Perfect. It was going to happen sooner or later. I can't wait for tomorrow - well except for Jediblahblah trying to explain how it "probably" isn't true.

The fact even journalists have had this info for months and couldn't use it - and now the exact same time (12 days) of info on Hillary before election or Trump's Inauguration is suspect. Russia played us (the USA) and Hillary and Trump.

I am surprised I am not so surprised for some odd reason. No wonder Trump is screaming fake news tonight.

I tweeted Joy.  Let's see if she uses it tomorrow.  There's a "movement", as BLOTUS likes to call it, to get everyone referring to him as BLOTUS by Inauguration Day.

Just realized that Joy should call him PEEOTUS instead now.

All the (TV)  news networks are being very cagey about the specifics of the stuff the Ruskies supposedly have on Donald.  They are not mentioning hookers or golden showers at all.  I don't know if they want more verification or they just can't bring themselves to say it or what. They are tip toeing around it like it's a landmine, lol.

I can't wait to see Joy and Whoopi try to discuss what is happening on tomorrow's show.   The View operates under the auspices of ABC News, if I understand correctly, so I am guessing they are going to get some kind of orders from on high regarding what is permissible to say. But I just can't picture Joy and Whoopi both having enough self control to resist dishing out a few zingers ... you know they are loving this.

The other hosts, though? Sunny probably finds the whole thing embarrassing. I expect a lot of giggling and cringing and downcast glances from her until the topic passes.  Jed right this minute is with a bunch of her cloven hoofed cronies in some dank cellar thinking of ways to link the story to Hilary's emails and prove it's all her fault.  And poor Sara has fallen down an internet porn rabbit hole after googling to find out what a golden shower even is. She may not make it into work tomorrow.

But Whoopi and Joy, both professional comedians ....  always talking about how they are comics and can get away with saying things other people can't .... now's your chance!  I demand at least one decent pee related joke from each of you.  Don't let me down!

Oh boy, I can't wait until the Wednesday show too. I didn't know what that golden thing was until the Tiger Woods scandal, and I thought that was the strangest perverse thing, and now to have it to be always associated with President Elect Creep Trump, that's got to be a fantasy set up for comedians. Of course, the issue of Trump colluding with Russians over the past few years is deadly serious. We are in for some very interesting times in the next few days, and I'm hoping the " Soft Sensual Inauguration" - that's what Trump's inauguration planner is calling it, I kid you not (more comedy gold for Whoopi and Joy), never happens.

This is what I get for going to bed?  BLOTUS and golden showers?!?  I live in the boonies and don't have cable so this is the first I have heard of this.  Not surprised tho.  Dude has a seriously creepy vibe (he's so enamored with his daughter he married a woman who looks like her).  I've been singing in nightclubs, seedy bars, upscale bars, wedding receptions, etc for most of my life and I have met many men like him.  I knew the Russians had something on him (hubby and I figured it was financial) but this?  Heee-hee-hee. I have been hoping and praying something would come out before the 20th but in this day and age even this won't be enough.

Sadly......

The lead news story should have been the incredibly heartfelt, impassioned speech given by Pres Obama last night, instead it's BLOTUS's golden showers?  Yeah, I weep for this country too.

since you asked, here's a link to the released (but not ye verified)  files: Trump Intelligence Allegations

the  crux is that Russia has financial and personal shit on Trump that they have been using to control him.  I am eager to see The View ladies pounce on this.

Hopefully today's episode gets posted on The View's site or elsewhere. Dumph looks like he's going to be giving a marble mouthed speech and I'm sure they'll be discussion about it afterwards on ABC. Even if there's not a lot of the show will be missed if cut to it after this is over.

I think, that, the reason that Trump, is spoken about so much, on the show,  is,  because, this is the first time, in my lifetime, that, people are legitimately afraid, of the incoming president. I don't remember people being scared of Bush winning in 2000.  There were disappointments and complaints, but, never fear.. Not to mention, the people of dubious nature, that, he is surrounding himself, via his cabinet.  Senator Sessions comes to mind.. I am not attacking you, for not liking the political tone, of the show, but, we just had an unprecedented, divisive and nasty elections, followed, by an unusual man, elected, President of the United States.. I am being kind, in calling him, unusual.

