Tori & Company In The Media

Recommended Posts

That photo was surreal. Wait, this is Tori's thread. Doing all that photoshopping but leaving a large scar? There was a very long, thin, dark scar running from her armpit to the crook of her elbow.

For those who didn't see it, it looked like she changed every plane, angle and part of her body. I don't think anything was untouched. She did such a poor job of trimming her fat hands that they looked like lobster claws.

Not surprised that she deleted it. Maybe someone grabbed the screen and it will surface.

She even used the word complacent for having one child!  I was thinking that is just not good to think much less say. Also she went on an anniversary trip with a Dean to Hawaii because somehow when you are broke you can do that. Lastly she wrote tributes to all of her kids on Instagram and I always find it interesting how much less she likes Hattie. She talks about her in a less loving way than she does with the others.

Tori is trash. I’m an only child and I loved it. I was a surprise (and my parents were older) but I know that one of the biggest reasons I was able to go to college, take a couple of (non-extravagant vacations as a kid), go to the museum with my mom, play sports, etc was because my parents only had one child. They wouldn’t have been able to do for two (or more) what they were able to do for one.

Some people realize they only have the financial, emotional, and time-commitment capacity to care for one child. Or two kids. Or three. Or maybe more. Some know they don’t want to have kids at all and are childfree by choice, which we should celebrate because no one should have kids just because they feel pressured to do so by society.

We could not afford a third child. I was sterilized after baby #2 (and had a total hysterectomy last month anyways) because I knew that we could not afford childcare for three children (and I have no desire to quit the job I love), because I knew I emotionally could not take on the stress of caring for a third child, and I knew my body (which had extensive pelvic floor damage after my first pregnancy & I also suffered from prenatal depression) could not handle it. I need to be able to financially, emotionally, and physically be able to parent the kids I do have to the best of my abilities. I knew a third would be too much for me. One of my best friends knew one was enough for her. A couple of my friends said three was it for them. In short - mature people generally KNOW THEIR OWN LIMITS. I trust women and their families to decide what’s right for them - whether it’s 0,1,2,3, etc.

Tori can miss me with her feelings about people “only” having one child or two. We knew what we could handle and we don’t all have the benefit of Candy’s money for nannies, nannies, housing, education, etc. (Not to mention of course those who have fertility issues.)

Shut up, Tori. Maybe you should address that you’re a grown ass woman who had more opportunities than most of us can even dream about and yet you still can’t understand how to set limits for your self. Grow up. And don’t act like you know what the average person’s struggle is.

Maybe it's because Hattie looks like Candy (am I the only one who notices this?)

Or maybe it's because Hattie isn't validating Tori enough. I watched a special Tori & Dean did on the Food Network (I think it was a Thanksgiving special) and Hattie was giving Tori serious attitude. I loved it!

I think Tori has such a sick need for validation and adoration that she even wants it from her kids. Hence her need to always having a baby around.

I can't wait until Hattie writes a tell-all book trashing Tori.

Bingo!  I think Hattie looks like a young Candy. I also think Hattie is the most beautiful of Tori’s kids. Candy was quite beautiful as a young woman (not that she’s not good looking now, but she was beautiful long before any plastic surgery/anti-aging as a young woman/teen). Hattie, IMO, is likely going to be model-level beautiful by the time she’s a teen or early 20s.

Tori knows it and is JEALOUS. Candy was always the best looking in the Spelling family and now Hattie (as Candy’s mini-me) is the most beautiful of the McDermott family. (Not that the other kids aren’t cute, they are. But Hattie is very pretty in a traditional beauty way.)

It's ridiculous that she frames her overbreeding as a result of her being an overachiever, essentially, and wanting to accomplish as much as possible. In reality, her favorite hobby is staying in the hospital, which she does as much as possible between lavish vacations. The most "work" she's done in the past several years is being filmed acting like a lunatic for a series of reality shows. And it's pretty clear that Dean and the nannies do 95% of the childcare (being generous).

Hasn't she said that she was less attached to Hattie (and super attached to Finn) because she had such a rough pregnancy with Finn and was on bedrest for months while Hattie was still an infant and Dean did everything taking care of her? (Another totally inappropriate thing to share.) The McDermott kids are going to be so fucked up.

Tori’s kids are basically the only real accomplishments she has. Let’s be honest. She threw away any career she could have had as a comiedenne once she went too far into “reality tv.”  Her family drama will always overshadow anything she does now. There’s no redemption anymore.

Having babies is the only thing noteworthy she can do (and probably not for much longer), even though she’s hurt her body before doing it. And yes, she absolutely is addicted to being in the hospital and being babied. Ugh.

