While I am no Shannon fan, and am firmly in the "Shannon and David Both Suck" camp, if I were Shannon I would be livid if my supposed friend said that my ex (who I'm in the process of rancorously divorcing) "must have been a saint" for putting up with me during our marriage.  I mean, that is some next-level shit.

I'm just going to jump in with my own unscientific opinion here...I feel like some of us on this board are quick to assert that so-and-so isn't plus-sized (or is), and I just think that the answer is that we can never know. Sizes have become so subjective. If someone is a four at the Gap or Old Navy, they might be a 10 or 12 at H&M. The industry can't even decide where plus-sized starts. It's between 10 and 14, but some even consider eight to be plus-sized...

Another thing I think we're failing to take into account is height. My sister-in-law was in my wedding and she is very tall and lean. No one in or out of their right mind could call her fat or chunky. My mother-in-law could have knocked me over with a feather when she told me my SIL's dress size for my wedding wound up being a 10. By contrast, my sister, who is 5'5" and not that much smaller, could barely fill out a four (she was getting alterations day-of!), so I really don't think plus-size is simply a matter of fat or skinny. Height and hip size really play into it.

Just glancing at this picture, I can't discount that Emily, Vicki or Shannon might be plus-sized. On top of lighting, there is Photoshopping and touch-ups that they do before and after the pictures are taken. There is no way of knowing that they didn't simply chop off some of their body parts. They could have easily whittled down a few inches on each side of Shannon's ass, There is just no way of knowing what was going on with Vicki, due to the color and cut of her dress, and Emily looks like she is wearing Spanx that could hold back the Spanish Armada.

Speaking of Spanx, in Jamaica, when Emily was swinging and hanging with the girls, she was wearing a black one-piece that could have easily had a waist trainer build into it. But when she was wearing a bikini on the beach with Tamra and Gina she laid on her back and did not move one muscle. I was watching. Both Tamra and Gina sat up, did things, made natural movements, but Emily was stock-still on her back, hence, no flab. Hey Emily, I know that pose. I invented that pose! Lol

I have to say, after last week when so many were posting what a body (!!!) Emily had, I just didn't get it, so I was watching very closely this week to see what I was missing, and I gotta say, I saw a lot of back rolls. A lot. That's not a body I emulate, plus-sized, mid-sized, or minus-sized. And I don't think this is fat-shaming, because I don't think Emily (or any of them) should be ashamed of her body. I just don't think she has a good body. I don't think she's toned. I'd much rather have Ashley Graham's body than Emily's body.

While I'm waxing poetic about body size, I do attribute Vicki comment about needing a medium-sized t-shirt while Shannon needing an XL to be Vicki being oblivious and probably superior, but it could also be true. They are both probably closer to a L, but Vicki holds her weight lower on her body, while Shannon hold hers way up in her shoulders and back. So Vicki might have been right. And Shannon might wear a much smaller pants size than Vicki. No big deal.

Just getting my $.02 cents in there about the subjectivity in standards of beauty, and that "plus-sized" can mean almost anything. Also, I don't know why they do it, but I think women just lie about their sizes and weights a lot. I haven't lied about my weight since I was a kid, and I think there's a lot of power in that. A lot of it might be pressure from men. Sometimes men think any woman over 105 lbs is fat, and by failing to lie to them, I help them see that stereotype is crazy. Women can look super hot at almost any size. But I think when we lie about it to others, we lie to ourselves a little...

Case in point--I know something is not making sense when Gizelle from RHOP (a very slim woman) and D'andra Simmons from RHOD both claim to be a size six. On the day that they can swap dresses and both be comfortable, then I will look up and make sure the moon isn't made of green cheese...I kid, but if women owned their size and were just real (rolls and all) I think the world would be a much happier, healthier place, and there would be fewer eating disorders!

About the lighting or photo shopping, look at Vicki's hips. They aren't even. Maybe it's her stance. ?????

I'm 171cm (5'6¨) for 60kgs (132lbs), and my measurements are 89 - 65 - 95 (in centimeters). I'm wearing a size 2 to 4 at GAP, 6-8 H&M, 36 - 38 in Switzerland, 38-40 in France, 42-44 in Italy, XS-S in North America, S-M in European sizes and L to... XXL in China, so.... Let the fun begin, lol !

The right size is the size you're comfortable and healthy with, everything else in only a label... (kinda funny, because, in French, label is "étiquette" ^_^ )

Yea, sizes are crazy. I don't know what is considered plus size; but when I see people saying they bet Emily is no more than an 8, I'm baffled. I see myself as quite a bit smaller than Emily and I wear a 10-12, depending. I'm 5'4 and 127lbs.

It really all depends on the brands you're wearing and where you carry your weight. I can't wear dresses at all, because I'm so pear shaped.

Either way, I don't think Emily is a knock-out or anything, but she certainly isn't what I'd consider overweight and I appreciate her confidence.

To the part above, I saw that scene in the shop and just thought Vicki was being snarky and 'funny' and perhaps implying in the joke she herself could NOT fit a medium.

It was actually a moment I thought I could give her credit for being humorous, but it seems most people around here read her as being serious. Oh well.

