  3. Lady Gaga will perform a tribute to David Bowie at this Year's Grammys. http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/6865866/lady-gaga-david-bowie-tribute-grammys
  4. Add me to the list. I&I also maybe wasn't a personal favorite ep of mine, but I also don't skip it (or the Documentary Special "clip show", for that matter) when doing a complete series rewatch.
  5. When they began the adoption stuff, where they were looking specifically for "little" children, they signed up to do it through 2 different agencies (I guess that's what you'd call it). I think 1 was Rainbow something or other, & the other was Little People of America. Jen mentioned this in 1 or more episodes where they visited the placement agencies in the ep(s) before they were matched with the boy they eventually adopted & renamed Will (William). In my opinion, just because they aren't mentioning LPA on the show in every/every other scene, that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't involved with the organization.
  6. James will be hosting this year's Tony Awards. http://deadline.com/2016/02/james-corden-host-tony-awards-1201694769/
  7. I read last night, between the airing of the east coast feed & the west coast feed, that they were trying to fix what they could of the sound problems (like the "crackling" some described during Julianne's Hopelessly Devoted... performance), but I don't know if they could've fixed the 1 place where the sound totally went out briefly or if they actually managed to fix anything for the west coast airing (being in Indiana, I saw the actual live east coast feed).
  8. Multiple sources have stated today that JK Simmons *will* be a presenter at this year's Academy Awards. That's pretty much to be expected though, unless he's filming something on location outside of LA & there's no way he can get back for the ceremony, since it's been "tradition" for a number of years now that the 4 acting winners from the previous year's ceremony return the following year & present the award to the opposite gender winner in their category (i.e. the previous year's Best Actor presents to the new Best Actress, etc.). So we should see JK this year when they present the Best Supporting Actress Oscar (more & more likely to Alicia Vikander for The Danish Girl, based on the results of the major Supporting Actress awards given out so far this awards season).
  9. I think it was also used in the original Walter Matthau/Tatum O'Neal movie version of The Bad News Bears. I had seen it before this & I'm more sure than not that it was somewhere other than the Klugman/Randall version of The Odd Couple, & I'm pretty sure it was in BNB.
  10. I bought the movie soundtrack CD from Amazon during the show too (& I may eventually also buy the soundtrack for this, either from iTunes or Target... Or wherever... Since the songs are from the movie more than any other version). Despite being an Olivia Newton-John fan since the beginning of her career, I'd never bought the Grease movie soundtrack since the movie was originally released; I'd just been content to have whichever Grease songs she included on her hits compilations--usually just Hopelessly Devoted... & You're the One That I Want. I decided it was time to get her other songs & some of the other characters' songs, & I bought the physical CD since I pretty much collect Olivia Newton-John's albums/CDs, instead of just downloading the other songs off of iTunes. Thumper: The guy who played Kenickie last night was Carlos PenaVega, from the (I think now defunct) musical group/Disney or Nickelodeon show stars Big Time Rush. He's married to Spy Kids actress Alexa PenaVega; they both competed on this past season of Dancing with the Stars, where Julianne Hough--& 1-week special guest judge, Olivia Newton-John--critiqued their dancing.
  11. They already have announced them. On Palm Sunday, they're doing a live musical version of The Passion (about Jesus' crucifixion), narrated &--I think--produced by Tyler Perry, with singer/celebrity cookbook author & cooking show host (& Mrs. Garth Brooks) Trisha Yearwood as Mary & American Idol S5's Chris Daughtry as Judas, among others. After that (I think someone upthread said in December), they're doing The Rocky Horror Picture Show with Orange is the New Black's Laverne Cox as Dr. Frank N. Furter, Tim Curry as the Narrator, & solo singer/new lead singer of Queen/American Idol S9 runner-up Adam Lambert as Eddie.
  12. Blanche was played by Haneefah Wood, according to the show's Wikipedia page & Twitter last night. She's in Brandy's new show on BET.