Thanks! Wow--her face looks really bizarre in that pic and the scar is quite something. Tori, you're doing body acceptance wrong.

It really does look like she photoshopped her head onto someone else's body, but this article has a papp picture of her in the suit with some shorts, so its not someone else's body, it's hers but altered.

Look at the papp picture in the link, her hands really do look like that.

I don't do Instagram but wandered onto Tori's site (page?--sorry, I'm old and don't know the correct terminology).  I only looked at a few posts but she sure got a lot of nasty comments from people.   Granted most of the stuff on there seemed to be her trying to sell something so I don't really blame people.  But I do have to wonder how many of her followers are true fans.

I think she has a lot of hate followers. Between True Tori and all the antics, selling, drama she lost a lot of real fans and followers. It's a shame really.

She's on another vacation. I think I've lost track of how many she's been on this year.

As far as I can tell from her Instgram page, she seems to have gone on at least 6 vacations since New Years.

Vacation from what? It's not like she is working, is she? She does not have a show that I know of, she has taken down her website, what is she toiling so had at that requires her to have a vacation every five or six weeks?

From the article:

We are a @fourseasons family like even before my 1st was born (who’s 11) and bc of a house situation we are of course staying with them,”

First of all a “house situation?” Does that mean they got booted from their most recent place? They are moving yet again? They’re currently homeless? And second, they are “of course” staying at the Four Seasons. How do broke people stay at a luxury hotel? How are you, who owes money all over, a “Four Seasons family?” I apparently never learned the scammy, sleight of hand lifestyle because I’m not sure my family is even a Motel 6 family.

So how badly was he cut on the nails? "Does he need a tetanus shot?" How about you call your fucking pediatrician. Personally, if it wasn't too bad, I would clean the area and maybe call the doctor if I was really worried. How long until the lawsuit was my first thought, too. If she does pull that shit, I hope Four Seasons takes her on, rather than settle out of court, which you know is what she wants.

So she will offer tips like get a boob job that makes your cleavage look like nothing that appears in nature? Or dye your hair a color that is way too light for you and wear it too long? Or spackle on the makeup so no one can see your actual face? Or be sure to wear something that makes everyone think of the phrase "mutton dressed as a lamb"? Or...

And I actually liked her when she was on the show So NoTorious and thought she had potential as a comedian comic actress. But makeover advice? Next, is she going to do a show offering financial advice? Sweetie, stay in your lane.

To clarify that I thought she had potential as a comic actress, which is not the same as a comedian.

I enjoy coming to these forums to catch up on celeb stuff, gossip, guilty pleasure TV watching, etc.

And I have my faves bookmarked. Sure, I like a bunch of the Real Housewives, Bravo stuff.

That said, I am going to take off, stop following, anything Tori. No disrespect to other posters on anything Tori.

She just depresses me. I am sorry her career is in the toilet.  She and Dean, but I think, mostly her, have squandered positive career and life in general opportunities.

And I suspect she is emotionally ill.

I wish her and her family well. Good bye.

"Tori and Dean are very much in love and have dedicated themselves to improving their marriage. They built a family together and plan on raising their kids as a team," a source says of the couple, who share five children together. "They realized things got completely out of hand when their blowout fights became very public. As painful as that period has been in their life, it was also very eye-opening for them."

"Tori and Dean see Tori's experience as a nervous breakthrough rather than a nervous breakdown, because it led them back to the right path and a healthier life together," the source says. "They both looked at what they were giving up by losing one another, and were willing and ready to do what it takes to make their relationship work.”

"They started counseling again and turned everything around," the source adds. "They realized that most of their stress stemmed from their money issues. They're now working closely with an accountant to help fix their financial situation. They've since made some big changes.”

A pressure has also been "lifted" ever since McDermott began working again, according to the source.

The source says Tori still feels outnumbered by their five kids -- Liam, 11, Stella, 10, Hattie, 6, Finn, 5, and Beau, 1 -- but has been working overtime to be the best mother she can be for them.

"She never gave herself a break," the source claims. "Now she's balancing everything with the help of some extra childcare. Having full-time help is expensive, but taking care of five children on your own is close to impossible."

"Tori definitely wants to work again, and is considering several reality show opportunities, but her team seems to be encouraging her to go back to scripted television," the source continues. "First and foremost, Tori is an actress, and some of her closest friends now support the idea of returning to scripted television. They feel taking some of the focus away from her personal life would be helpful and she is beginning to warm up to the idea.”

