  1. If your library has them/can do a loan on them from another library, you could read them that way & be sure Faye won't profit (more than from the original purchase by the library, anyway).
  2. It's TRUE this time (confirmed on her Twitter & Facebook pages), about 9 hours after first being erroneously reported. Mob Wives star Big Ang has died of cancer at age 55. http://www.people.com/people/mobile/article/0,,20988164,00.html?xid=socialflow_twitter_peoplemag
  3. According to the episode guide on the S4 Wikipedia page for the show, Noah Emmerich isn't the only main cast member stepping behind the camera to direct an ep this season (Ep 5). Matthew Rhys is listed as the director of Ep 8 this coming season. I don't think we knew that already--at least most of us didn't. Here's the link to the S4 Wikipedia page. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Americans_(season_4)
  4. And the pre-S4 rebroadcast of S3 starts tonight on FX (very late Wednesday, February 17/very early Thursday, February 18)--apologies for the very late notice; maybe it'll at least help someone in the Mountain/Pacific time zones & westward. I just now saw the listings for the show. Anyway, tonight (Wednesday into Thursday) FX is showing EST Men & Baggage (the first 2 eps of S3) at 2:01AM & 3:02AM Eastern/1:01AM & 2:02AM Central, respectively. Check your local listings for the correct time (& channel number) from Mountain time westward. Next late Wednesday night/early Thursday Morning (February 25 on the calendar), FX will be showing the S3 eps Open House, Dimebag, Salang Pass, & Born Again from 1AM-5AM Eastern/Midnight-4AM Central. Check your local listings for the correct time (& channel number) from Mountain time westward.
  5. This was Tweeted after your linked report--at 9:52PM Eastern. The Tweeter says Big Ang's sister says she's NOT dead. https://twitter.com/naughtynicerob/status/700150920403939328
  6. I think the obit I linked to (or another I read, but didn't link to) said he hadn't acted since 2003. If so, maybe his lack of public visibility gave the perception that he'd already passed.
  7. And--in the same episode--there was a plastic bowling set in the closet, which Bill or somebody set up & Bill, Jen, & Will all were shown playing with it for awhile; so I was a little surprised Bill was acting like neither of the kids was familiar with bowling (but I'm in NO way trying to equate this to lying, or anything else negative, on the part of anyone in the Arnold-Klein family). Perhaps Bill legitimately forgot about that, or thought that Will played the toy version when he was too little to remember doing it.
  8. Bill, & Jen (Bill said she was working last night), always post Tweets during the show. It's kind of the Social Media version of when people involved with an individual episode of a series do a "commentary" on the background/filming of that ep in a DVD set for the show.
  9. Responding to the bolded. I believe The Tonight Show was the first late night talk show, yes. But Steve Allen was actually the first host of the show, from 1954-57. Johnny Carson was actually the show's third host, from 1962-1992 (Jack Paar was between Allen & Carson, from when Allen left in 1957 to when Carson started in 1962).
  10. I've heard the Eagles' KCH presentation was postponed until this year. They weren't removed from contention for the honor or from being a recipient. I think they even made a point of saying, in the ceremony from this past December (when the group was originally supposed to have been among the honorees), the Eagles' presentation was switched to (what was then) next year (now this year), because of Glenn Frey's then-illness, & they had Miranda Lambert (ex-Mrs. Blake Shelton) sing Desperado in their honor, even though nobody from the group was there.
  11. Unless he's changed networks, the last I knew Jeffrey Toobin was the Legal Analyst for CNN, not Faux (Fox) News--I'm pretty sure including during/going as far back as the OJ trial.
