It does now!

Sloppy writing. I mean, I get Shawn's grief and guilt, but his wife, mother, grandparents and daughter should - if they are the loving family this show wants us to think they are - be closing ranks and letting him vent/cry/work this out. Hell, why aren't we getting Marlena/Shawn scenes of him in counseling?

They could still give him a plotline without it being absurdly random.

Shawn hasn't "rated" on this show since Jason Cook played him. Or (then) little Scott Groff. (His Shawn-D played out the loss of his mother and had the deaf storyline that brought Carly closer to Bo.)

Pretty sad that 6-year-old or so Scott Groff had more airtime than Brandon Beemer.

I just had a hideous thought- what if Shawn gets blackout drunk & Jan takes advantage of him?

I didn't watch the show until 1997. I remember the pre-teen actor that was playing Shawn before Jason Cooke took over.

That was Colin O'Donnell. I just read (where I found Groff's adult photo!) that Groff's last day as Shawn-D was also RKK's. Also didn't realize he [Groff, not RKK!] had the role for five years. From July 1990 to July 1995.

It was Colin O'Donnell that played out finding out that Gina was Hope. Been a while, but you'd think they would have kept Groff to play that out, instead of older Shawn-D. But bygones...

Same. And I initially kinda liked Dimitri, and this just turns him into a pet of a pet character.

That said, it's better than Leo and Sonny being an item, which it felt like we almost got and which would have infuriated me.

Leo represents a couple of awful gay stereotypes: that gay men are self-obsessed irritants eager to coerce sex out of whoever they can, regardless of how one-sided the attraction is. Add to that the fact that he's been an outright villain and schemer since day one and there's little to like.

Maybe he'll get used by Dimitri, which would be fitting.

I don't want to hear any more about him and Gwen being "besties" when they've known each other what...three months? If that?

Looks like tomorrow is one to skip. Let me guess...Lani is cool with Kristen keeping Rachel in the cellar?

https://www.soapoperanews.net/2023/07/days-of-our-lives-spoilers-july-13-2023.html?fbclid=IwAR1h2Il3aOHoBO4PrQYiMZ8GvCjwU4M3AhcCJVESH0Uk9UiWjfuMisy6D_c&m=1

Well apparently, pretty much everyone in Salem has now been kept in the "secret" room in the DiMeara basement, so I guess the next logical step is to put day care down there.  Lani is probably planning ahead to when she comes back permanently and thinking that it will be a great place to dump her twins.  I'm guessing Holly's already there so it isn't like Rachel will be alone.

EXCLUSIVE! JOHN-PAUL LAVOISIER BACK TO DAYS!

July 14, 2023 12:00PM

John-Paul Lavoisier (ex-Rex, ONE LIFE TO LIVE), who portrayed DAYS’s Philip Kiriakis from 2015-16, will reprise the role next month, Digest can report exclusively. Philip, who is currently presumed dead, was last portrayed by Jay Kenneth Johnson, who returned to the show to appear in the DOOL App spin-off LAST BLAST REUNION in 2019, then to Salem and the main show in 2020. His final episode aired in December 2021, when Philip tried to frame Brady for his murder and Kate secretly sent him away to get treatment.

I am just mad that there are another 2 weeks of this awful Abe story.

Good that Gwen is finding out about Leo and Dimitri. I am guessing the SHE will propose an arrangement to pretend to be married, but she gets a lot of money and won't tell about the true relationship. And, since Megan is not around, it should be easy to hide.

What test results? Are they re-doing Nicole's baby's results?

When is good-bye, Victor? Could Phillip be coming back for that?

So, Brady is going to lose custody because he puts a gun in Kristen's face? Smart. Rachel needs to be in a foster family.

They aren't going to find Lani for 2 weeks? And then she leaves.

I feel like I could get into this storyline if Gwen was written as being on the know and wanting to fake it as well for the money. That would have been consistent with the grifter that we first met.

I do like the idea of Leo finally getting a boyfriend, and I do like Dimitri, so I'm not opposed to the storyline.