@MajorNelson, I hope you don't think I was singling you out or criticizing you. At all. I can't remember who posts what, to be honest. I agree with you, in fact. She was probably just joking. Or she could have been buying the XL for Brianna. She never said who the friend was, did she?

I was just reacting to the general sentiment of, "like hell Vicki's a M and Shannon's a XL!" Again, I don't remember who posted that in the first place, and I'm certainly not quoting any individual.

I try try not to ever sound pro-Vicki in any capacity, for fear of getting my head chopped off, but I'm actually kinda done with that. The woman got caught up in something really dumb and offensive, but I'm a forgiver of stupidity. She's more needy than evil. I think Tamra's worse. I think Kim Z is far worse. I think Phaedra is worse (there are more if I have time to think about it). I generally think she's a vapid head case, but I'm bored with raking her over the coals for every last freaking thing she does, so thanks for giving me a heads up that I've been harsh.

Wow, that was a lot of waxing poetic about body types and sizes. I, um...just don’t care that much to inspect their bodies and look for rolls.

Shannon talks too much about her “forty pound” weight gain (sad that we all know the exact number). She even told her young, cutie trainer the number. Why didn’t she flirt with him instead of talking about her belly fat endlessly?

Tamra, to me, is TOO fit, if there is such a thing. She looks hard. And mean.

Go away, Gina.   This group already has a major league shit-stirrer.  No need for a second.

If I had 40 lbs to lose, and I had hired a personal trainer I...wouldn't care if my trainer were a "cutie" or not. I would care if he could get the job done, which apparently he can, cause Shannon looks great now! Not sure how "sad" anything about that transformation is!

I'm not 100% sure how one can be "too fit." Tamra's got a lot of faults, but I'm not sure that's one of them. I'm also a little unsure as to why we should care about Tamra looking "too fit" if a 40 lb weight gain and body rolls are irrelevant?  It almost sounds like drawing attention to body flaws in conventional ways is "sad" and uninteresting, but drawing attention to body flaws that are unconventional is interesting. I guess I would be a little foolish if I speculated that there was a bit of inconsistency at work there...?

you indeed can be too fit.  There is a point where that much physical activity wears on your body.  Gymnasts are hyper fit, but a huge toll is taken on their body.

joints.  Hyperfit people wear them down.  Too little body fat is especially hard on menopausal women.

I'm no doctor and I don't know much about Eddie's condition, but a quick google search says cardiac arrhythmia has a genetic component to it and some of the suggestions for prevention were lifestyle changes that include eating healthy and exercising.  I can't get behind the idea that Eddie caused his health issues by being too health conscious.  Not sure what remodeling has to do with a cardiac problem, unless that's just snark.

Size ten is plus sized?  Oh shit...

No it isn't.  Plus size is typically 16 or larger.   For example your typical Gap, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, etc, is only going to go up to an 18 for XL.  Once a store announces "Now offering Plus sizes" like Loft did recently, the Plus size range will include sizes 16-26.  If you are shopping at a department store like Kohl's or Macy's, the "Misses" department will go up to 16 or 18 for the largest size and the "Women's" department will start at 16 and go up from there.  There is nowhere you will find that will include a 10 in the plus size department.  A size 10 is misses.

I agree Emily looks great, she is proportioned, tight (not jiggly), she has no cellulite, and looks great in her bathing suits.  However, if I were her, I would want to loose a few pounds.  But who knows, maybe when she is thinner her face is not as pretty.  Maybe she knows what she is doing.  Without knowing her height it's hard to guess but I would guess she wears a 10, or 8 in the high end vanity size labels, and buys a L.  Vicki, OTOH, shoves herself into a 6 and that is why her skirts and dresses have those unattractive horizontal stretch and pull lines across the front, like her reunion dress.

Well.....I just read Tamra's blog, and she and Eddie are starting a CBD oil company ~~ maybe you'll be able to get dog-friendly CBD supplements from her!  :-)

Y'all, I'm just going with what the Google has told me: "According to PLUS Model magazine, 'in the fashion world, plus-size is identified as sized 10-14...'" Then there are super-sizes. Then there are apparently extended sizes. I googled this topic prior to making my post, just so there would be no confusion, but that was my preconception coming into this discssuion as well. Don't shoot the messenger, lol!

As far as being "too fit," I think what some here are describing is becoming unfit from too much exercise, which is not "too fit"; it's just the opposite. It's like saying someone is so flexible they tore a ligament by hyper-stretching. I would argue that the person in question is not "too flexible." I'd argue they are not flexible enough (at least for the time being). Agree to disagree.

Shannon is constantly negative and in such a horrible state of self-pity - so you're going through a divorce, deal with it like an adult.  Most of us have went through a divorce at some point - often left penniless, and with young children, yet we remain dignified and strong.  The woe is me, is ridiculous! Especially when she doesn't care, even slightly, what someone else might be struggling with. It's always all about Shannon...and it's ALWAYS NEGATIVITY. I wouldn't stay married to someone like that either!  Pathetic. As for Tamara, she constantly starts the shit, yet will always blame someone, anyone, else.  She comes off with this holier than thou attitude, but completely lacks all integrity. Also, pathetic!  Really though, Shannon and Tamara both think they're just such caring women, but are both so self centered they apparently have no clue that they are both total bitches....that just amazes me.  Finally, am I the only one who actually likes Gina?