Too bad Dean is the one who went back to work. Tori should work and let Dean stay home with the kids. He could handle them.

PREACH! Let's pitch a new reality TV show: Previously TV Forum Members Fix Tori & Dean's Lives!

Episode 1: Tubal ligation & vasectomy.

Episode 2: Parents on the forum with large families show them how two working parents or one SAHParent+working parent can care for five kids without full-time nannies. (Also, BS that they ever didn't have nannies. Maybe they just had part-time help, but they definitely had help!)

Episode 3: No vacations for the next several years. Tori cries. PTV members take turns telling her how long it's been since some of us with kids and bills have taken vacations.  We take Tori to meet people who have never been on a vacation.

Episode 4: Selling storage unit contents.

ETC ETC ETC

Preach @MyPeopleAreNordic! My oldest kiddo was complaining about needing a massage due to adjusting to carrying her backpack again. I counted years since I’ve had one and then added the number of years since a vacation for good  measure. 11 & 13 years respectively. She couldn’t relate. Lol! (She travels with her dad a couple of times a year and he pays for a massage once or twice a year too.) I’d take half of one of the vacations these folks have been on.

And they're now on vacation #8. That's right, eight vacations and it's only September. I think Tori doesn't believe these vacations count because they happen in the state of California. She keeps referring to those kind of vacations as "staycations." But a staycation is when you take time off work and stay home, not when you travel to the other end of a state that is huge.

I have noticed that too!  Yes, but you are staying at a resort...that is not a staycation.  A staycation is being at home or maybe a day trip or maybe one night at a hotel out of convenience.  Not that you go to some expensive resort and stay for several days with your huge family.  Seriously, glad someone else said this as this has always annoyed me.  It just shows you how "not smart" she is.  lol    If I went to the beach in my home state and stayed a few days, I would not call that a staycation.  Ugh.

Her latest addiction. Her latest way to distract herself from the fact that she's miserable in her life and marriage, but can't leave it, because "fairytale!" And "soulmates!" She can't just be a sentimental person, she needs to have multiple storage lockers of every piece of crap she's ever owned. She can't just have a baby, she needs to have five kids close in age. She can't just rack up debt, she needs to overspend and shop to the point where she's millions in debt to creditors and the government. She can't just get sick or injured, She has to nearly hemmorage in front of her daughter (and then get pregnant again) and throw herself on a benihana grill. She can't just go on A vacation, she needs to have eight vacations in one year. She's an addict and an attention seeker.

I'm a bit of a numbers-geek, but in this calendar year, we've just finished the 8th month. Coincidentally, Tori has just finished her 8th vacation. That basically boils down to 1 vacation every month, or 1 vacation every 4 weeks. Taking that a step further, assuming that each vacation/staycation is roughly 1 week, that means that 1 vacation per month = 1/4 of the month that she's spent on vacation. Considering that it's happened every single month, she's spent 25% of the year on vacations/staycations, & she doesn't even actually work that I'm aware of. I know Dean had "Chopped", but Tori doesn't actually have gainful employment, & hasn't for several years, to the best of my knowledge.

Contrast that to Geoffrey Owens/Elvin from "The Cosby Show". I am absolutely positive that he lived very well off of residuals from "The Cosby Show" for a number of years, money which he also earned completely on his own, so that's in no way a diss on him (or even Tori & her nepotism). I'm equally positive that residuals from Cosby have dried up to the point that they're non-existent, since no one considers Bill Cosby "America's Dad" anymore, & I doubt stations are clamoring to air reruns of the show. Instead of living way beyond his means, he went to work at Trader Joe's, which is a normal job for anyone, especially someone who doesn't have a lot of acting jobs anymore. No shame in that, at all, he can probably arrange his schedule so that he can still act if he gets the chance, & he probably has way better benefits than most of us, & probably better than he had when he was acting. The only shame in that situation is the person who snapped the pic & sent it to the media. I bring that up because Tori would never, ever consider any kind of "normal" job, like Trader Joe's, or being a teacher's assistant, or being a publicist for another celebrity, no matter what the situation was. She'd just wait for the situation to get destitute enough for her Mom to take pity on her.

I think there is a tendency to think that only ugly/poor people have mental illness.  (Not saying that about anyone specific here.. just a common assumption that exists in society).

The well-off have more buffers to protect against external signs of mental illness. They have the resources to not lose their homes, cars, access to doctors, spas, vacations, etc.   Being good looking is also a resource that causes people to make more positive assumptions about you.

If Tori hadn't done those reality series with Dean, and had kept it all hidden, we might not have much idea how bad off she is mentally.
