When your on a perfectly nice date with a perfectly nice guy, and you mentioned you love Arrow, and this exchange happens:

Date: Arrow is such a good show, but it has some serious problems."

Me: "Yeah, I totally agree, even if I love it."

Date: "Olicity has almost reuined the show."

Me: "...what was that?"

I must now consider where this relationship goes from here.

Next question- Have you ever heard of Reddit? If he answers in the affirmative I'd call it a day :P

Good New Everyone! He is not a fan of Reddit, and I manged to at least get him to acknowledge that Olicity isn't the worst thing to happen to the show. He still didn't fully acknowledge their awesomeness though, so onto the next step! Power Point! I think I can make progress, maybe...

How very Felicity of you @BkWurm1 :) I like it!

Phew!  That's very promising.  You may continue dating him.  ???

You are heading out on a date with hubby when he tells you he wants to take you jewellery shopping for your anniversary.

M: Aww that's very unexpected and sweet of you. What brought this on?

H: You keep re-watching those shipping clips from the crossover so I figure even if I can't do heart eyes I can buy jewels.

Bless him he's not a romantic but he tries! A few weeks ago he had this long conversation with me trying to work out why I ship Olicity so I think he's worried that I don't think he's romantic enough!

@Mellowyellow, your hubby is amazing!  Definitely a keeper.  Most fanfic writers I know either keep it a secret or get it treated as a silly waste of time by their husbands.  (Mine refused to let me talk to him about the motivations of my male characters because he had better things to do.)  Yours not only supports you in it but he also takes you jewelry shopping!

This is part You Know You're and Bitterness.

I was watching a documentary on Agatha Christie's Poirot (the TV series). They talked about how Poirot was more of a solitary character in the books, but they wanted him to have other characters to explore with. He ended up with this core group of Miss. Lemon, Hastings and Jabb. From 1989-2013, they were the core.

I know it really isn't comparable to Arrow for a number of reason but it reminded me of OTA and that potential and it made sad and a little bitter.

I do like having another example of what works so very well in one medium (books) but wasn't enough for the audio/visual medium of television.  I feel like it needs to be said often.

I have your answer.  Get hubby to plan something romantic.  Then just copy that!  Or come up with a reason why Oliver gives Felicity somethings shiny.

Sadly I don't think Felicity cares for shiny things! I reckon shiny things would have been more of a Laurel trait *insert horrified face, that's why Hubs keeps accidentally quoting Laurel to me*

But I will scroll through my romantic song playlist and see if anything hits! I have one idea for Lunar New Year at least! Haha I am very superstitious when it comes to my Olicity shipping!!!!

You make a friend on the jewellery forum who is super nice and accomodating in helping you out with gems. You mention that you ship and write fanfic. She doesn't bat an eyelid, even tells you to include gems in your story. You find out she's a big fan of the Marvel franchise and now you really really really want to ask her if she's heard of Olicity..........

Someone asks you to bring them the big silver scissor from the drawer and you do so but before you hand it to them, you see the manufacturer name and get super excited that it's made by Arrow. (It even had little fletching marks behind it) You then comment that it would be a good weapon to kill someone with.  A little too eagerly.

Is strawberry preserve a separate option or is it supposed to go together with ham and cheese? Because I’m not so sure about that second option.

Monte Cristos are usually served with some kind of berry jam either on the sandwich or on the side. The sandwich is usually sprinkled with powdered sugar, too.

I recently finished reading a new novel by Linda Howard titled The Woman Left Behind and thought that it would make a great movie starring Emily Bett Rickards.

The book is about a young woman who works in the communications control department of a paramilitary organization (which does covert ops for the U.S. government). When she displays a high aptitude for spatial awareness and action, she's reassigned from her comfy office job to become an on-site drone operator to provide field support for an elite paramilitary unit (basically, tech support in the field). She has to go through intensive physical training and weaponry training. Even though she hates even working up a sweat, she's really stubborn, so she sticks it out and surprisingly qualifies. Then her team is set up and ambushed while on a mission in Syria, the base where she's controlling the surveillance drone is blown up, and her team thinks she's dead. So she's left behind to make it on her own to the extraction point.

Spoiler

I thought the book was pretty good up until the Syria mission in terms of her training and reluctant transformation into a believable field operative, but then her solo trek to save herself was too rushed. I would've liked that portion to be expanded, while the front half of the book could be shortened. Also, the love story between her and her unit leader was kinda under-developed. And yes, I could see Stephen Amell playing the unit leader.