Demon seed probably wouldn't care. She's becoming just like her murdering mama.

I agree people think Rachel knowing that Kristen is awful would change anything? On this show?

That being said Rachel acts more like a Dimera than the rest of her family however beyond that I wish they killed off this character she shouldn't have existed to begin with.

Yep. The kid should have been Mackenzie. Or dead. Not rewarding a psycho killer with a baby.

As I am in the proper thread, I can speak freely. Isn't there an upcoming spoiler where Gwen catches Leo with Dimitri?

So, I'm guessing Gwen will be in on the plan and marry for a cut of the cash. It fits her.

With the spoiler that Phillip is returning, it makes me wonder if he will make a play for Chloe once Sarah is back in the mix.

I didn't watch Days much during Lavoisier's last stint. Was Nadia's Chloe on canvas when he was? Were they ever tested?

I like Xander/Chloe, as I said. I also like Xander/Sarah. And since I do think the show will at least attempt a Xander/Sarah reconciliation with their kid in the mix, it brought up this question where Chloe was concerned.

(Looking around the 'net, though, it seems like some were not impressed with this guy as Phillip before. I also know he was on OLTL when Ron was writing. If I recall from reading, his character was involved with Farah Fath's character, so if Mimi ever returns, I bet Ron would try to recreate that couple. So I guess it's good Fath/Mimi are long gone.)

They (Chloe and Lavoisier's Philip) shared screen time. I don't think they were romantically involved as this when the show was pursuing Chloe/Deimos. His Philip was then going to pretend to be the father of Chloe's child (later Holly), but that was before Chloe remembered she was implanted with Dan and Nicole's embryos. As you can tell even from that little write-up, a lot of rewrites were happening as this storyline was airing. I also think NB/Chloe was pregnant in real life during some points of this storyline.

I thought his Philip was okay, but it was definitely a step down for Jay's Philip. I think he had okay chemistry with most people but nothing that really popped. His Philip is one that I know was there, but he didn't leave much of an impression. The Real World guy left more of an impression - granted not a good impression but a lasting one.

Fath and Lavoisier dated in real life, so putting them together depends on how they ended their actual relationship. Granted Philip and Mimi do have a child together.

Since this is the Spoiler section, the speculation on another board is that Philip and Chloe will leave canvas together as NB is apparently no longer with Days.

IMHO, he had a grating Jim Carrey-esque quality. Lots of facial expressions.

He was also saddled with a stupid plot. Turns out he wanted to market Caroline's Alzheimers medication into a psychic drug that helps you see into the future. Yeah. It was awful.

Plus Deimos was credited as being the guy who kept Bo prisoner, after he searched for the miracle cure.

Later, Deimos tied up Philip and beat him or something. And it was clear Philip had two real legs. He left after that humiliation.

It wasn't a good showing.

Was this around the time that Bo could see the future, or was that a different storyline? I swear the things I don't like kinda just bleed together.

ETA: Oh wait, I just remembered Bo was dead when JPL was Philip, so Bo was psychic for some unrelated reason.

I didn't know Bo ever became psychic...

Caroline developed Alzheimers and was taken away by Bo to get treatment...then returned without him. Years passed, Hope moved on with Aiden, and then the explanation was given that Bo was captured while looking for a miracle cure for his Mama. Her condition got worse, he broke out with Steve's help, stopped Aiden from killing Hope, then died himself.

Once Caroline got the cure, however, she started seeing the future, and Philip then thought the drug could be sold as a way for people to gain psychic powers. 🙄

The show was so busy propping up Deimos at the time that the idiocy of the drug storyline kinda got swept under the rug.

Yes they had scenes but you wouldn't guess they had history based on their interactions. His Phillip was involved with Belle though much to Claire's dismay. Strangely I thought they had more chemistry than BB's Shawn/Belle.

I don't think they would recreate Rex/Gigi(their pairing on OLTL) because they were involved in RL and I'm not sure if it ended well or not. Probably not is my guess as it rarely does.  I thought they did have chemistry though.
