Tucker Carlson makes fun of Mika & Joe for being opposed to family separations at the border yet instigating their own family separations. He mentioned Mika being Joe's 3rd wife.

Much as I am loathe to defend the pairing of those two, the analogy between getting a divorce with full knowledge of who gets custody of the children and when and what's happening with the family separations at the border is ludicrous.

Not clicking that link to find out more as I'm not going to put any money in Carlson's pocket.

Mika has replaced her emotional support cake with a 30 gallon drum of ice cream.  Look I ate quite a bit of caramel corn/cheddar cheese popcorn at the movie yesterday, but I'm sure as F not posting pictures of myself. Have some self respect, woman!

Rachel must be one of Mika's minions.

It's outrageous that Gifford's did not return a phone call from one of the world's most powerful cable tv pundits. How can they do this to Joe ???

Gifford's should be shipping ice cream to Mika & Joe's Florida breakfast nook ASAP.

  • Who is Rachel?  Her intern? Co-author? Daughter? Meeka will do/try anything to make herself seem more "human" or One of the Girls. You will never convince me this isn't a contrived picture to show what a Broad she is.  But the ice cream sure does sound good.  Now I want some.

Rachel is the wife of Dr Dave Campbell who makes regular appearances on MJ. I think they also live in Florida, near Mika and Joe. I noticed that at the end of today’s show, when they were listing all the MJ crew members, Rachel was listed as something like “chief of operations”.

Wow, who knew the Scarborough's were so good for the local economy/employment rate.

That is next day hangover binging if I ever saw it.

"Here I am digging ice cream out of the container because I can't be bothered to put it in a bowl.  Also appears I haven't washed my hair in a few days. I'm trying to appear to be a "normal" person, those randos I try to con into coming to my shaminar, but failing miserably. "

So what are you Mika? Miss High Falutin' Washington Insider? Or the sad emotional wreck who destroyed her marriage for a job she can't do?

Is the voting on this still open?  If so, I vote for option number two.  Yikes her hair alone . . . eek.

ITA Chloesmom!  I thought it sounded kind of mean, but this isn't her running an errand and paparazzi snapping a photo of her sans make up and hair in a pony tail, she purposely posted this.  If you scroll thru the ice cream photo, the third one is a close up of the ice cream.

Because no one knows what vanilla ice cream with chunks of coconut or whatever looks like.

I noticed Joe is hosting alone today, she's probably still recovering from her Christmas sugar binge.

Don Imus, who held the morning MSNBC slot before Joe, died.

Joe apparently forgot the part about how Imus got fired because of racist remarks about the African American players on a women's college basketball team.

His racism was well established before he found the intersection of racism and misogyny in regards to the Rutgers women’s basketball team. He referred to Patrick Ewing as a knuckle dragging moron and his sound production crew added in ape noises when he discussed Ewing and his Knicks. He called Gwen Ifill a cleaning lady. He was racist and sexist and what a surprise, Scarborough admired him.

I don't even understand the "owes its format" comment.

Imus was doing a radio show that was being broadcast on television, for a while it even aired from the WABC radio studios, until they moved to MSNBC. They had comedy bits and musical guests.  They discussed politics a little, but it was not a straight up news/ political talk show.

How is that like what Joe & Mika do, other than the fact the two of them have conned MSNBC to keep them on the air this long is laughable?

Here you go kids! Mika's Monday Tips for Living a Better Life (these only work for her)

DO LESS! Yes, Mika wants you all to do less. Stop doing stuff for your families or at work. Do less! It will force others to do more. Like your employer, he'll have to fire you, so that is more than he was planning to do, if you had instead done your job.

RESET YOUR MIND!  Mika, the neurologist has scientific proof from an MRI that if you stop what you're doing in the middle of the day for 20 minutes and sit quietly, your brain gets better.  This is actually Mika just staring off into space because she can't remember if she told Joe to run to Publix and get her a cake.

BE HAPPY!!!  Don't worry if that happiness comes at the expense of others!!  You now have the money to buy your daughters' affection.