I agree, this is why so much talk is about Trump. People are legitimately terrified over the horrors that are about to be wreaked on this country (and the rest of the world). I'll admit that watching Sunny and Joy is a little comforting, and I hope they'll be on The View for as long as this lasts.

Also, I clapped for Gabrielle Union. I'll admit I didn't know much of anything about her outside of her a few of her acting roles, and I enjoyed her defense of Streep. Particularly when she said it isn't attacking when you recount someone's behavior.

I missed the first 30. (I assume BLOTUS started at 11:30?). Are the hot topics worth watching online?

I watched most of it and it is worth watching.

Whoopi had a prewritten intro which made all of the plays on words that the twitterverse was having fun with all night.  They then talked about it pretty much in depth.  They read his tweets and I believe they clarified that the CIA et al did not leak to the media, they did a briefing for POTUS and PEEOTUS.  They highlighted the hypocrisy around unverified allegations and compared this to Trump's birther accusations. Jedi-hypocrite did not defend Trump and talked about the risk to the nation if he is involved with the Russians.

As expected, they stuck to the barest bones of the story, making only joking references to Trump being "showered" with allegations and asking is this a  "golden" opportunity for democrats to get him, or will he be able to clean up these "leaks."   No specific explanation of what they were referring to, but everyone in the audience seemed to know.  They emphasized over and over how these documents are unsubstantiated research memos but they appear to be intelligence reports and they have actually been circulating for a while.

I was glad Whoopi drew a comparison between how delicately some of the media is treating all this (and how basically all of the right wing is completely dismissing it as fake, unreliable, unsubstantiated BS) vs. how the claims that Obama was not an American/is a Muslim were also unsubstantiated but it didn't stop people from seizing those stories and running with them.  Later she mentioned how the Wikileaks material about Hilary and the DNC was treated as gospel and proof positive that she was evil and compromised and not to be trusted.  They can't have a different standard now ... what's good for the goose is good for the gander, so tough!  I'm glad she made a big point out of it because the hypocrisy and the double standards being employed are truly gag-worthy.

Overall it was a good discussion, but I wish they had combed out a few more of the details about what Trump and his people were "allegedly" up to with Russia. (If what is in the report is true) the guy is practically a goddamned spy for them, reporting to them about the activities of certain Russians in the US. Supposedly colluding with the Kremlin in a quid-pro-quo exchange that provided him with information to use against political opponents and a smokescreen to conceal and distract people from his crooked activities and ties to China, given in exchange for promises from him to lift sanctions against Russia for its actions in the Ukraine and cooperation with certain energy policies (among other things).  Things that are just as crooked as hell.  Oh, and that to the extent that Trump is not willing to voluntarily give Russia what it wants, Russia is prepared to blackmail him into doing so.

The stuff about hookers peeing on him is gross and shocking but it really kind of pales in comparison to the idea that the man who is going to be POTUS is in reality Russia's bitch.

FYI, from BUZZFEED:  the actual 35 page document that everyone is talking about.

I have to assume that ABC didn't allow them to go into the content of the 35 page dossier since it is unverified.

Tomorrow the story will be even more interesting with his behaviour at the press conference today.  He is accusing CNN of being fake news, and refused to take questions.  He accused the Intelligence agencies of leaking the 35 page doc to the media (which is not being suggested by anyone, although someone did leak it--months ago!), and accuses CNN of publishing it, which they didn't.  CNN covered the actual news, which was the briefing that POTUS and PEEOTUS received on the dossier.

So many issues to cover without even going into the content of the dossier.  Trump now saying Russia hacked the DNC and that was wrong.  Wait, what?  Trump shutting down the press yet accusing others of Nazi tactics.

Even if the 35 page doc is fiction, Trump's behaviour before and after its publication should be grounds for the RNC wanting to get rid of him.  I don't know what the system is in the US. Here there can be a vote of non confidence by the party in their leader.  Not sure what they have to do to get rid of him in the US, but it clearly has to happen.  The US is going to be severely compromised by this buffoon.

They should also talk about the fact that John McCain has acknowledged that he gave the dossier to the FBI last year.

