  1. I'm not positive about the Airplane! movies, but he does have a small part in The Towering Inferno. He's a security guard at the building involved in the inferno who discovers the beginning of the fire & starts evacuating some of the lesser of the major characters (the ones who aren't killed early in the movie & also aren't trapped at the party in the penthouse/way high floor ballroom with the HUGE names in the cast--Paul Newman, Faye Dunaway, etc.). I think it's implied his character lived through the fire, but I'm not totally positive.
  2. Apologies for the rather late notice, but I just heard Courtney B. Vance (Johnnie Cochran) will be on CBS' The Talk this afternoon (Thursday), in case anyone's interested in watching his interview, which is probably promoting this show. The Talk normally airs on CBS at 2PM Eastern/1PM Central. Check local listings for the correct time & channel in your area, especially if you're west of Central Time. If you miss(ed) the show, all or part of the interview should be available online--at CBS.com, & perhaps the usual other sources--at some point after the show airs this afternoon.
  3. You can now buy a set of The Americans "nesting dolls", modeled on Russian/Eastern European "Matruschka" dolls--those dolls where the smallest goes inside the next largest, & so on, until all the smaller dolls are in the biggest--through the FX Network Online Store. I think they're kinda cool. There are 4 in the set, depicting the members of the Jennings family. From smallest to largest: Henry, Paige, Philip, & Elizabeth. I think it's interesting that, according to the picture, they seem to have made Elizabeth the largest of the 4 dolls, as opposed to Philip, since adult males are considered the heads of American families, when applicable, & (in my opinion) making Elizabeth the largest doll in the set could imply she's more the head of the Jennings family than Philip is. I don't know if that's meant to dovetail with normal Russian/Soviet Union-era family dynamics, it's meant as a commentary on Jennings family dynamics, or if it's just the way the manufacturer happened to make the set & it really means nothing. But I did find it interesting Philip--the alleged head of the family--apparently isn't the largest doll in the set. Anyway... Here's the link, in case anyone's interested in seeing or buying them. http://shop.fxnetworks.com/the-americans-family-nesting-dolls/detail.php?p=836062&v=fx_shows_the-americans
  4. Aaron Sorkin's bringing To Kill a Mockingbird to the Broadway stage. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/aaron-sorkin-bring-kill-a-862489
  5. Geena Davis was actually married to Jeff Goldblum years ago, I'm pretty sure. Interesting you would make that comparison.
  6. There are numerous entertainment media Tweets on my Twitter today stating the obvious--the scene with the Kardashian kids after Robert's last name was mispronounced by the reporter NEVER happened. It was just a way to interject the kids into the story again by pointing out yes, there actually is/was a connection between "OJ's Kardashian" & the current media/famewhores Kim, Khloé & Kourtney Kardashian, their media/famewhore mother Kris Jenner, & their media/famewhore half-sisters Kendall (who I think Kris was pregnant with during the OJ criminal trial, & who was given the middle name "Nicole", for Nicole Brown Simpson, at birth) & Kylie Jenner.
  7. Eli Manning explains his facial expression when CBS showed the Manning family box during that Broncos touchdown. http://www.people.com/article/eli-manning-super-bowl-face-explains-reaction
  8. According to TitanTV.com's listings, WE is airing the Mothership starting at 10AM Eastern tomorrow (Wednesday), running nonstop until 1AM Thursday morning. Just an FYI.
  9. I was interested to see Richard T. Jones on the show tonight. He also plays/played the Governor of Hawaii on Hawaii Five-0. His recurring character hired Lauren German's character on that show, Lori Weston, to "babysit" the team & try to reign in more of their unorthodox methods, then he fired the same character later in the same season (S2, 2011-2012) because she basically ended up not fulfilling any of the objectives of her position the way the Governor imagined them.
  10. I think Cuba Gooding Jr. is supposed to be on ABC's The View tomorrow (Tuesday) to talk about playing OJ in this show. The View is normally on at 11AM Eastern/10AM Central, but doublecheck your local listings for the correct time & channel if you're interested in watching.
  11. I loved the Steve Harvey T-Mobile ad too. I'm glad he's got such a good sense of humor about the Miss Universe gaffe & has maintained it since it happened--plus the whole "owning your huge, made on an international stage, mistake" thing. I think, though, that it's also been something of a joke since it happened--not just in the Super Bowl ad--with him being among the first to make 1. A week after his pageant gaffe, he sent out a "Merry Easter" Tweet when it was actually Christmas (or close to it). http://www.people.com/people/mobile/article/0,,20975913,00.html My other favorite was the ad with Oscar-winner Dame Helen Mirren about not driving after drinking "adult" beverages.
  12. I've never had a pear & cheddar sandwich, but my Mom has served pear halves (the canned kind), with a bit of shredded cheese (I think American, not cheddar) on them before. I actually like those.
  13. What about Anna Deavere Smith (Nancy McNally) as the CJ equivalent? And the actress who plays Ellie Bartlet (middle daughter, most like Abbey) is in it too--I think as Annette Bening's character's sister or something.
  14. I'm a "chronic" hospital patient due to issues related to birth defects I have/had (I also was hospitalized at TX Children's, for a special type of surgery they don't/didn't do closer to my home, in the mid-1970's). I was most recently in my local hospital for 2 weeks this past October, & I've hated "medical" needles as long as I can remember (I'm 52 now). When I was there, the nurses, etc., who had to stick me for IVs/meds, blood, etc., said that shots usually stung because the alcohol from the wipe hadn't dried enough on the skin (the person giving the shot should wait 30 secs. between the alcohol & the needle stick, they said) before the needle stick. But, yeah, the medicine stings sometimes too.
  15. I was merely trying to say I think Will & Zoey would already (at least somehow) understand they aren't biologically related to each other, or to Jen & Bill, because of the visible differences in their skin colors (in response to whomever originally brought up whether or not their being adopted has already been brought up with the kids). Sheesh!
  16. Do both malls have a Build-A-Bear Workshop store? The mall they went to might've been a consideration based on that factor, since Will was building a bear for Zoey's present. If they showed the mall's name, maybe they (the producers) were also trying to "throw off" viewers who might go to Houston with the intention of finding their house, by going to a mall they wouldn't normally go to since it's out of their neighborhood (shrugs).
  17. Current shows I love I'll watch weekly--I basically have no choice since I don't subscribe to streaming services. But I'll binge watch complete series DVDs I have of old shows I loved (like at least 1 disc a day from the set).
  18. I think he also is/was a producer of all the shows in the PR "franchise".
  19. Considering Will & Zoey have different skin colors from Bill & Jen (& also from each other... & Will should also remember going to India with Bill, Jen, & Kate to get Zoey), I would think they could already understand Jen didn't give birth to them/there's no other biological relationship among/between them.
  20. This will be repeated on Fox on March 27th. That's the Sunday after their live broadcast of The Passion.

  22. IMDb says it was filmed in Watford, Hertfordshire, England & Rabat, Malta. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4337894/locations?mode=desktop

  24. Peter Lenkov said the stuff in Philadelphia Grover talked about (I assume that's what you mean) will come up in Ep 619--so in about 5-6 weeks or so, if the episodes run straight through between 614, which airs next Friday, & 619.
  25. Eddie Jackson did a cooking segment on CBS' The Talk today. You can probably find it at CBS' site or elsewhere online.
