I was just surfing around the Auditions area of the DCC website.  Wondering, where do the girls get the actual "application" that they fill out to turn in?  You have to have a username and password to even get past the "my audition application" link on the website.

Season 10 Episode 6, show group auditions. Kelli says Jinelle is not as strong that year, but Katy (Jinelle’s current fiancé) says to put her on anyway because overall package is good (I assume being well spoken, good on appearances, reliable, etc.) Some one then asks about Angela. Katy comments Angela has turned down appearances. In the end, Jinelle makes show group and Angela does not. Now that I know about Katy and Jinelle’s relationship, I am wondering if Katy didn’t push for her just because that would mean Jinelle would be in attendance at all the USO tours etc. I like Jinelle a lot, but still. Anyone ever consider this?

It probably had to do with her visa status and what type of visa she had. If she entered on a tourist visa, she could audition because they aren’t paid at that point. Once she made TC and became a TCC (where they are actually paid - even if it’s a paltry amount), she had to apply to get her visa changed so she could work as a foreign national. Sometimes those visas take time to come in, and often the petitioner has to return to their originating country and re-enter under the new visa.

I don't work in immigration services - although the work that I do do (lol @ doodoo cause I’m apparently a 12 year old boy), I often deal with individuals who have B1/B2 visas and often switch to other visas depending on the circumstances. B1 are for individuals who have business in the US but are being paid by their employers in their home countries, and B2 are for vacationers essentially. Neither of those 2 categories are permitted to earn a wage in the US. So I’m just speaking from experiences and very generally....

I truly have no clue what happened with Yuko, but would hazard to say she was on B1B2 tourist meaning she couldn’t earn a wage and had an expiration date to her stay. Once she made TC, she would have to get her visa changed to a work permitted visa, and maybe she just didn’t do it in time. Again I don’t really know what the deal was but that is how I interpreted it. 

I wonder if her husband is an American citizen (works in the US). If he is then wouldn't she become one too?

Also when Angela first auditioned she probably had to get a different Visa once she made the team. Jinnelle too.

There are quite a few Japanese nationals working in the MLB, so wouldn’t surprise me if he’s a green card holder.  I wonder how they connected? They seem super happy, and beautiful wedding pics.

When I looked into visas when I thought about auditioning myself, it was an absolute minefield. Different countries offer different visas and the British ones are super strict. You basically have to be sponsored by a company to get a work visa. I gave up researching because it was so complicated!

I believe Jinelle and Angela both travelled on student visas to begin with before applying for a different visas after 3 years. Unsure about Yuko but it seems like she was on a temporary travel visa and didn't realise she couldn't be a DCC unless she could get a work visa.

There's a youtube video from 2006 about the TB Bucs cheerleaders. A Japanese girl named Tomoko whose auditioning for her 2nd or 3rd year  She says if she doesn't make the team, she would have to go back to Japan. She was on  a entertainment visa.

Doctor lady says her scan was good, maybe 1% higher than it should be, but doctor lady is not worried about her health at all. And Jay is all “but blah blah uniform”.  I laugh every time.

I don’t think we know when they got together. So 🤷🏻‍♀️.  I’d like to think they kept everything professional.

watching s14 for the first time, and i'm so annoyed i finally decided to make an account after lurking for months lol.

i've never been more annoyed with a cheerleader EVER than i am with meredith. she is crying literally every episode. she sucks. this is not her style, plain and simple. she's not a cheerleader, but she and they keep forcing it. it's just not realistic. this really is her season, huh? she can't blend in the amount of time they have. it's such a different style, and she's outdanced by literally everyone else there as is. if she weren't so beautiful they would've gotten rid of her a long time ago. does she get better? i'm on ep 11 i think, i cannot believe she made the team. it's ridiculous. i am so damn sick of seeing her sob.

any time she actually did half decent and K or J would point it out and everyone clapped, it was like everyone was trying to make a little kid feel better

when kelli cries about meredith saying her future is in their hands...i'm pretty sure many girls have said that before. she acts like this is so deep and has never been stated...lol. seriously?

s13 victoria was a trainwreck in every way, holy crap. don't need to elaborate on that because i see how hot a topic this was on this forum. BUT i am shocked at how much i'm enjoying s14 victoria. she's actually such a powerful and great dancer, she's so much more mature and levelheaded, her body looks better obviously (i totally feel for her weight struggles, she looked fine before just not cheerleader thin, of course), and i can see her making the team on her own and not just because of her connections...which, if she made it last year, wouldn't have been the case. 

can we talk about how briana had the weirdest, most under-the-radar comeback of anyone ever on this show? she tried out one season, didn't make it to training camp, then comes back and makes the team and gets maybe one talking head the entire season? and on s14 maybe one talking head again? so strange. she really toned up and is so beautiful. i'm really glad she made the team. also love that she and brennan (my #1 fave) are bffs ❤️

i can't believe kat made the team either. more believable than meredith but still. she got better at the end but still...and the hairline of her wigs is so bad. why didn't they fix that

Just saw the Cassie "asthma attack" episode (304) on CMT.  Does anyone remember who was sitting on the floor in street clothes when Kelli was calling girls to the office after that?

When Kelli doesn't like you for whatever reason you're gone. (Cutting Brandi Kilby).

Side Note (because I can't watch the next episode right now):  Can we PLEASE continue to NOT have Kitty around?

We the viewers are only seeing a small fraction of what goes on during TC. Who's to say other TCC were not also called out several times and cried as well?

