  1. I must check this out. I love eggs in all forms but am sometimes challenged when poaching and hard-boiling. (Bonus points for the Steel Magnolias reference!)
  2. @GreekGeek, you're right about the point of Ashley but it was definitely lost on me when I first read the book, which was when I was 12. I couldn't figure out what Scarlett saw in him.
  3. @Violet Impulse, I just finished Altamont too. I thought it was interesting (I didn't know about the Grateful Dead connection) but didn't really agree with his conclusion about the culpability of The Rolling Stones. I thought he laid too much on them when really it was a bunch of stuff that was badly planned/went wrong/bad decision. Plenty of blame to go around.
  4. Who says you have to choose? I have enough hate for both, plus some to spare.
  5. All I can focus on is how the pot holders hanging on the cupboards aren't level.
  6. I hate heavy wet snow. We got about 8 inches but the bottom 3 were completely waterlogged. That meant that the snowblower was completely ineffective so we had to shovel it. However, our neighbor's newish boyfriend had a little snowblower and helped us out, which was really nice.
  7. @Frozendiva, thanks! There are a few pricey skincare items I need so I'll wait until the sale to get them.
  8. I have no desire for dill in my tartar sauce, or anything else for that matter. Dill is the Devil's herb. I bought a box of eclairs from the frozen section a couple weeks ago but haven't tried them yet. I love eclairs and I'm afraid I will be disappointed.
  9. I love tricks like this. I used to make a Rachel Ray recipe for chicken paprikash made with ground chicken instead of chicken thighs. Quicker for weeknights, and very tasty. It was served over potato gnocchi instead of egg noodles. I'm going to have to find that recipe. Tonight it's green beans with a ham slice cooked low and slow and corn muffins.
  10. When does this magical 20% sale usually happen? I have several things in mind.....
  11. Get off my TV and I'll stop judging you. Otherwise, I'm Judgy McJudgerson.
  12. The Swedish meatballs didn't happen. I cleaned up the kitchen (okay, I washed a couple of glasses) and called it a day. Tonight was tortelloni in a light cream sauce with prosciutto, garlic, baby spinach and Parmesan.
  13. I bought a book called "Working for You is Killing Me." It was helpful. More helpful - my manager no longer being my manager.
  14. Satellite - Dave Matthews Band Best of My Love - The Eagles Best of My Love - The Emotions
  15. Would ass kissers be more appropriate than storm troopers? Topic - what is Jonathan's deal? Is he the son of someone wealthy? Also, like Kim, he should lay off the plastic surgery.
  16. I'm supposed to make Swedish meatballs, egg noodles and roasted Brussels sprouts but I don't feel like cooking. Maybe typing this out will spur me to get into the kitchen.
  17. Couples date night is for the poor married folks who don't get to spend a lot of time with their spouses because they are so busy working and raising kids. Since these people appear to spend 24/7 with each other and don't have real jobs, I fail to see why they need date night at all. Maybe it's so they can actually get to know the person they are yoked to for the rest of their lives, since we know that doesn't happen before they get married.
  18. That baby has the worst case of old man face that I have seen on an infant in a long time. He looks like Jonathan Winters in Mork and Mindy.
  19. I wonder if Derek and Jill see the irony of calling out someone on being too poor to have their own mud hut when they have to ask for donations to finance their own lifestyle. Oh wait, I don't wonder, they're too self-righteous to see the parallel. (Please note my correct use of their and they're. That's how you do it, SOS.)
  20. Khloe's shoulder are not that narrow and neither are her hips. Her mind, sure, but not the rest of her.
  21. Was it Joy who said she was looking forward to getting to know her fiance better? Honey, that's supposed to happen before you hitch your wagon to someone else.
  22. I don't think any of the Duggar boys would know how to deal with a woman who has some spirit and ambition beyond popping out as many kids as possible. Kendra's exactly what I would expect for any of them.
  23. Disco - and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
  24. Sweet fancy Moses, she sounds like she's 12 (no offense to 12 year olds). Certainly not ready for what comes after marriage.
