A lot of their "fans" are bots or foreigners in social media sweatshops who like their posts and comment that they're good mothers/inspirational in order to try to beat Twitter's algorithms.  If they can get a verified account to follow them or retweet their bullshit comment, they can go on with their phishing/scamming work without being detected.

Apparently, money is a problem, even WITH MTV.  There's the little matter of a 2016 IRS tax lien in the amount  $134, 919.  Has Ambien ever responded to Twitter questions about that?  I know she blamed her near-eviction on her landlord looking for publicity, as if a landlord needs that kind of publicity.  Maybe the IRS is just looking for publicity, too.

Holy shit! That isn't just for one  year either I bet!  Did she think she could just ignore paying taxes even when MTV sent her a 1099. How can she run off to get plastic surgery that left her looking like a 36 year old grandma and give Rick Moranis money to "flip" houses knowing she owes Uncle Sam that much money?

Easy, people like her apparently don't like thinking about the future, as a matter of fact they just don't like to think. She sees herself as someone who is above the IRS unlike the rest of us and sooner or later her taxes will be forgiven cuz she is on a TV show and is "such an inspiration to young mothers and addicts"

Let's not even mention that there are still people out there who think that their taxes are automatically withheld from their monthly checks and they don't have to file anything, then they come to me expecting to get a huge tax refund (cuz finally someone told them to) and are oh so surprised that they have unpaid taxes since they stopped being able to be listed as dependents on their parents' forms.

I always wondered how some of these people have millions of followers  And don't get me started on the positive tweets people like Amber and Jenelle receive. I assumed they were stupid teens or low-class trashy people(let's face it, there are a lot of Amber and Jenelle's out in the world).

Is it wrong that I want  Leah to tell Amber , "a boo-boo is something you get when you fall, it's not a name!"

I feel like the "respect" is just basically somebody at MTV saying oh yeah ambie you are a great mom to boo boo and Matt is totally not with you for your money and all those exes are losers and the fact that he is a deadbeat father is totally fine.    He really wanted you but aimed low when he went after Farrah and jenelle because you are so awesome and out of his league

You can pay people to click on your website to increase traffic, thus proving to advertisers that their ads on your page get more views. So you can charge more to put their ads on your page. Or to anyone wondering whether you have a lot of followers or fans.

On the other hand, there are websites like Twitter Audit that tell you how many followers are fake:  https://www.twitteraudit.com/AmberLPortwood

As a joke, I once paid a few bucks for 5,000 views on a guy's lame YouTube video that previously had about 12 views.  He still doesn't know how he got all of those views -- LOL.

How funny. I did not know one could buy views for a Youtube video. You must have made that guy's day. ;-)

Oh lookie, it shows a big chunk of Ambie's followers are fake.

I feel like you can't just throw this out here and not tell us the whole story. Who was this guy? Just a random poster you felt sorry for? It's like a fairy godmother for the social media age!

Ginger90, thanks for the update.  I don't read any TM stuff outside this forum. Boy, Farrah called it though,  didn't she? The only thing that would have been better was if she had said "This is dramastic."

... or "None of the girls will severance the relationship."

I guess this proves to all the haters that she is a successful business woman- lol! Now everyone will know her home address, she used that address instead of a P.O. Box (or an attorney's address, accountant's address etc.) to register the LLC.

Used her home address.  Okie dokie then.

I like to think of myself as marginally fashionable. Sometimes I nail it. I can pass for elegant (not pretty, my curse), and I would never wear the shit that Amber wears. Maybe "her woman" is not her.

She used the home address for the LLC when she registered in September. That's how people were able to find out that she was renting.

How long can she continue to use that rental address for the LLC? She mentioned moving on the reunion show. Does she need to update the LLC with her new address? I am not sure how all this works thus my asking.

According to the State of Indiana, she needs to update her business address.

When certain changes occur in your business, it becomes necessary to update your business entity information. These changes may include a name change or changes regarding your registered agent or your registered agent's address. These filings can be processed on INBiz.

Here are some examples of filings available to update your business information:

What does Forever High even mean?  As far as a business name? I don't understand what she is trying to express.

I keep seeing all these clothing stores with the word "haute" in them.  It bothers me on a nearly "Hollister" level.  Have you ever been to Hollister?!  IT IS NOT NEAR A BEACH.

Is this something to celebrate?  You registered for a trade show. Big whoop.

House flipping and boutiques are code words for money-laundering. Not kidding and not sorry. It is Simon's business, Farrah's business and Amber and Scuzzy's business. They are financial smurfs. I would link an explanation, but my PTV tab keeps freezing and crashing, and if I leave to find a link, my comment will disappear. I'm not having problems with other non-PTV tabs.