  13. They're "anthology" shows. At least with respect to the fact that each season is considered a self-contained miniseries, sometimes/often with some/all of the characters appearing in seasons following their original introductions.
  14. Apparently, after some point, he didn't. I remember Andi saying to Toby at 1 point that he didn't need an engraved invitation to see the twins. But I could also understand his unavailability when he was still employed at the White House; working there is really demanding. Considering Andi was a sitting Congressional Representative from Maryland at the same time--again, not necessarily 1 of the least demanding jobs in the world--I kind of felt Andi should've understood the demands Toby's job put on his life outside of work.
  15. So... Food Network's premiering yet another Guy-hosted show Friday night. Thankfully, it appears to be a limited series of 2 months or less in length. It's Guy and Hunter's European Vacation--Guy & his eldest son, Hunter, traveling around to 7 different countries in Europe, enjoying the cuisine. Hunter started last fall, or is starting this fall, at Guy's alma mater UNLV in Las Vegas & he's apparently doing the same "food & hospitality industry"-type major Guy took. I think I may have heard/read somewhere the trip was Hunter's graduation present. Anyway... The first country they're visiting in the show, according to the promos I've seen, is Greece--which puzzled me since they're doing a European trip. Is Greece *really* considered a European country? I've never thought so.
  16. The Brown & Goldman families weren't even consulted on anything to do with the upcoming FX show. At least that's what (I think it was) 1 of Nicole's sisters told People magazine, & I read on their site in the last week or so. They have concerns over how their lost loved ones will be portrayed, as a result. So, if they weren't consulted about the show, I don't think they're making any money from it.
  17. That's cool. Didn't know you knew. By the way, love your avatar! Somehow, I only caught it this post, or I'd have said something earlier.
  18. They will be. As you may have seen during the commercials, they're doing The Passion in March, on Palm Sunday.
  19. In the stage show, as I remember, Sandy's last name was Dombrowski. In the movie, it was Olson. I haven't heard what it is here yet.
  20. Joe Jonas & his apparently new group DNCE are Johnny Casino and the Gamblers here.
  21. I think Mario Lopez just said American Bandstand at the beginning of this scene, instead of National Bandstand. Oops...
  22. The Shop teacher. I think the character's name is Mrs. Murdock.
  23. Does anyone know where Sandy was originally from in the stage version? Just curious. Olivia Newton-John's movie Sandy was an Australian transplant, like Olivia herself. I'm guessing Julianne's Sandy is supposed to be from Salt Lake City because the Hough family is from Utah--it makes sense to me, anyway.
  24. The soundtrack's already up on iTunes, in case anyone's interested. There'll be an actual physical CD version, with 4 more songs (at least some from the movie version which either didn't make the cut to the live show, or maybe just not to the soundtrack for it), available at Target stores as of March 4th. The linked article gives the downloadable track listing, as well as the 4 songs added to the Target CD version. http://www.ew.com/article/2016/01/22/grease-live-soundtrack-release-date Perhaps they cut Hopelessly Devoted... (if they did... maybe they just moved it in this version; it's on the soundtrack for this) because (at least in the movie) it was an outdoor number (Sandy sang it sitting at the edge of a little kids' swimming pool & walking around the backyard of whichever character's house the sleepover was at) & they've been having rain, including severe thunderstorms, in the LA area since about midafternoon, & they didn't want Julianne to look like a drowned rat for her next scene.
  25. Vanessa Hudgens' father, sadly, died of Cancer last night. She plays Rizzo in tonight's production. She still plans to do the show & dedicates the performance to his memory (I'm not sure if she has a choice not to go on, as I never heard the showrunners talk about any problems like needing an understudy for 1 of the main actors on the night of... Just how they'll handle the outdoor scenes [like the End-of-School Carnival which was the movie's finale, among others] if there's El Niño-related rain during the show--& weather forecasts earlier in the week were predicting a 100% chance of rain in LA today, so...). http://www.people.com/article/vanessa-hudgens-dad-greg-dies-grease-live