As far as "do less", the only way Mika could do less is if she was in a coma.  Instead of re-setting your mind, how about get it working and learn to read a teleprompter and do your job.  In closing, we all know you're happy. You make millions of $ a year to do virtually less than nothing.

I sometimes watched Imus in that slot, and I don't get that, either.  Other than there's a host and there's guests and there's commercials and they're in the same time slot MJ now fills, I don't see any correlation between Don Imus's show and MJ whatsoever.  It's not even like Imus invented the format, because he didn't.

Meanwhile, I lost my regular invite to MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” the day in early 2010 when I failed to correctly identify the person Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski believed was the MSNBC equivalent of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. I can still find the video and transcript, courtesy of the right-wing Web that loved how a “clueless” me was schooled, especially by Brzezinski:

JOE SCARBOROUGH:  …I think it helps us all to say there are extreme voices on the left, there are extreme voices on the right, and it’s our responsibility to call out people, I believe, on our side.

JOAN WALSH: Who would you have me call out? I mean who would you say on the left is comparable to Rush and…

SCARBOROUGH: Don’t do it.

MIKA  BREZEZINSKI: Mmm-mmm! No thanks, Joan. We’re good. We’re good.

SCARBOROUGH: Can we talk about the Chinese now?

MIKA: I think it’s all very obvious.

WALSH: Is it obvious? Who on the left is comparable to Rush and Glenn on the right?

MIKA: Okay, Joan, if it’s not obvious to you I’ll talk to you off-set.  I mean, my God! Alright so let’s read from the Washington Post…

SCARBOROUGH: We’ll talk off-set.

WALSH: Okay…

MIKA: Seriously, it’s like BLIP… BLIP… BLIP… right in front of  you and you’re like [imitates willfully clueless Walsh] “I’m sorry, I don’t see it!”

A shocked Walsh was left with her mouth hanging open.

I am sure my mouth did hang open. It just hung open again, reading that exchange. “Off-set,” and also later on the Web, it was “revealed” to me that the correct answer was then-MSNBC host Keith Olbermann. Folks, Olbermann has had his career and personal ups and downs, and I have had my own with him, but there is no way that he ever—then or now—spewed the crazy hatred, let alone the casual racism, of Limbaugh or Beck. Of course, the history of this f&%^cking decade shows that “Morning Joe” later opened its airwaves to candidate Donald Trump whenever he chose to phone in—and even later turned on him, to the hosts’ credit. But “even later” was too late. The damage had been done.

I'd have to argue with "to the hosts' credit". They did it because it served their purpose. They knew the backlash coming and they changed course.

They're self serving assholes. Period.

Guests on Morning Joe in 2010 should have known that Keith Olbermann was Joe's sworn enemy on the network. Joe was also furious at Glenn Beck making more money than him because he syndicated his show to the network.

Mika & Joe were friendly with Trump after the Inauguration. They went for lunch at the White House.  Joe received information from Jared & Ivanka & blamed Stephen Miller for the travel ban. They became very anti Trump after he attacked Mika over her "bloody" face lift.

Joe was a bit jealous  today that he wasn't part of the Mar A Largo New Year's Eve party a few days ago.

Mika & Joe were the featured guests at Mar A Largo NYE party in 2016.

Honestly, I think Joe enjoys placing himself in opposition to Trump and playing protector to Mika.  It is kind of messed up, but I believe they like the drama.  They have never had more interest or attention than they have now.

I agree. They are the ultimate "day trading " pundits. They flip flopped on supporting Trump several times throughout 2015 & 2016.

Mika & Joe wanted to be in the "cool kids crowd" after the election & were trying to influence Trump to pick their friends for his cabinet. They were successful in getting Dinah Powell appointed to be part of Trump's administration but failed to get Trump to nominate Richard Haas to be Secretary of State & Harold Ford Jr to be Secretary of HUD .