  12. Responding to the bolded. Courtney B. Vance is a veteran actor in TV, films, & the theatre. He played the DA in Law & Order: Criminal Intent for 5 seasons. He's also a Tony Award Winner. He's married to Oscar nominated (as Tina Turner in What's Love Got to Do with It?) actress & director Angela Bassett; they have 10 year-old boy/girl twins. Here's a link to his Wikipedia page. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Courtney_B._Vance
  13. An article posted to Entertainment Weekly's EW.com website earlier today attempts to explain why it's supposedly important to include the spawn of Robert Kardashian & Kris Jenner in this show. For what it's worth. http://www.ew.com/article/2016/02/16/defending-kardashians-kids-people-v-oj-simpson
  14. Character Actor George Gaynes Dies at 98. Famous for roles in Punky Brewster, the Police Academy franchise, Tootsie & General Hospital, among others. http://variety.com/2016/film/news/george-gaynes-dead-1201707777/
  15. From Variety: Why The West Wing's Supreme Court Battle Trumped Political Reality http://variety.com/2016/tv/columns/the-west-wing-supreme-court-antonin-scalia-aaron-sorkin-1201706539/
  16. From her Twitter feed, here's an explanation of at least some of the stuff that marred the Adele performance. https://mobile.twitter.com/Adele/status/699457178717958145?p=v
  17. Responding to the bolded. It's not necessarily all that weird if you know the cutoff date for eligibility for the Grammys is September 30th of the previous calendar year (so, for tonight/last night's Grammys, all the nominees had to be released/on product released between October 1, 2014 & September 30, 2015). The "year before they got nominations" song performances were probably to promote that they had new CDs out that were ineligible for that year's Grammys.
  18. That's Little Big Town. And the song, Girl Crush, was actually #1 on Billboard's Country Singles Chart for 13 weeks. It's 1 of the group's biggest hits, if not their actual biggest hit so far. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girl_Crush
  19. LL's been hosting for a few years now; I'm not sure how long his deal's for. But, you have to admit, it's great cross-promotion for both his music career & his role in NCIS: Los Angeles which, of course, also airs on CBS. Carrie's hair is real. She actually got it cut in early December--the article I'm linking is from, like, December 9th or 10th, 2015. Probably because, besides being a busy (& currently touring) singer & wife, she's also the mother of an almost 1 year-old son (I think his birthday's at the end of the month). A lot of mothers of very young children find it easier to have short hair as opposed to long. http://stylenews.peoplestylewatch.com/2015/12/09/carrie-underwood-new-haircut-bob/
  20. Her verbal presentation issues may have to do with the fact she's dyslexic. I read that on her Wikipedia page when I looked up the info on her clothing line.
  21. Hunter Hayes is a country music singer; Estelle is a British singer/rapper; Ciara is dating that big NFL football player, Russell What'shisname from the Seattle Seahawks & is also a singer (& I think model); Ta'Rhonda is on the Fox show Empire; as the synopsis says, the other 2 guys are (from) the multi-award-winning country duo Florida-Georgia Line.
  22. They were right on, in fact. But I just looked at the online TV listings I use (TitanTV.com) & now they're showing that there will now be a 2-hour break in the marathon, from 9-11PM Eastern tonight, for 2 airings of the new Major Crimes episode (which wasn't in the listings when I originally posted about the marathon last night; I'm sure because I read the listings multiple times before I posted, to be sure of the start/end times of the marathon). Once the 2 airings of Major Crimes end at 11PM Eastern, the marathon is scheduled to resume & run until 5AM late tonight/early Tuesday morning.
  23. Is it just me, or does it seem like Anne & Tyler were doing an awful lot of coaching in this ep, once they got to the actual cooking of the final meal for the culinary experts? And I mean more than I thought they were supposed to have been allowed during the finals all the way back to S1. I thought the mentors were just supposed to be there to explain to the experts what they did over the previous weeks with the "recruits" & that was about it. They could be in the kitchen, but they weren't supposed to help in any way or taste the food as it was being prepared &, I thought, they were supposed to hardly even talk to their "recruits" except to let them know how much time was left in cooking whatever course.
  24. According to Alyssa's Wikipedia page, her maternal grandmother was a hat designer & her mother, Lin, who's also her manager, was a women's wear designer. Also, Alyssa created a collection called Touch, which is team--& presumably league--logo apparel & accessories aimed at female fans of sports normally thought of as male-oriented (NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, etc.). She designed it because she's a big sports fan--particularly baseball--& the only "female"-oriented apparel she could find for her favorite team(s) was in pink (which she said she hates... and it's stereotypically "female" besides--this is my comment, not Alyssa's). Here's a link to her touch website. http://touchbyajm.com/ So it would appear there is a legitimate link between Alyssa & fashion. I've actually known about her "female sports fan" apparel/accessories line for years, but I Googled it again to be sure she still had it & to get the name of it, which I'd forgotten.
  25. Taking my response to Alyssa's thread because I wanna respond to the bolded comment.