I'm from Tennessee so I was happy when Brianna made it last year.... I too am wondering why no real air time for her ... when I watch for her in the background she seems like a solid dancer ... I guess no way CMT can make drama ...good for her 😉

Victoria ( not vk) but the one who was larger than most cheerleaders said 138 is not a comfortable weight for her.   I don’t understand why she didn’t go to jay when she was told to go to jay.  She might not have been cut so early.

She seemed to be a leader of some sorts that season ...teaching the dances and also seemed Kelli's go to girl .... hmmm ... season 6 is on now gonna have to pay attention LOL!!

Lol yeah. I don't know where she was in the formation. If Whitney Isleib was point for 2 years, then it was her. I can never remember if she was for one or two.

Season 7:  Anyone remember how long it was between First Meeting and first rehearsal? Still trying to figure out if K&J knew about TCC Carla Ann's boyfriend's photos before TC started or if they were sent at a later date.

I think the story was that she had a legal issue. It's too bad however because she looked strong in some of the clips of her dancing in the background. 

Watching season 7, and while there were definitely some weak cheerleaders (hello Emily and Teri), I think that was such a diverse and talented group. Some really great dancers and performers Jacie, Olivia, Carissa, Jennifer, Kinzie, Jenna, Kali and other really memorable or likeable DCCs -Danielle, Alex H, Ashley. I also thought Season 3 was a great class, as well as Season 8 and 9, but with 8 and 9, I thought there were just 3 or 4 standouts (Melissa, Erica, Lacey and Amy, Megan C, Holly, etc), more so than it being great top to bottom.

There was a mugshot of her arrested for an assault charge. I can't find it anymore. Probably why her cut wasn't shown.

I think that was in the 2 hour special ... there was an issue about cheering on the visitors side ... I am wondering if that is why after that it was decided to rotate each quarter ????

Ah! I was sure she was arrested for something but couldn't find any info anywhere.  Thanks!  Hmmm was she arrested during Training Camp?  Might be why her cut wasn't shown is that she was in jail.  Maybe she just stopped showing up to rehearsals?

She danced for the San Antonio Spurs Silver Dancers for 2 seasons.

IIRC, Jenna was outdanced and had gained weight from her rookie year. She came back and reauditioned after going to the Spurs dancers, and I remember being disappointed that she didn’t get a come back spot. 
 

Side note - watching the infamous interview with Kat and her cut out dress. I find myself wondering what the heck appropriate occasion would even be for that dress. It had much larger cutouts than I remembered, so wouldn’t be appropriate for work even in a more fashion forward workplace. (And I’ve worked in several retail buying offices and attended multiple fashion weeks. That wouldn’t even fly with us.) 

The top of the dress is very wear to work, so wouldn’t be great for brunch, and it’s not quite dressy enough for a cocktail party. I loved the color and the cut of it (without the cutouts) but this was a dress I would have left on the rack.

I remember thinking it seemed like an odd choice for a dress, but then, a lot of the dresses worn for interview are definitely not my style (Chicago winter ninja wouldn't fly in Dallas).  It's a hard choice though sometimes when you're trying to walk a line between frumpy and inappropriate.  I also remember thinking when they interviewed her at her place of work in the first year she tried out that the skirt she was wearing was crazy short for a professional environment.  Of course, if I had her legs, perhaps I'd have different ideas about skirt lengths, but who knows.  Right now I'm going through my closet trying to decide if a couple of the pencil skirts I've got are office appropriate or not.....they've got an obvious metal zipper, so I'm probably going to err on the side of "not."  Just not the kind of risk you want to take professionally, whether it's cutouts or zippers 🤷‍♀️

I agree! I just saw this episode again last week and I guess I had forgotten how really "cut out" it was. Basically just connected in the front in a triangle like a club dress. I also think she may have been too skinny for it, because the bottom half looked like it was hanging off her a little instead of acting as the skirt part of a two piece outfit. I still don't think that she needed to be dressed down like she was, since as a veteran they obviously had a whole year to see how she dressed for appearances and if it wasn't right, Kelly could have corrected it at any time. But yeah, the dress was different than I remembered.

Poor thing must have been humiliated ☹️ She probably should have known better, but as far as simple mistakes go, that didn’t seem like it should have been a deal breaker. I’m sure it knocked her off her solo game big time.

See, and I remember liking that outfit, but don’t remember how short it was. I know A LOT of sports marketing (heck, any marketing) and medical/pharm sales people that wear some seriously sexy, form fitting suits to work. And I saw some super short skirts (with tights) at my own workplace, so I think my threshold for that is probably pretty high. Apparently I draw the line at bare midriff 😂 

And super agree on fit! Dressing a very slim figure can be just as tricky as my tall, plus sized one for sure. Getting dressed any given day as a woman isn’t easy. As Kelli says during uniform fittings, it’s amazing how so many women that are essentially the same size can be so very different. 
 

ETA: I suspect one of the reasons Brenda (?) was so tough on Kat is because she’s a vet and also one of the older team members with a professional work history. I think if a 20 year old had worn the same outfit she might have been chided but chalked it up to a lack of experience/immaturity. Really, Kat should have known better. And I think she did, because she mentioned in her talking head that If she had questioned it she should have made a safer choice.

I have hopped off & on of Pluto seeing 3-4 episodes probably per season.  I just realized I am not seeing any episodes featuring shooting the calendar or the ones featuring the reveal.  Did they just acquire regular season only episodes?
