We really don't know that.  Sometimes the people who talk the most about the  $$$ they give actually give the least and vice versa.

Yeah, reminds me of this woman at my workplace who was always collecting money for the "sunshine fund" for sick colleagues ... until we found out that she never actually donated to the fund.

Yep. I've seen this for myself.

I also doubt that the DA's office which employs Derick, makes monetary donations to that charity. The DA's office is a public agency, operating on public money - and the state of Oklahoma doesn't lavishly fund any public agency. I don't think the DA's office would (or could) hand out wads of its cash to any private charity. But they may refer people to the charity and generally support its work without making monetary donations. Hence the Dillards' attending the fundraiser.

I wonder if that charity (private nonprofit) qualifies for grant money administered by the DA's office.  I worked for a state agency in a different state and that did happen. In our case if was a federal formula grant program.

Wow, they must not be paying much attention to their Republican overlords these days and their rally participants.  Or they know zero Puerto Ricans in their little white corner of the world.

I refuse to believe they are dressing that way in an ironic or pointed fashion.

They just stepped right into that.

I think they're representing an insult made toward a different group.

But anyway, a picture of Derick calling himself garbage is an accurate picture.

I'm actually surprised that people thought they had changed. The only reason they fell out with Jill's parents was money, not theology . Had JB given them what they wanted they'd still be praising him.

I'm surprised, but not surprised. Derick has never changed but his repair-his-image campaign and his 'outing' of JB had some folks changing their minds.

IMO, nobody who publicly spouted the shit Derick spouted can redeem themselves without denouncing what they said, followed by actions proving it.

I think much of the "love" for Derick was really just folks enjoying someone beating JB at something.

Underdog Derick takes down the more hated entity and becomes the hero. Even though they are both the same.

Jill said that she might get tattoos, not ruling it out. Probably something to do with the babies she lost.

I think she’s in a really happy place. The two oldest are going to school, she seems to love being home with the little one. She cooks every day and seems to make some interesting international dishes. Plus she loves gardening. That’s a lot more than her mother ever did at that age, or any age.

Derick would have to do something spectacular for me to think he is anything but scum for bashing a child (Jazz) on the internet.

I'm glad that Jill has a better life now than she had as a child and teen, but she still has the same abhorrent religious beliefs as Derick and the rest of her family.

Derick confirms that this conversation was cordial, at best.

I mean either way he is in fact "mingling" by definition. Didn't law school teach him how to use a dictionary?

Me thinks he doth protest too much.

He obviously wants to keep the book selling.

I feel for Jill sanwiched in between two man-children.

He's more calling out James for taking these pictures (it was intimated that he's done this more than once). Calling it an ambush is a bit strong, but it's apparent that Derick didn't like it. They were also in the background of the main subject matter, noticed by Redditors, etc.

That said, maybe this encounter was attempted by Jill hoping for some sort of reconciliation that Derick maybe grudgingly agreed to. Mingling? I guess so because they're talking. But voluntarily? It's Christmas, make an effort at being cordial. I think that's what we're seeing here.

I think Jill wanted to see her siblings and let her kids be around their cousins.  I can understand that.  Derick was explaining how ironic it is that the two times they have been in that house over the last two years, pictures have been posted of it.  (JB still controlling his narrative and using James to do it.)   It is a big family and a big house and both Jill and Derick know that conversations with JB can be short and sweet, and they can go to another part of the house to put distance between them when needed.   I do not fault Jill for wanting to be with her family on Christmas especially for the sake of her kids.  I am sure Jill still loves her parents.  It must drive her crazy that her siblings are all still "in the fold" and can't see they are in a cult.  I guess she has decided that it is better to have some relationship with them than none and to pick her battles.

"Counting On alum Jill Duggar Dillard is known for her close relationship with her brother, James. The 32-year-old raised her brother when they were still at the Duggar compound. But despite living far from each other today, James still makes efforts to visit his older sister. Jill also mentioned James in her book, “Counting The Cost,” implying that he’s one of the few siblings who’s breaking free from the family."

“We can’t have favorites but … ,” Jinger, 30, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, March 20, adding a wink face emoji. “@Jamesaduggar.”

Dillwad the coward changed his Insta story to correct his "Claus" spelling goof and delete a few of the more accusatory lines towards the family.

Always the hypocritical tool.  I can't imagine who he thinks he's fooling.

Poor Derick. The Internet is forever. I'm pretty sure the original post is a few posts above this one. 😂

I noticed that the young girls who are left, and Michelle herself, are changing their style. It’s mostly black tights with a knee length or shorter tight skirt in black. That’s actually a fashionable look, and way less conservative than they’ve ever been. I even saw Michelle with a black skirt that was only barely to the knees. Though she did have on those stupid black clodhoppers.
