They just showed two back-to-back ads for Turkish Airlines, which apparently is the official airline of this movie.  ???

Anyway, one showed Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne talking about how great Gotham is becoming.  The second one showed Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor (and good Lord, but his hair is terrible) talking about how Metropolis is open for business.

I just can't help but wonder what happened to Bruce Wayne's PERSONAL JET that he now flies Turkish Airlines? Rolling my eyes here.

And I burst out laughing seeing "Lex." I think he's aiming to look like Ledger's Joker and failing miserably.

Aw, I know it doesn't fit in with Snyder's bleak, gritty Dark Knight Returns strokefest, but it's just not the Daily Planet building without the big globe on the roof.

I know, right? The Globe should BE there!

That hair is the real enemy Batman and Superman need to team up to fight.

Yes. That...wig is the real enemy.

Final trailer.  My two-word review: holy shit!

good shit go౦ԁ sHit thats ✔ some goodshit rightth ere right✔there ✔✔if i do ƽaү so my sel i say so thats what im talking about right there right there (chorus: ʳᶦᵍʰᵗ ᵗʰᵉʳᵉ) mMMMMᎷМ НO0ОଠOOOОଠଠOoooᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒ Good shit

That opening scene was amazing!

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent...with the dark hair and glasses...heaven help me. And it appears that like he gets into the tub with Lois as Clark? Well now! I'm the odd woman out in preferring Cavill as Clark Kent vs Superman.  That scruffy, Henley look from MOS before he donned the cape? YES.

Ahem...plot wise, the opening and closing shots were nicely done.  There's a lot of ground to cover, and I'm somewhat concerned that the bulk of the plot has been revealed in the trailers.  Guess I'll see how it plays out on film.

Agreed that the fight choreography looks good. Much better than the Nolan Batman movies, imo.

Diana and Bruce fail the ten-second chemistry test. They're trying really hard to have chemistry and not succeeding.

Can Superman kick Batman's butt halfway around the world? Batman gets more obnoxious with everything we see. "If there is even a 1% chance he is a threat we have to treat it as an absolutely certainty!!!!!" Uh, no, bro, you really don't. I don't think you understand what "1%" means.

Well it's more than zero percent. Now I love Superman II but Chris Sims from Comics Alliance doesn't like it mainly for the scene at the end where he beats up the trucker who beat him up earlier when he was Clark and didn't have his powers. As Sims puts it in his review with David Uzumeri:

Chris: So instead, we finish off this movie with Clark Kent going back to that trucker diner and picking another fight. Which, by the way, he does with the hilariously Elementary School style “I’ve never seen garbage eat garbage before!”

David: Alright, Imma let you rant from here.Because this scene is just… like, how is it any better to be a BIGGER bully?

Chris: Exactly. Clark is no better than the trucker. He goes and hurts someone that he knows can’t fight back because he can. That is the literal definition of being a bully. Superman – SUPERMAN – goes and gets revenge. F*** this movie.

David: This one scene hurts a lot. Like, cut it out and it’s a substantially better movie.

Chris: It breaks it. It breaks the entire movie. I’ve said it before, but Superman has to be better than us, because if he’s not, then he’s terrifying. This movie forgets that in an effort to pander to the lowest common denominator of wanting to see our “hero” shut up some low-rent jerk – and this is after he f***ing murders Zod! No amount of great performances from Reeve – and he is great, even in this scene – can fix the fact that he’s playing a bad character.

It goes back to Man of Steel.  Remember, in this version, partly due to Pa Kent's admonishing Clark to keep his powers a secret, the first anyone knew of Superman was Zod's freaky-scary "YOU ARE NOT ALONE" message, followed by Zod and Clark having a brawl that destroyed a big chunk of Metropolis.  The big takeaway from this is that, even if Clark spends all his time protesting that he is effectively Mother Teresa, humanity is absolutely powerless to stop him if he isn't.  Now enter Batman, whose whole purpose in life is to be prepared to flawlessly execute against every contingency, and expect him to just trust this guy?

"If there is even a 1% chance he is a threat we have to treat it as an absolutely certainty!!!!!"

Because that worked so well for America when we nuked Russia the minute they developed the Atom Bomb in the late 40s. Oh, wait.

Someone should have taught Batfleck the difference between being prepared for worst-case scenarios and creating them via unprovoked aggression. For example, if Zod had been willing to terraform Venus or Mars and had asked Clark for help resurrecting the race instead of mind-raping him, attacking Martha, and immediately proceeding to Plan Turn The Earth Into A Barren Rock, he'd be alive and happily ruling over New Krypton right now instead of dead with all his followers spaghetti strained back into the Phantom Zone.

I'm curious how they first meet.  Distrust and wariness is one thing, and would be an interesting mirrored perception of how Clark saw the world in MOS.  Going after Superman unprovoked is something else entirely.

