I hope Mr Shin is involved and seen on screen. He's the only core cast member on this show who is Mr. Invisible 24/7.

Perhaps he's stepped into Stefano's role as "International Master of Disguise"?

Glad they didn't forget about the midwife...the way they have basically since she was murdered.

Ben killed four people, Show.

(Fine, Will is alive, so technically three)

And wait....wasn't the actress who played Serena also said to be returning?

Saw the promo for next week. I can't clip it but:

In the loft, Ciara says "It's total war" to Claire and then "you broke my mother's heart:" and then punches her in the face.

No Ciara, that would be Rafe, the cheater who did that.

"You slept with Sami," as Hope slaps Rafe across the face in front of everyone. It is glorious.

Eli confesses to Gabi that he cheated with Lani and she asked if he is the father of Lani's baby.

Oh good god...so you guys were right. Ron really is blatantly rehashing a previous story of his from another show. Why would they let him?

*shakes head*

And Eve and Brady wedding? Seriously? How dumb can one episode get?

And some wonder why soaps have died off and are still dying. Recycling the same uninspired, reheated, tired shit over and over and over again. Ron Carlivati is clearly a one-trick pony. He did this on OLTL. He did it on GH. And now, strike three on Days.

A 6th grade creative writing class could have probably penned something new and interesting. And RC is paid to repeat himself. That's the worst part.

Really? Is Ron just blacking out stuff from his two previous scripts and writing new names in there? So what’s this new alter going to be like? Gabby wasn’t a great name to pick because he can’t rhyme anymore names with it. Abby and Gabby are about it.

The slap is hilarious and I cannot stand Rafe/Hope as a pairing ... but come on - they were broken up when he slept with Sami!

Weren't they broken up for like a half hour though?  And it was Rafe who broke up with Hope. He's such a sleazy bastard. Hope, who used to be so strong and smart, is completely under his thumb. She'll probably apologize to him for making him have sex with Sami.

Well sure but broken up is broken up! It is what soap characters do. How long was it that Hope waited to sleep with Bo after Aidan died?

Hope, who used to be so strong and smart

I have never noticed either of these as character traits of Hope's. But hey YMMV.

Tabby? One could be a cabby... another could be a slasher named Jabby... yet another could steal babies and be named Nabby...

Apparently most of the cast will be in "Hong Kong" by the end of March.

(What can I say? I got a bit bored with the current storylines and spoiled myself.)

Hopefully this means we'll get to see Shawn and Belle again?

She hasn't had a storyline since Peter Reckell left.  I agree that she used to be strong and smart, when Bo and Hope made a great team.  Then she fell for Aiden (supergag) and now Rafe (less gag worthy than Aiden, IMO, but still not great).  I want Bo back so badly...

I loved Hope and Aiden. But then again I preferred Bo with Billie. I don't miss Bo at all, but I'd certainly welcome him back to end Rope

I never liked any incarnation of Billie, sorry.  Lisa Rinna's is/was the best, but usually they were all just whiny.

I wonder if they are using this vision problem with Steve to have him have eye surgery so that  both eyes will be normal and the patch will be history?

I hope that they don't do that. The patch is a part of Steve's history, it represents his past filled with pain, disappointment, loneliness and his future possibilities of happiness with Kayla.  It was a part of his characterization, as conceived by Sherry.  Plus, Steve does not have an eye underneath the patch.  Unless, his missing eye regrows...lol

I keep hearing Ross scream "We were on a BREAK!". (gratuituous Friends reference).

Personally it's Ciara decking Claire that I love.  I really dislike BOTH of those girls (and they are "girls" because they certainly do not act like adults).

Glad that Lani's secret is coming out sooner rather than later.

I was thinking the exact same thing, and hope this is where the story is heading.

At some point in one's life, it's time to move forward from the pain, etc.  Steve & Kayla aren't getting any younger, so perhaps it's time to celebrate all the good in their lives. Plus, I imagine Steve Nichols is tired of wearing the patch in his old age, esp. as our vision decreases the older we get.  And Steve (the character) could get fitted for a prosthetic eye in the missing socket.

I think of the same thing practically every time I see Patch on screen these days, having had some vision problems as I've gotten older, and having had to wear a patch for 6 months.  It's exhausting and gave me headaches, having only one working eye.  Poor guy has long days with that thing on, I'd be fine if it was just a memory, for his sake.

Is Blondie (Debbie Harry) still Blondie if she dyes her hair red?  ;-)

When they tried this in 1989, SN was outspoken later about wanting the patch back.  He has talked about how he had to get contacts for his non-patch eye this time around, but a lot of the characterization is based around it.

I don't think Steve and Kayla have much good to celebrate in their lives, to be honest.  As much as I'm a long time fan, their story in recent years has been hit after hit without any build.

I'm still just in disbelief that anyone looked at this actress and decided she could carry a storyline like this. Making her not only play multiple alters, but alters based on other characters, whom she cannot hope to come close to doing a good impression of - this is just embarrassing. What is Ron thinking?

I don't think Ron makes those decisions, that's a production call.

It's not like production calls Ron and says "We'd like an intense long-term storyline about DID with a core family member.  Please make it about one of our finer actors."  They say "We want a DID storyline with Abby, make it work, thanks."

I think that is all on Ron. He pitched his story ideas and Ken Corday greenlights it.. This is the third soap that he has done DID. It cannot just be a coincidence.

Eh, I'm with Apprentice79.  Obviously, Ron having done (multiple) DID stories is on his resume, but I have to imagine that Ron's the one who pitched the story to higher-ups versus higher-ups ordering him to write on.

And, I mean, there are only so many soap opera plots, at least on US soaps.  But, c'mon Ron, shuffle that one to the back of the deck for a while.

I agree. It does make sense that Corday thought that Ron would probably want to do a DID story. However, I don't think Ron was ordered to make Abby the character with DID. At most, she was suggested, but Ron could have gone with someone else. But let's say for argument's sake that he was ordered to make it Abby. There are still ways to mitigate it somewhat - as I pointed out upthread, having MM play not just one alter, but multiple alters, and even worse, having those alters be based on other characters, is setting her up completely for failure.  Work with the actors' strengths and around the actors' weaknesses. Remember when the big Sami/Abby confrontation ended up having Melissa Reeves do all the heavy lifting on Abifail's side, because the show knew that Kate Mansi wasn't capable of holding her own? That was embarrassing for KM, to be shoved off to the side for the climactic confrontation of her own storyline, but still better than having her fail miserably on camera. Instead of something unwatchable, we got some enjoyable scenes with MR and AS.

Or they could have recast. Charity "Very Experienced" Rahmer, anyone? We had what, three weeks, of HorriBelle?

There's truly nothing more romantic than an ultimatum.

What is with Will and Paul being in dry dock?
