The Darkest Hour is great. Her new one is very different (very AU in which the characters are not much like they are on the show, and there seems to be a bit of a love triangle brewing) but I’m sticking with it because the premise is intriguing. And now that Felicity and Oliver are in each other’s orbit it’s starting to pick up. 

@ladylaw99 if you’re still looking for recs, the first one I ever read is still one of my faves: Times Like These by anthfan

Thanks @bijoux and @Trisha for your rec's.  I read Between the Shadow and the Soul last night and it was great.  Thanks @apinknightmare for a better and more interesting story than what we got.  I couldn't put it down until I finished it.

Thanks @Mellowyellow for the rec.  With the latest snow storm I have alot of free time on my hands.  So today a fire and a fanfic is what the snow gods order.

Right until I started feeling bad for both Felicity and Oliver since whatever they are starting they don't get to finish with Thea and William just around the corner.

Well written, emotionally strong and I am so grateful that THAT Oliver only made a short appearance during the dark days of season five.   And even then he was never this emotionally constipated.  

I can see the appeal of perhaps Oliver reacting to the reality he has created and doing some chasing, though the picture painted of him right now seems so bleak I'm not sure he wouldn't keep going in the opposite direction just to punish himself.

When you go to your bookmarks, there's a sort and filter button on the left that includes tags, relationships and fandoms. Maybe that'll help?

Going to wail here about my fanfic woes since if I wail at hubby he'll just yell at me for not concentrating (although a good telling off does wonders for my focus).

Arrghhhhhhh I have one more chapter to write and I wish it was just written for me!!!!!!!! *wails*

I was doing so well last week (1000 words every night) and then I take a break for a few days and go off the rails!

I have realised I am not an "inspiration" writer but rather a "sit down and meet your word quota" writer. I need inspiration for plot but waiting for inspiration to write means I just do not get stuff done! 

*wails* *trots off to bake muffins*

Sweet, but but the names Jonas and Jonathan are way too different for me to believe anyone would remark on any similarity

and I really don't buy that John Diggle would not comment on the fact that Oliver just named his kid after him.  Or that Oliver would only tie the name back to Jonathan son of Saul being like a brother to David.  And thus a brother to Willaim??  Huh?  That last part made me feel like I was the one on drugs that makes one loopy.

Interesting the comparison between the two even with the same theme.  I could see being a Lauriver shipper from the first one, she used so many nice shots of them and very little Olicity.

The second has more Felicity and makes Olicity seem the stronger of the two pairings.

In the notes at the end of the latest chapter of MachaSWicket's Blindspot, there is a link to a fund raiser for a fundraising drive for The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.  It's called Remember Baby Sara Diggle, in honour of Sara Diggle, erased by the Arrow-verse.

On another note why do people insisting on using the Oliver Queen/Felicity Smoak tag with fics THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH EITHER CHARACTER!!! Nothing at all! 

It is driving me mental on Ao3! I swear it is making me miss out on good fics as I just get pissed as I am scrolling through! Seriously I am not going to read your fic just cuz you lied and tagged Olicity in it! WHY???!!!!! Such a futile thing to do!

I was just complaining about something similar on Instagram. Annoying to go into the Olicity tag and then seeing all kinds of birds, wild rats, loliver and other crap. Like, is that the only way to get people to see your sorry ass content? Ugh.

Why would *I* an Olicity fan suddenly read your Barry/Snart fic just because you have forced it on my list. Will I suddenly have a revelation and leave you kudos and dozens of comments! If anything I will curse you like I am doing now! Gahhhhhhhhh

I don't even bother tagging Barry and Iris when they appear in my fics because they are never main characters! I don't want some poor WestAllen fan to think it's a WestAllen fic because it isn't!!!!!!

Yeah there is a difference between listing characters in a story and listing relationships.  I don't think some people get that.  Though I've also known others that freak out if they aren't warned ahead of time of any side ships.

You're much too nice to give them the benefit of the doubt! I so think they do it on purpose! 

Do you freak out over side ships? haha I'm so Olicity focused that I think I'd be generally ok with whatever side ship is going on. Unless it was something bizarre like Diggle/Laurel but I wouldn't think anyone would be particularly bothered if they read an Olicity fic and WestAllen were married in it.

No, side ships usually don't bug me, lol.  I remember in the Stargate SG-1 fandom though that some people just hated anytime Col Carter and General O'Neill were shipped because of what they perceived as an imbalance in their power dynamic (and that she still called him Sir) 

That said, I'm not a fan of Barry/Caitlin as a side ship, not because I couldn't buy into it if the show had sold it but because right now it's just too far from canon for me to be ok with it without the story having to make way too much a deal about explaining what happened.  It becomes distracting from what I want to focus on.  Aka Olicity!

Changing the topic for a second.  Does anyone recall where exactly Walter found the book he gives Felicity to decode?  I can't seem to track it down.  I want to say he found it in some special compartment but I can't recall if it was in the bedroom or a bookshelf or a dresser or what.  It's for a fan fic.

He had the rank, but she had the brains.  ;-)

I don't mind side ships as long as the characters aren't in a canon ship of their own.

I think it was in a clock in their bedroom. I just watched the scene on youtube 

but I'm still not actually sure where it was.

Yep, it was in a clock in their bedroom. I just looked up the scene on Netflix. Moira was at her vanity getting prepared for a an engagement at the art museum, and when she left, Walter started searching the room.

I'm not 100%, but I doubt they could. If they could've proved someone was cheating in previous visits, they would've gotten caught earlier.

They can't take any money you already left with but, if you're caught cheating they'll kick you out and keep the chips.

They'll also blackball you and if you're talking about Vegas most casinos are connected, MGM owns like 11 or 12 casinos and Caesars Entertaient owns a bunch too, plus Wynn owns like 3.

Of course there's always the small/local casinos.

BstnStrg13 has started An Arrow in Time, an Arrow/Timeless crossover.  It opens with Felicity so frustrated at having to work with Curtis on their company because of the way he's treating Team Arrow, she accepts Barry's invitation to join the Central City gang for lunch. It's Barry.

I thought 'Tis The Season by OlicitySmoaky interesting (although it may not be to everyone's taste).  It's in TV show script form, which ordinarily I would avoid but this is pretty well done.  Felicity is a former child star who returns to her home town to host a cooking show. But she can't cook. Her childhood friend, Oliver Queen, can though.

Have you guys ever dreamed or plotted out an Olicity fic in your head only to have NO recollection of it later?

I had one of those realistic dreams that was barely distinguishable from real life. I was at my computer writing an outline for another Olicity Chinese series adaptation. Perfect fit series too! I swear I thought it was real as I was tinkering around with my storyplan and now I can't remember which series it was or what the plot was! I am so upset!

Anyone ever totally forget about a ship/pairing and/or show that they liked?

This happened to be the other day, I webt over to FF.net in search of a particular fic and stumbled over a bunch of stories and I couldn't for the life of me figure what it was about. Who are these characters? What show is this? Did I log into someone elses account?

I figured it out after a short while but, it was odd that I had so totally fogot about the show/pairing.

I bring this up because I'm now reading a ton of fanfic for this pairing (Jess/Becker, Primeval) and, I can't help but see how similar it is to Olicity.