Yeah, I thought, "Wait, what?" after that line as well.  I don't know, I'm really spoiled by the 90s-00s DCAU version of Batman, who wouldn't say something like that.  Heck, I'm not sure even Nolan's version would go there.  I'm open to a different take on the character, and hopefully, he'll actually make sense in the context of the film.  The trailers aren't doing him any favors.

Since it's related to this movie...

I'm just going to say I think he said it, because he's a classy guy, and I've never heard him say that so and so was an awful Batman, when other actors played the role, be it in live action or in the DCAU.

Kevin Conroy praises Ben Affleck in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Me: BLECH. I love you, Kevin. But no.

ETA: Dammit, I can't link the quote, which was on his FB page.

"Glad to see the Batman/Superman trailer looks so awesome. I knew Affleck would pull it off."

I mean, what could he say and not sound like a jerk? That he thinks Affleck sucks?

I think that Affleck looks fine in the trailers, based on limited footage I'd say that he makes a better Batman than Bale and a better Bruce than Keaton. I don't like the direction it looks like the story is taking the Bruce/Batman character, but that's a separate issue.

I was all-out against Affleck at first, but after the rancor quieted down I thought, if not him then who?   In our minds, nobody will ever be perfect.  Who could live up to that ideal?  That said, I suspect that when all's said and done Affleck will be regarded by many as the best Batman yet.   My only reservation at this point is Affleck's celebrity, which may make it impossible for the audience to suspend disbelief.

I don't know why so many people were against Affleck. I only saw him in two movies, Argo and The Town, and he was fantastic in both. Even in Daredevil the movie's failures had nothing to do with his acting.

I don't think he has much range but I DO think he's good at playing a dick, and seeing as the movie seems primed to make Batman the biggest dick of all time, that works. The true test might be the second movie, where Batman's dickery will presumably have to be dialed down at least a little.

Because I don't like him. And I don't think he's a good actor. Wooden at best. And I never saw his Daredevil movie.  I would have much preferred that Christian Bale reprise his role has Batman since both are close to the same age. Bale can play asshole and a dick as well. Plus, I think Bale is the far superior actor.

I'll have a less difficult time dismissing Affleck's celebrity than Jesse Eisenberg's inability to make me see him as anyone/thing other than himself.

I don't think Bale has any interest in reprising his role as Batman; even if he did, he's in high demand and very, very expensive.

Same here. His casting is just another reason why I'm not paying money to see this movie. I really believe Cavill got shafted and deserved his own sequel to have Superman as a hero, before getting the unofficial Justice League movie. Which this is. I don't care what Snyder says to the contrary. Asshole.

Oh, I know! I know it's just wishful thinking on my part. But a very small part of me, knowing that Nolan is producer, and because Bale really likes and respects him, was hoping Nolan could have convinced him to do it. But only a small part. And have Kevin Conroy's voice dubbed in as Bats.

And now .........................

The $100 Unlimited Ticket!!!!!

For $100, there will give you a special card with your name on it (partly so it will be non-transferrable).

You can go see Batman V Superman as many times as you like!!!!!

This would have come in handy for Avengers & Avatar & Star Wars VII and .................

On the minus side, someday you'll buy an unlimited card for a movie that will stink as much as 1997's "Batman & Robin".

"Awesome!!!  I just paid $100 to go see Ah-nuld & Clooney as much as I can!!!"

"This movie is going to be --------    NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!"

There's no Regal theater close enough to me to make that worth it.  But I think it includes IMAX and the Regal premium format showings, so 6 or 7 times at an IMAX would pay for it.

This is hilarious: Turkish Airlines has added travel insurance for those traveling to Gotham or Metropolis.  I suggest buying the top-level coverage that includes extraterrestrial incidents, with a benefit of $1.5M for Special Forces intervention (Extraterrestrial coverage is discounted 10% if you're only going to Gotham City and not Metropolis due to reduced risk.)

The ad with Bruce Wayne driving a Jeep makes me want to scream & it's on all the time! Bruce Wayne? In a Jeep! C'mon! I guess it ties in with him flying coach. Which, seriously?! This crap is making me grit my teeth & have bad thoughts about this movie, or maybe it's just seeing Affleck & knowing he's the Bat. I've been a Batman fan since I was 6 & I'm still struggling with this. Grrr. The trailers & ads make me want to cheer for Superman & that goes against decades of Bat love. I've never missed a Batman movie & I'm sure I'll see this movie, but aargh! Stupid Ben Affleck. /end rant

I'm pretty sure Bruce is flying first class in that Turkish Airlines ad.  There are a couple of online reviews that are legit, I think, but I've been avoiding them (also, there are some spoilers in the new Entertainment Weekly issue as well).  I'm sure more will come out after the 21st, when the preview showings for those of us who went to the "IMAX Trailer Event" last April will be happening.