Farrah doesn't expect a real person to buy that ugly dog statue for four times the amount they could find it elsewhere. She tweets it, and maybe a real person buys it, but the ultimate plan is to be able to say that she sold 100 because she tweeted it, and runs "dirty" money through her business. Maybe she actually drop ships the item to a P.O. Box, but more likely it is run through like the social media sweatshop mentioned above. She may actually "stage" a few homes with her Furnished by Farrah business, but it will be hard to prove she didn't stage 100.

For Amber, money is not a problem outside of Teen Mom, because she is smurfing. At least she thinks, but having legitimate income to mix into the fold is necessary to keep from getting caught. Now she is opening up a charity? Good. Someone who dislikes her will ask her to disclose her disbursements, and her shady accounting practices will tip off the IRS, like many of the celebrities with a large amount of hubris.

I haven't read Matt's forum yet, so I haven't read the ex's account, but I've always thought that the ex's saw him on TM, called Child Support Enforcement, and CSE contacted MTV. I also thought someone from production gave the info to Gary because they were concerned for Leah. The ex confrontation would be better TV, and therefore likely true that production was trying to set up the ex confrontation, though. They showed him taking the info to his attorney and saying he didn't know what to do. I guess it is just as likely one of the exes sent him the info. I know I would if I were in that position.

I occasionally get invited to set up and sign books at horror and paranormal conventions. (Like Comic Cons, only they're for horror writers, Friday the 13th cast members, and psychics.) In the beginning I had to apply to them and fill out a ton of paperwork. Have to admit, it was a thrill. It made me feel totes legit. However, on the flip side I was also working my ass off learning graphic design, creating promos and teasers, networking like mad, and writing for as much as 10 hours a day. Since I am sure Ambien/Amanda is NOT doing any of those things, she isn't allowed to feel excitement over attending a chance for attention trade show.

It depends on the source of the funds.

Here is a definition of a financial smurf.  and here is the Wikipedia definition of structuring, part of which is quoted below:

Quote

Structuring includes the act of parceling what would otherwise be a large financial transaction into a series of smaller transactions to avoid scrutiny by regulators or law enforcement. Structuring often appears in federal indictments related to money laundering, fraud, and other financial crimes.

The term "smurfing" is derived from the image of the comic book characters, the Smurfs, having a large group of many small entities. Miami-based lawyer Gregory Baldwin is said to have coined the term in the 1980s.

Typically each of the smaller transactions is executed in an amount below some statutory limit that normally does not require a financial institution to file a report with a government agency. Criminal enterprises often employ several agents (smurfs) to make the transaction.

Another big way to act as a smurf is to gamble the funds and receive a 1099 back for your winnings. Several casinos in Atlantic City were accused of aiding money laundering several years ago, by issuing 1099s for people who hadn't actually gambled the funds. The cases fell apart because the government couldn't prove it and couldn't get anyone to admit it. One of Scuzzy's alter egos was a professional gambler.

Cash based businesses such as arcades and laundry mats are common businesses used in smurfing. Many convenience stores have also been implicated in money laundering schemes, because they tended to be cash based. Setting up a business such as a house staging business, when it would be hard to prove how many homes you actually stage as opposed to what you actually claim, is a common tactic.

Googling "financial smurf" will yield even more results. If you've seen in once, and I saw it multiple times working for an attorney litigating contract disputes, it is obvious when you see it again. It is one of those things that I used to wonder if I was reading into a situation an unfair belief just based on past cases, but every time I thought I saw smurfing I was right. These people don't even try to hide it.

It gets me with these business ventures. These people have tweeted some crap about their lives, reality show related, and on the same account are advertising a business or show. Who takes them seriously?

Can real $ be made by simply opening up an online boutique? Wouldn't we all we trying this if you could?

Maybe I am dense, but how is actual $$ made if they are not really running businesses?

My PTV tabs are constantly crashing and reloading too! so frustrating.

Amber can't buy herself a home. Also, they can't pull a con with the sober house like they can with an online boutique.

@Christina this is where my mind was going when Amber decided to open a boutique instead of the sober house. A sober house requires far too much work, something Amber is not willing to do.  Matt is a con artist who needs quick cash. Amber and Matt can't have any property in their names too long because they owe $$. Matt needed to figure out a way to have a "business" and pull a fast one. When you mentioned this laundering, it makes sense.

How does Walmart fit in all of this? They visited Walmart recently. Are they buying large amounts of cheap shirts, having someone put designs on them and passing them off as haute fashion?

Amber is too dense to even pull a fast one. This certainly has Matt's name all over it. Someone mentioned the address of the LLC needing to be updated with Ambie's current address. Can someone find out what that new address is? Or, does that not matter if they are running a shady business?
