Good for LB! He seems like a nice guy and deserves to have a good life.

I, on the other hand, deserve a non-boring episode of this show.

Did they show what he ate this month to lose 48 lbs and I zoned out, or didn't they show it at all?

They didn't show it at all.

when they don't show them eating, that means they have usually lost a lot of weight for some reason.

quit stuffing your face! Please!

Happy to see him in the pool. Very good.

Agreed. In spite of his weight and amputation, he's still quite mobile. L. B. seems like a nice guy with a supportive family. I hope things work out for him.

I'd like to see those cases too, to see what choices they made, and whether they kept jamming in ginormous portions on each bite.

Mom is  seriously co dependent.  This is more like an early Intervention episode, where there are a lot of hidden issues.  Where is Candy Finnegan when we need her?  Is there a Betty Ford family therapy week for the families of the morbidly obese?

I am guessing he lost the weight by giving up beer and alcohol.  That stuff is loaded with calories.  Chances are he did not stop eating as usual.

I can’t snark and watch at the same time as I am watching this on my iPad, but had to pop in and mention how natural his voiceovers are compared to some of the robotic, scripted voiceovers we have heard on other episodes.

He certainly hasn’t got the “low carb high protein” message!

The mother is definitely a problem.

So, the biological family has addiction problems. Now ain’t that special? You can’t escape it even if you’re adopted. He should be grateful every day that this family adopted him even though mom is a little over-the-top

Mom doesn't really want to go, I kinda can see her point, she has a nice home and family and all, and a year is a long-ass time to leave everything behind.  For some of the people on these episodes it frankly doesn't really matter where they hang their hats.  This family is kinda normal.

so. many. commercials.

What up, Pounders?!  I've been watching while I finished some house cleaning.  This one is kinda sad.  I don't even really want to snark on it.

And yes, the commercials.  I've been flipping back and forth between this and the Olympics, and I can't believe how long the commercial breaks are.  I can watch two whole figure skating routines during one break.

This episode had my back up from the beginning when Paw sez "I gotta have me a BOH tuh carry own the famly name!"

Excuse me: WHAT year is this?

A lot of people still think that, unfortunately. Especially in the South.

Oh, they're in the Piggly Wiggly on US6 that closed a couple of months ago.

He must have stuck to his diet then.
(This is my first time live, on live chat.  Usually I wait and watch the whole show.)

I've been listening to Zeppelin.

I've been daydreaming of watching a more interesting show.

Mom could have just gone to get him settled and fly home. Then cone back every couple weeks. Btw they have internet and computers in Texas. Mom can easily pay the bills from anywhere.

Maybe they're still doing it old school in the mail or something. But yeah. It's excuses.

She was really being extra about all the stuff she had to do before they left. Ironing? Give me a break.

Seriously - you mean your three daughters and husband couldn't have helped you out with that?

Is the slapping down on the table of the superfluous stomach a new thing this year? Like, is it on the list of "must haves" alongside "uncomfortable shower scene" and "awkward trip to the grocery store?"

I agree.  If Assanti can stay by himself, this guy can.  He’s mobile and sane, unlike Assanti.  Mom can see him through the surgery, go home and come back. She seems to be a huge trigger for stress.  They’re both miserable
