JFC, how many teen mom alumnis (alumnus?) are going to volunteer to help Nev. CTFD guys. He's going to pick his wife and that's not going to be any better, but that's the way entertainment works.

This is the third time today I've had to ask what a damn acronym means. CTFD?

Because I am older than the average bear I’ve found that google is really helpful when I don’t know acronyms. Here’s a link to a list of internet acronyms you and others may find useful, @Maharincess! :-)

and another link for you:

that way you won’t have to ask three times again!

That's my issue though, I shouldn't have to Google every time I read a post. I just don't understand why people use them. It seriously takes a half a second to type a whole word. I understand it in places like Twitter where you have a letter limit but I don't understand it anywhere else.

like mama Dawn said "it don't make no damn sense" .

I hear you. I can keep up with some, but it's getting to be like when people abuse hashtags. Like, you're supposed to tag #beach if you're at the beach, not #omglifeissomuchbetterwhenIamhangingatthebeach. With the acronyms, I can deal with a "SMH", or "WTF", but it's getting to be ridiculous YKWIS (you know what I'm sayin?!).

Speaking of hash tags though, I feel like it has been a while since we have #kepttalkingmentalhealth!

@CaliforniaLove this is for you:

Remote is ready, eyes wide, palms are sweaty
There's Flintstones on the TV already, Wilma and Betty
No virgin to channel surfin', and I'm HD ready
So I flip, garbage is all I'm getting
There's Simon Cowell, who folks wanna disembowel
He opens his mouth, always says something foul
They're dying wow, wannabes are crying now
He votes 'em out, time to throw in the towel
Shows based on reality, oh the humanity
Oh, Ozzy's family sho' loves profanity
Woah the insanity, oh dogs that crap and pee
Home of depravity, no they live happily

Why is anyone "supposed to" tag anything? It all just seems silly and senseless to me.

Another comment from Tyler:

tylerbaltierramtvIf everyone would like to know...I am at my sister Amber’s intensive family therapy week program supporting my family in any way they need me, because that’s what I am supposed to do...it’s my call to arms & my honor to support the people I love. So please be nice to my wife, she has been through more than any of you know & we should be lifting each other up as a spiritually connected species, not tearing each other down. Be kind & project love out into the universe & you will be surprised on what the universe gives back to you. ??❤️?

I have a statement of truth that I have been saying to @CatelynnLowell throughout our relationship. “You are BEAUTIFUL. You are STRONG. You are WORTHY” & after diving deep into our therapy & understanding her core wounds, I wanted to add the words “You are SAFE” to that statement

Here's MY statement of truth: why can't you say this shit in private?

I hate how this fool (and many two-bit famemongers like him) use their social media accounts to prop themselves up like they're some paragons of enlightenment.

Tyler truly is a saint. When my family needs me, I tell them to go fuck themselves because I never received a call to arms, so why should I have to do anything? I work for a living. I don't have time to support my family too. He is a godsend to humanity.

I do disagree with one thing though....Catelynn hasn't been through more than any of us know. We know ALL of it, because they have been talking about it ad nauseam on tv, and all over SM for a decade now.

Tyler's call to arms should be fishing, since he is constantly fishing for adoration.

I totally agree!  (see, I wrote it out instead of ITA - not that hard!)

I agree with whomever posted above that this is a new world we live in, and it is filled with acronyms, but I thought we were supposed to not use them here.  I may be wrong.  I think WTF is the only one we should be allowed to use.  I don't want to have to google 10 times in order to read a post and understand it.

If you use twitter but only have a few followers, or none, no one will see your posts if you don't hashtag.  If you want people to see that you are making fun of Tyler (for example), you can hashtag #teenmom or whatever, and then anyone who looks up what people are saying about teen mom can see all the hashtaged posts.

I cannot believe how many Balitierras are either in rehab or fresh out, or needing to go.  I know that his family is a mess, but wow.

It is a good thing his sister is there, she definitely needed to go.

Instagram, too.  And yes, I am one of those folks who do it sometimes to be funny.   Note that I did resist the urge to put a stupid hashtag phrase here.  :-)

On topic:  agree with those who have said that things said in therapy don't need to be broadcast all over social media.   I'd hate it if Tyler were in my family and broadcasting my problems (or his take on my problems) all over the place.

I am wondering who has Tyler's sister's kids.  Hopefully Kim.  Kim is probably over all of this.

I do believe that if you have a public profile on Instagram, using hashtags can further your reach. Hashtags are searchable. So.....

I don't know. I sometimes use hashtags to be ironic and mocking. I don't know if people really get that, but people rarely get me in general.

Expand

my coworker who does MLM told me that you should use more obscure hashtags to move to the top of the search, as in, there are a million hashtags for #exercise but maybe not so with #teenagegirlendometriosis  (I'm sure her daughter appreciates that immensely.) That way you capture and reach people easier, and they might connect with you and buy *your* shakes instead of someone else's!

I use silly hashtags for no apparent reason.  #random #talkingtomyself

Tyler is exhibiting a well-known phenomenon - often times, when people get into therapy for the first time, they can get kind of taken over by it and start using a bunch of new phrases and language that they learn from their therapist - boundaries, self-care, etc.  Its all very exciting as they are suddenly looking at their life through a new lens using this new terminology, and this is leading to all sorts of insights.  Ideally, once a person begins to internalize this new way of seeing the world and themselves, they won't need to make the topic front and center in every conversation (or social media post), and eventually, the "therapy speak" will taper off.

I'm just jotting down a few random thoughts that I had reading the posts:

  1. Tyler likes to portray this image of him as a loving, supportive husband/father/son/brother who puts everybody's needs above his own *cough, cough* but every now and then his real feelings are revealed by the words or phrases he uses; words like "duty" (which he used in an older post) and phrases like "that’s what I am supposed to do," to me, convey the impression that he doesn't so these things out of love or because he wants to
  2. Jeus, God there are people out there asking for more of Tyler's "poetry?" There are people who find this helpful? Just who ae these people? What kind of person finds that inspirational? If it's a fake account or someone being sarcastic then ok but if it's real then WTH?
  3. That wedding picture. Really, Cate thinks he looks sexy in this picture? I don't know if it's the lighting or bad makeup (I'm guesing the latter) but he looks like he has a brownish line running across his forehead. With his whitened teeth, plucked eyebrows and that pose he looks so fake - like a store dummy. Tyler's standing there feeling very proud of himself, happy that the cameras are there, posing and preening for them, his body is twisted away from Cate and towards the cameras; he's completely ignoring his wife. Cate, on the other hand, is looking at Tyler, her body is facing him and she looks unsure of herself, like she's looking for approval or some kind of acknowledgement from him. A picture really is worth more than a thousand words.
