EllaWycliffe May 2, 2021 Share May 2, 2021 (edited) Also found an article in the Sun that says Chris Cardomone had a child sex crimes conviction in 2008 that he pled guilty to - pleading down from a more serious charge, and spent 78 days in jail. TLC doesn't vet their contracters to make sure children aren't around sex offenders, clearly. And apparently the still on the air talent tried to get him to not speak out. I have respect for Jacob with how he is dealing with his childhood trauma and how he has no fear of calling people out. Regarding the political ideology, I think both Jacob and Jeremy are extreme in their political (opposing) views, probably because of their ages and also because their young age is in the times that we live where everything is made political (looking at you media) and they don't have a different perspective, and I hope that as they get older they will see things differently. EllaWycliffe July 23, 2021 Share July 23, 2021 AzChristian, I raise you this. Yes, one of the producers was a child molester and Matt and Amy invited him into the home. Both continue to do the show knowing TLC doesn't give two shits if their child was raped. Thats the adult supervision trusted by Matt and Amy. Not just Amy all on her lonesome.... in fact usually its all "Matt did everything, Matt wanted the show when no one else was on board" and instead of noting how easy it is for Matt when he's not the one being sexually abused, I willingly put blame on Amy as well. Even tho "Matt was the dreamer, Matt makes the show" is the mantra. EllaWycliffe July 23, 2021 Share July 23, 2021 Well, first Lucyeth, I put equal responsibility on both Matt and Amy. Second, yes, Matt bears some responsibility for creating the situation where his youngest son was abused and continuing to profit from it. So does Amy BTW. I was making the point that if we're going to argue Amy should've known the adults from the show supervising her kids while filming were child molesters, then so should Matt. He was on that trip too. He is their father. And if we're going to play the how could he have known game, I merely point out that Amy needs to be included in that excuse. 1 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/70961-jacob-and-izzy/page/4/#findComment-6909753
LucyEth July 23, 2021 Share July 23, 2021 (edited) Ella, I'm not interested in the trip or who was responsible for supervision. I was referring to the statement that Matt creating the show is somehow responsible for what happened to Jacob. That's like saying if Tori didn't get pregnant she would not have had a miscarriage. For the record what happened to Jacob IMO falls on both Amy and Matt, but saying the creation of show by Matt is a factor is really a stretch. I also hope you were not trying to say those of us who support Matt think that Jacob being abused was okay because Matt made money. That is not okay! Expand Responsibility for what happened rests squarely on the perpetrator, IMO. You can say Matt (and Amy) created the situation that made it possible, but they simply entrusted the professional and TLC-vetted, presumably, employees just as how many other parents in TLC families with minor children have (and do to this day)? They are MORE responsible, if anything else happens, having this precedent set. 8 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/70961-jacob-and-izzy/page/4/#findComment-6909860