Trump was also aware of this dossier long ago.  One thing I have read is that the Intelligence agencies were pissed (tee hee) at Trump for bad-mouthing them in the past few weeks and that is why they attached the two page briefing on the dossier.  Karma.  Hope the View gals can get their heads around some of the more interesting aspects of this story, and not just the contents of the dossier.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Republicans do everything but stand on their heads & spit nickels to PREVENT him from getting the nomination.  It was the PEOPLE who backed him as he insulted/lied his was through SIXTEEN candidates to become the nominee.  You can thank all the PEOPLE who didn't bother to vote for or against ANYONE who put him there.  Personally, I don't think the Republicans are happy, just trying to make the best of a really bad situation.  Just sayin'.

Y'know those "downcast glances" (my bolding) from anyone irritate me...same with Giuliana Rancic's putting her hand to her brow and putting her head down when something "inappropriate" (usually sexual) is said on Fashion Police.  It stinks of false virtue/flaunted higher morality to me.  (I hate-watch Fashion Police 20x harder than I do The View.)

I agree, such gestures are usually completely fake and it grates.  One might as well literally clutch her pearls.  But with Sunny, I have to wonder.  There is a real air of daddy's girl, innocent goody-two shoes about her.  It was not at all how I expected her to be based on what I'd seen of her previously and it has surprised me.  I still like her - more importantly, I respect her - but sometimes I do wish she would cut that crap out, lol.

And she totally DID do the downcast eyes thing when Whoopi was making her urination jokes this morning.  But she was laughing, so there's that.

I have been obsessed with the election and all the bullshit going on for a while now, and for a lot of the country, it is the number one topic.  So I am fine with the way the show has been going lately.   It seems more serious, and that matches my mood, I guess.

It may not seem like it but there is more to it than politics.  I tune in for the discussion. I'm not interested in network stars discussing their projects or cooking segments.  I think the show is at its best when it's the core hosts talking about current events.

I've always liked Sara and find that she is coming into her own.  I really enjoy what appears to be a warm relationship with Joy.

Joy was wrong defending Kellyanne Conway by saying she works for Trump, that she is just doing her job.  And so was Sunny suggesting she is merely a "spin doctor."

I watched the entire interview Conway did with Anderson Cooper last night and she was not spinning. Spinning is trying to convince someone that your interpretation of something is the correct one and the one they should accept. It's not trying to convince someone something happened when it didn't.  That's called LYING and that is what Conway was doing last night.

She may be "just doing her job" but if her job requires her to go on TV and completely whore out her dignity and integrity and credibility, then she should be held accountable for being a complete scumbag and nobody should minimize it.  She made a complete fool out of herself last night and her conduct is completely indefensible.  For goodness sakes, even that birdbrain Sara watched and managed to understand what was happening.   And if that twit can see that you are full of it, it's all over.

Joy in particular gets so indignant about so many things, I was really surprised she would just write off what Kellyanne was doing last night.  She must not have seen much of the interview aside from that little clip they showed, because it was at least as infuriating as how Trump behaved toward the CNN reporter in the press conference (if not more so) and Joy's panties were all in a knot over that. Trump was rude and loud and abrasive, but there was a slimy insidiousness to Conway last night that bothered me a lot more.  It felt much more dangerous ... I wonder if Joy would have minimized what Conway was doing if she had seen the full interview.

Totally agree with everything you said.  I had to change the channel after two minutes because I couldn't stand watching her boldly LIE & laugh at Anderson.  As I said elsewhere, when I see her I will change the channel, even if it's Rachel Maddow's show.  I'm glad to hear Anderson got his shots in, but it rarely happens because she's soooo slippery.

This is what they are going to do as long as Trump is in office (my personal prediction is less than a  year) and people will just get used to it.  We already now are so conditioned to them lying or spinning or simply just being obnoxious even when telling the truth that we expect it.  Which is why all of us sane rational people need to beat the gong every single time they do this.  They need to be called out whenever they lie or refuse to answer questions.  Hold their feet to the fire.  Will it stop them from lying? No. But at least we can make sure people know they are lying.

I hope it's not just the producers feeding Sara blue cards with smart things to say written on them. LOL that sounds so cynical, but with this show, who knows.  Maybe she is just finally building up her confidence enough to contribute.

The real test will be how she responds when someone goes beyond what is written on those cards - if she can explain her thoughts and reasoning on her feet, so to speak.  Then we can be sure it's her and not just a plot by production to make her appear informed.
