Gemma Violet June 21 Share June 21 (edited) Joy's latest video involves an obstacle course she set up for the kids. Most of it was cute, but the kids, especially Evie, climbing a stepladder was frightening. The video also showed the kids dancing to Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up. Salacious Kitty June 28 Share June 28 Joy is cutting back on YT videos, citing mostly privacy issues. It sounds like she'll still make videos but on a much scaled back level. TBH, it's the right choice for her. The videos are boring because she feels compelled to pump out so much content. She's even more boring than Alyssa Webster who I stopped watching maybe a year ago. 6 2 5 Link to comment
Gemma Violet June 28 Share June 28 A schedule of weekly vlogs was really too much. Other tidbits: She also said in the video that there will be changes in work schedules and they are possibly moving in the next year. She said Gideon and Evie are getting older and they are trying to be consistent with their scheduling and starting school. When she says, "starting school," I'm assuming she's talking about home-schooling. It would be nice if she was talking about real school. Joy's still working out. It's been two months now. She worked out with Abbie. Joy's car is dirty and she said it being dirty doesn't bother her as much as it does Austin. She said Austin is stressed when he rides in her car because of the dirt. She cleaned it to surprise Austin and Austin was very happy. Austin asked her if it stresses her out to have a dirty car, and she says it stresses her out more to have a clean car because she has to keep it that way. 6 3 Link to comment

GeeGolly June 28 Share June 28 Well thank goodness Joy won't be turning her kids into trained seals like Carlin Bates has. What Carlin and Evan are doing with their kids borders on abuse. Joy needs to watch the rhythm of her family and go by that to make a schedule, because she's not very good at keeping one, as this is her umpteenth attempt at it. The whole family would benefit from it. I hate to say it but... Joy would benefit from a chart so the kids can help in keeping the schedule. 10 1 Link to comment

Lol, they certainly don't worry about germs. GeeGolly July 4 Share July 4 Wasn't it Austin who stood guard so no one would double dip at some function? And Ben who is freaked out about germs. Marrying into this family is a challenge for a plethora of reasons, including a lack of cleanliness. 16 Link to comment

Gemma Violet August 28 Share August 28 (edited) As you know, Joy has stepped away from posting on her Youtube channel, but today she gave brief update on her IG stories--she talked a little about Jana's wedding, how beautiful it was, the stunning venue, Jana looking like a princess, etc. She said they (Joy, Austin, and the kids) left for Colorado that night after the wedding with Austin's family and spent ten days there. She also included a few photos taken at the wedding that we haven't seen. Edited August 28 by Gemma Violet 4 2 1 Link to comment
Madtown September 24 Share September 24 Joy has an insta story. They moved 2 weeks ago. She said they always wanted more land and having a farm, where the kids could roam. lookeyloo October 5 Share October 5 I have lived in the south for over 40 years. I am a city girl by nature. But these activities are very common and very popular. Even among people not like the Forsyths. I remember riding a bike in the small city I grew up in. No helmets back then. No monitoring. Rode all over even in streets. Today my parents would be reported. Of course there are accidents. And of course helmets are a good thing. And of course safety lessons important. Don't know what the Forsyths do but he is wearing a helmet which looks like it is on mostly correctly. 9 Link to comment
CalicoKitty October 5 Share October 5 I have fear/dislike of this type of bike for children. On my first day of clinical in nursing school there was a group of people standing in the hall outside a room. A 12-year-old girl had been riding a dirt bike on her parent's ranch and was having a great time. On her last trip around , she hit at rock. Her family was gathered at the hospital that day to pull her plug. It was an accident, but it had a very tragic outcome. I really worry about the Forsyth kids. I think kids need some freedom, but we have seen them in some dangerous situations which could have been prevented with some common sense. 2 16 Link to comment

I think kids need some freedom, but we have seen them in some dangerous situations which could have been prevented with some common sense. That's the crux of it; I don't think most 6 year olds have the judgment or physical skills to avoid a tragic accident should something go wrong when traveling at the speed that a dirt bike can reach. Even bikes are dangerous to a degree, but I would be loathe to increase the risk unnecessarily by adding a motor to the mix. When I was a kid, we rode bikes all over the place, in an out of the street and not a helmet to be found. And I grew up in the inner city with tons of traffic everywhere, Nowadays, it wouldn't go unnoticed. When we learn better, we do better. There is a reason why ER personnel refer to motorcycles as 'murdercycles' or 'donorcycles'. It's one thing to take that risk as an adult, quite another to allow a child to assume it. 17 Link to comment
GeeGolly October 5 Share October 5 (edited) Goodness yes. I rode my bike all over town for hours at a time when I was little and rode even farther as a teen. My kids rode in our neighborhood within a perimeter of busier roads. They wore helmets. But these were regular ole two wheelers - no motor or engine. My brothers, as tweens and teens rode what we called minibikes, something in between what Giddy is riding and a motorcycle. They wore helmets and only rode them on a (well traveled and well known to us) dirt road and a dirt path at our summer cottage. My mom was a free range parent and even she waited until my brothers were twice Giddy's age. Edited October 5 by GeeGolly 9 Link to comment

Gemma Violet October 5 Share October 5 (edited) I cringed when I saw the video, especially since Gideon was going pretty fast. I don't have kids, but if I did, never in a million years would I let them have a bike like that, helmet or no helmet. Another thing I hate is three-wheelers and four-wheelers. I've heard of too many cases where they tipped over and killed/maimed someone. Call me overly-cautious, but it only takes one second to change your life forever. emma675 October 5 Share October 5 Didn't Jamie Spears (Britney's younger sister) almost lose her daughter really young because she let her ride a motorized bike similar to Gideon's and she had a rollover accident? I never thought Joy was the brightest bulb, but this is just a horrible accident waiting to happen. 13 Link to comment
lookeyloo October 5 Share October 5 I didn't say it was good sense in my post. I said it was very common. They are doing what is common in their culture, whether they realize/recognize/acknowledge the risks or not. And, most people say "well, it won't happen to us/me", etc. And of course it does happen to us/me. 13 2 Link to comment
