!

I think I heard someone mention that it might be August before the Olympic team medals are awarded! The Russians should be banned as a team, period. If any can PROVE they are clean, they should compete on a team like they have in the summer Olympics for athletes who don't have a home country. (And Eteri should be banned for causing injuries to her athletes as well as doping them. Bah.)

I'm ashamed to say at first I was hoping Loena would fall apart (because I wanted 2 Americans on the podium), but I must say at the end of her skate I had changed my mind; that was beautiful! I'm glad they changed the technical score box back to showing the base value and GOE.

I just remembered - when we were teenagers, we would get moonshine from a guy at the local funeral home. Maybe that's why I don't think they're creepy. 😄