I swear if Marty Baron gives this guy one more inch of editorial space I am going to fly out to DC and punch him in the nuts.  Good grief I am choking on the fumes from the whitewash of his and the Mrs. complicity in helping that "appealing but erratic" candidate get elected.  You say you've known him for years Joe?  Then you have seen/heard of this behavior and worse.  Only a fellow narcissist would think the other would change and grow into their new responsibilities when they don't even see they haven't grow into their own.

I feel the same!  This is not the man who oversaw the Boston Globe's take down of the Archdiocese of Boston. The only thing I can imagine is Joe has a contract with WaPo, it was executed before Baron's time at the paper, and has a no editing of content clause.

A high school newspaper wouldn't allow Joe to spew the bullshit he gets away with in one of the most revered newspapers in the US.

Maybe Marty just loves trolling Trump & Joe, and that's why he allows this nonsense to continue.

The thing is, we all know by now that MSNBC has a FANTASTIC maternity/parental leave program, so all this "anxiety" is a little exaggerated.  They all know they'll have a job.

Yes it's exhausting and stressful  (as well as wonderful and a miracle)  to have a baby, and not be at a job you love , but maybe Know Joe's Value and her team could talk about women who actually do worry about their jobs after having a baby.

It's getting old to hear about how hard it is for wealthy women to "come back to work", or how hard it is for the minions to fold teeshirts for Cruella deScarborough.

It would also be good to hear about stressors on families regardless of gender and about challenges for women in the workplace that are not related to pregnancy.  Mika is so focused on pregnancy that all of the good work her female colleagues do is subsumed by the state of their wombs.

This dynamic is also evident in Joe and Mika's "coverage" of health care. It's obvious that they have a generous plan and don't have to worry about co-pays, not being able to see a specialist because she's not in your network and not having to worry about getting slapped with a surprise bill for going to a hospital in your plan but getting a doctor who is not. So they don't really understand why so many people with insurance are frustrated with the system. And they've never really discussed how to help the uninsured.

I wish there was a way for the women at MSNBC/NBC to have a supportive network for working women without it having to be attached to Know Your Value.  It demeans anything they do by it being associated with a woman who did not get the position she has thru work and talent.

Comcast/NBC is a horrendously sexist corporate culture. They probably know KYV is a joke that will never truly push for anything, and that’s why they prop it up.

I would have liked to have learned whether her husband is getting any time off and what his anxieties and later work prospects look like.

If you're asking about Kasie's husband, she said he took paternity leave and the importance of father's being able to do that.

Coincidentally,  she showed up on MJ in the 7:00 hour to talk pregnancy. babies and all things KYV. I turned the TV off.

Gotta kiss the ring.

In my previous post, I didn't mean that the women who work at MSNBC (other than Mika) are "wealthy", I know they make good salaries, however,  I was referring to the knuckleheads who show up for her "wealthy white women who whine" shams.

I would also imagine KYV is Exhibit 1 when any of them wimmans try and say they are not valued (and are being placed in next to impossible situations by those he-mans in the corporate offices).

Money well spent as far as they are concerned.  So gross.

I watched for a few minutes this morning, during which time Joe did one of his rants and then threw it to Mika for her comment.  (Blah, blah, rant, rant . . . Mika?)

It would amuse me if, during such a time, the camera switched to Mika just as she was stuffing her face with cake.

That's probably mean, but I can totally visualize it.

When watching this show, we have to take our amusements where we can.

Well they use to go from Joe to Mika, and she was making faces into the monitor, as if she was trying out different ways to appear to understand what was being discussed.

When in actuality, since even when they discuss something complicated, the majority of the conversation is so ridiculous even Mika could understand it, if she wasn't so busy trying to come up with new ways to indoctrinate every female employee of Universal/Comcast/NBC into her KYV cult.

Jesus fucking Christ on a cracker, now she's glomming on to Lady Gaga.

Mika states this therapy is helping her with her addiction to sugar and sleeping pills and helped her realize she can put herself first.

When in God's name did Mika EVER have a problem putting herself first??

I have never in all the time she's been on Morning Joe heard her mention Lady Gaga.  So what she watched A Star is Born this weekend on HBO and decided she & Joe are Jackson & Ally?
